C5, C7 and C9 Christmas Lights

What are C5, C7 and C9 Lights?

While some people aren't familiar with the term C5, C7 and C9 when it comes to Christmas lighting, they are very recognizable the second you see them, even if you don't know that's what they're called today.

Years ago these larger size Christmas lights were what were available and used, with the C7 being the smaller of the two, with a length of about 2 inches including the base. A C9 is the same shape, but with a size a little bit longer than the C7. The C5 is a little smaller than the other two. You'll recognize them by the size and shape the second you view them below.

I still use these fantastic lights, and they shine brightly as ever, and work in many situations inside and outside the house.

These obviously aren't a shy type of light, and they brightly light up any place you put them. C5, C7 and C9 Christmas lights are still a highly desired and used decoration, and you can see why from the photos below.

Most of the time these types of Christmas lights are used to outline your roof or put on outside trees, although many still use them indoors for a number of purposes, including on their Christmas trees.

There are other "C" lights like C6, and the way to understand what that means is the lower the number the shorter the length of the bulb.
