Open Letter to Santa Claus

Have You Written Your Letter To Santa Yet?

Dear Santa Baby,

I understand this happy holiday is your busiest time of the year and I won't take up too much of your time. I'll make this letter short and sweet. At least I'll try to, I do have a tendency to ramble. This girl was there an age limit for letters to Santa?

I hope not because I'm kind of older than a child, but I'm still a kid at heart. Does that count? I've also been nice. Most of the time.

Everyone is anticipating when Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. All the kids have been on their best behavior, hopefully.

They know you are making a list and checking it twice. It's a shame that parents could only use Santa as a threat just a few weeks a year. How about making this a year-long event?

On your Sleigh Ride around the world you will notice many areas where fun, festive celebrants have accomplished their task to Deck The Halls with boughs of holly!

You will most likely be singing fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la as you view the decorations. Your jovial journey will be glowing with lights to help guide your path.

Faith, Lily and Aunt Chelle 2013

Faith, Lily and Aunt Chelle 2013

Tis The Season

Most likely Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer will be leading the pack with his very shiny nose. He took a lot of slack and bullying due to his unique facial feature, but he held tough.

Rudolph showed the bullies that even though he might be different he can still be a success. Anyway, Santa while you are guiding your reindeer I ask you one favor...please be careful we don't want another Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer accident! Grandma's are super special and we need to have their back, not hit their backside!

If by chance while traveling the friendly skies you might happen to notice Mommy Kissing Santa Claus...don't panic! He's not an impostor or trying to steal your thunder! He's most likely daddy dressed as jolly St. Nick.

He understands you are overworked and underpaid and he's just lending a helping hand. Hopefully, that's what is going on, or Mommy is in trouble! Uh oh!

Do You Hear What I Hear?! It's the millions of people around the world hustling and bustling getting ready for your arrival! We are preparing our chimney's by removing the soot so you don't get your red suit dirty. We are planning on which cookies to prepare for you this year. Low-calorie and no high fructose corn syrup is a must!

Trust me while you are Up On The Housetop you will appreciate our thoughtfulness! We are also reminding the children that they better be good! We are wrapping gifts with pretty bows and adding your name to it. You have an amazing amount of helpers, including your adorable elves and most importantly Mrs. Santa.

I would like to thank you for your hard work and dedication in honor of your billions of fans. You are one of a kind...even though many people try to mimic you. No one can pull off a Ho! Ho! Ho! except the real Santa. I want to wish you good luck this Christmas Eve as you begin your trek in Australia and finish it off in America.

During this Silent Night there will be much Joy To The World. Many people will be listening for your Silver Bells. They will be wondering what surprises will greet them in the morning. So much cheer for all children worldwide. We gotta love it!

It's now time for you and Mrs. Santa to celebrate another successful holiday where you made many children (of all ages) very merry. I suggest the two of you now take some time to enjoy the holidays.

When you arrive safely back in the North Pole how about you two go Rocking Around The Christmas Tree? Eat, drink and be merry! Rest up for next year! By the way, I'll pass on a gift obviously know why, since you know if I've been bad or good. Uh oh! Thanks for your taking the time to read my letter Santa, aren't you glad I didn't ramble!

P.S. Wishing all of Santa's "helpers" happy holidays! In all the rush of the season don't forget about you. Do something nice for you. Without you someone's Christmas might have less cheer. Show yourself how special you are. Enjoy making memorable memories no matter how you celebrate. Are you picking up on the trending "you?" ... Have yourself a Holly Jolly Christmas!

Hi Teach...Happy Christmas to you!

Dianna Mendez on December 28, 2015:

This is such a fun read, Linda. I can't remember if I ever did write a letter to Santa. If I did it was probably loaded with lots of interesting suggestions! Hope your Christmas was Merry.

You are very welcome. Keep up the fine work and I wish you and yours a Very Merry CHRISTmas.

Suzie from Carson City on December 09, 2014:

Sunshine.......I wrote a letter to Santa and it was returned due to excessive profanity. I sent him an email and Mrs. Claus sent it back to me telling me her husband was busy and don't bother him!......I called him on the phone and an Elf answered and said I had reached a non-working number.

I'm packing now for my trip to the North Pole. If you don't hear from me for a month......please contact the producers of "Without a Trace."

I demand a full investigation of my disappearance.... The Grinch.

