For most people, Monday is the worst day of the week. Reason being, it comes too soon and the weekend ends too fast. It makes working in corporate America very stressful and irritated after an enjoyable weekend.

Monday is described as a day for which people feel the most stressed and least cheerful. It is also associated with a massive case of the Monday Blues.

If Mondays seem to sneak up on you just as you are starting to relax and appreciate your weekend, it does not have to stay that way.

For those who are lacking enthusiasm and motivation on Monday morning because you feel sluggish, tense, tired, hopeless and a mood that shows work is unpleasant but mandatory. You have a severe case of the Monday morning blues.

If you are looking for a different angle on beating the Monday Morning Blues, especially after a long, relaxing weekend. This article can help take the sting out of Mondays by assisting you to wake up on Monday less painful.

Over the weekend, we all tend to sleep in late. Due to having two days off and our body have adjusted to relaxing, we find it hard to get out of bed on time each Monday morning. As the realization hits us that we're running late, we stumble to dress quickly so we can be on time for work.


To eliminate those awful case of the Monday blues for good follow these approaches:

1. Start prioritizing your Monday on Sunday night

To make sure Monday morning are not so hard to move into personal mode on Sunday evening. The shift in attitude will help you mentally prepare for Monday morning so that you can overcome the Monday blues.

2. Identify why Monday’s are dreadful and blue

Start by soul-searching as to why Mondays so terrible and blue. Determine if the problem is something you can live with, or you need to fix it immediately.

3. Let go of the weekend and go to bed early, plan something rewarding at the end of the day on Monday.

Don’t get caught holding on to the weekend and staying up late. Let go of the weekend, go to bed early and make a plan for Monday morning in advantage. Plan ahead makes the schedule on Sunday to make sure you have something to look forward to the week ahead.

4. Be positive and Dress for Success

Begin Monday morning in by being in the right spirit, dressing for success and aim to let someone see you ready to be positive and make the best of the day.

5. To make Monday worthwhile create a list of everything you are looking forward to doing the entire week

Instead of thinking and looking for all the tough stuff ahead turn things around by making a list of all the worthwhile things you look forward to doing the week ahead. That will put you in a more positive mood to deal with Monday blues.

6. Do everything humanly possible to keep your Monday schedule light.

Since Mondays are usually busy days at work, do as much as possible every Friday to make Monday schedule as light as possible. This will help you to be more relieved to see Monday morning. It will also allow you to let go of the weekend, and it will help you to come on Monday with ease.

7. Make Monday a good work day

Since Mondays are known as a dreadful day, take it upon yourself to break Monday’s Blues by doing something positivity. Maybe create an event that you and your colleagues will look forward to each Mondays. Something like maybe brings donuts every Monday for your colleagues. This will give you a chance to get to know your colleagues better and maybe your co-workers will agree to take the term bringing donuts each Monday.

8. Stay positive and Transform your Sunday

Take the time to start transforming your Sunday. Awake on Monday with bright eyes and appreciate the things that you enjoy most about work. Do your very best not to complain, be positive and rid Monday morning grumpiness. This will put you in a better position to start Monday morning.

Monday morning is a dreary reminder that you have to work for a living. That means you spend the day smiling at people you find irritating, attending the pointless meeting, and wrestling with the copier that jams the instant you press start. All this is the reason most people get depressed but why dwell on the darker side of life? Although Mondays might not always be something to look forward to, below are various options that will offer ways to get through Mondays:

Option One – Overcome Monday Blues by preparing ahead

If you want to get rid of Monday blues and stop it in its track. The best way to beat it is by making sure you have had a good night sleep, refresh and ready to make the best of the day that is considered the most unforgiving of days.

Option Two – Separate personal and Business life

Some people do not know how to separate their personal and business life. When the time clock roll around to go home refuse to worry about work. Relax and think about positive personal things.

It okay to acknowledge work existence, but one should never bring the final plan of Friday evening work home with them to be a Monday morning attack. Learn to get as much work done as possible on Friday and then protect yourself by determining not to think about work until you return on Monday morning.

Option Three – Make a point to socialize at work

Most people spend more time at work than at home every week. So you may as well make Monday morning and work a home away from home. Socialize and make being at work a good feeling to continue the week.

Do something nice like go to lunch with a co-worker. That is the best way to socialize and by the time you get back into the office, the Monday morning blues will have faded. Also, your friends will remind you of at least one beautiful thing about work.

If the Monday morning blues are more than just irritating, it is up to you to improve your mood and seek help in stopping those Monday blues. After reading this article, you will be able to take into account the factors causing your Monday blues.

Although Mondays can bring about dreadful work days. Let keep in mind that any day of the week can drag on and on and achieve the same result. Let’s face it, with the right attitude and determination to beat your Monday blues; you will be able to indicate the Monday blues with the tips above and look forward to each Monday morning.
