Children below 1 year should not be given honey. Honey can contain spores of a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum, which can germinate in a baby's immature digestive system and cause infant botulism, a rare but potentially fatal illness. Please don't take any home remedies without checking with the pediatrician. It isn't worth the risk

Thank you this Hub...may save many of us a trip to the Pediatrician! I prefer home remedies over medicine.

After reading these articles I am very surprised that the mixture of honey and nutmeg for children helps with diarreah,
I always believed that honey should not be given to children under 1 yrs as it could be harmful, due to infant botulism,
Look this up first before giving honey to babies under 1 yrs..

I think home remedy is best for diarrhea. ..give arrowroot powder porridge..this is a good remedy..you may get arrowroot powder in medical store..prepare black tea and add little lemon juice to it..this is sure to cure diarrhea....do not give milk or any milk items....give baby bread and black tea...this will make diarrhea go off...

Your article is very useful for me, sometimes my daughter's stomach pain at night, it really helped me. Today, home remedies for children are very appropriate as an alternative medicine, to avoid excessive consumption of chemical drugs.
Thank you, Your article is very helpful.