Mary Craig from New York on December 09, 2014:

Of course I had to come back and read this again...what's a day without Christmas SUNSHINE!

Thanks Eduardo! Merry Christmas to you!

Eduardo on July 26, 2013:

I found this post very interesting and the ltlite essay charming. I always admire anyone who tries to conquer a second language. I know that your post isn't about that but really about these dreadful times when money isn't stretching not nearly as far enough as it should. We all have people from the far flung corners of the earth in our countries which in education alone is heaving at the seams and I always think it is right to encourage this. It is a sad argument but it is important for every country in the land to be familiar with every other country. Their people, customs, religions, hopes and dreams but for a few ot the reasons. We need to do this to achieve a really peaceful world because above everything else we need to build up tolerance. It is so easy and say no to foreigners having and enjoying our education system, health system and so on and so forth. This is perhaps a luxury thought that none of us can afford to have for we must make our planet peaceful and safe and work in harmony to make every life fulfiled, happy and content. It also helps us to conquer the major problems of the world: disease, poverty and global warming. Only then can our children and our children's children be assured of a good and healthy life.I think there should be another way though - perhaps there should be a world fund for education where all countries contribute and funds are made available to enhance all childrens needs. Countries get together to try to obtain peace perhaps it is now time to add education to peace.I hope you have a lovely Sunday ... we have had snow here and have been told the weather is going to remain terribly cold for the next two weeks or more. It seems so dreadfully early for Winter to be here ... it is quite a while until Christmas yet.

Linda Bilyeu (author) from Orlando, FL on December 22, 2012:

Brenda K Krupnow from Ravenden, AR on November 26, 2012:

I always get depressed around this time of year because we live so far away from our kids, but this year is worse because there is one less family member (my mother) to share the holidays with and my husband is very sick. However, your story cheered me up quite a bit. Heck, I might even go out and take some pictures of the new-fallen snow and write a new hub! Thanks a bunch.

CrisSp from Sky Is The Limit Adventure on November 25, 2012:

Hey Sunshine! I need more of you here...yes, you! Sunshine! It's only November and we already have some white stuff on the ground here up north.

So, I thought this letter to Santa is a little bit early but since we already have some snow today, guess it sets the mood. Besides, we have to give some time allowance for Santa to get what we wished for.

What a fun hub! Totally enjoyed it. Up and awesome!

nanderson500 from Seattle, WA on November 25, 2012:

LoveDoc, Are you teasing Santa? You just might get what you ask for even if you're joking! :)

lovedoctor926 on November 14, 2012:

Dear Santa. Please bring me a hot looking, decent guy for Christmas. Is that too much to ask for? Lol. kidding. I'm not looking for anyone.

Remember how you challenged me to write a hub on tackling my tasks. Well, I wrote it this morning and for some reason, I deleted a capsule by mistake and the article disappeared. I didn't save it today like I usually do, but I was annoyed!

Linda Bilyeu (author) from Orlando, FL on November 14, 2012:

Hi Becky, Decorations?? It seems too soon, but thanksgiving is next week. This year flew by. Ho, Ho, Ho to you!

Rfordin from Florida on November 14, 2012:

I really liked this hub. I still enjoy listening to Christmas carols and drinking eggnog by the fireplace. Grandma got run over by a reindeer is a classic. Joy to the World as well as Rudolph is another favorite as well as And a Partridge in a Pear Tree. Thanks for the memories. All I want for Christmas is you. I don't know, I'm wondering if I should write a letter to Santa this year. I haven't been too naughty this year. Voted up!

Found your hub funny, delightful and a great read! : ) Loved it all, and how you made use of many songs, which you successfully worked into the letter. You have my vote on this one! Awesome!!

Martie Coetser from South Africa on October 25, 2012:

Ho-ho-ho, I ROFL for that 'Dear Santa Baby' start of yours, Sunshine!

You're too cute, Baby!

Down here Santa Claus is compelled to appoint helpers. His helpers meet him at a central point to receive their uniforms and the bags with sweets and presents.

I am one of his appointed helpers, already (now in October) busy to generate energy to do my job to the best of my ability. Sometimes I have to do the neighbors as well, but I don't mind. I'll do ANYTHING for Santa Claus aka Father Christmas as long as I get a hug from each and everyone receiving a prezzy from him.
