Meditation is the most effective way to get rid of the stresses of our daily busy life. Meditation means contemplation that one can do anytime and anywhere. Physical exercise helps us to stay fit physically but it can't work properly on mental health. In that case, meditation is perfect to stay healthy mentally and develop mental fitness. Meditation increases love for others and helps to be wise and brave.

Significance of Meditation

Meditation makes a man healthy mentally by reducing negative thoughts of us. Most of the thoughts (70%-80%) of a man in a day are negative. One can not stop overthinking but he can treat his thoughts properly to the right way. Meditation helps to get rid of those negative and wrong thoughts and helps to set an ultimate goal for our farther life. A study proved if one meditates properly for continuous 8 weeks, most of his anxieties will be reduced. This technique of meditation is called "Mindfulness Meditation".

Meditation lessens anxiety and grows the power to tolerate any critical situation. Many people suffer from panic which they get from any perilous experience in their lives. Meditation reduces more than 90%of stress. Besides this, it is helpful to grow our self-awareness. Mindfulness meditation decreases feelings of loneliness.

Meditation controls "Generalized Anxiety Disorder". It is a type of mental disease caused by -

  • Sudden critical situations
  • Taking drugs and tobacco
  • Some personal problem

Meditation is a habit that helps people to stay always happy and calm.

Physical Changes After Proper Meditation

It is proven if a person meditates for at least 1-2 weeks regularly, his physical and mental weakness will reduce. After meditating for at least 15 minutes a day, the heart starts working accurately, and blood pressure stabilizes with proper blood circulation.

In that case, it is useful to develop memory power with decreasing memory loss caused by the rising age. After a long practice of meditation one will be able to solidify concepts in his short-term memory. When a person tries to focus, the nervous system starts working smoothly and healthy thoughts occur instead of negative thoughts.

Lessens Wrong Addictions

Taking drugs or cigarettes regularly is very harmful to health. Drugs and tobaccos cause liver cancer, bone cancer, anal cancer, kidney cancer, breast cancer, etc. Cigarette causes mainly lung cancer, Bronchitis but it is proven that smoking cigarettes can be the cause of another disease like COPD(Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). COPD is a group of diseases that attacks passive smokers. Meditation helps to quit drugs or cigarette addictions. People addicted to drugs or cigarettes can be recovered fully if they meditate regularly for at least 15-20 minutes a day.

Proper Way of Meditation

Steps of proper meditation are

  • Find a suitable place where you will get no problem and distraction.
  • Sit in a position where you are comfortable.
  • Close your eyes and try to focus.
  • Breath gently.
  • If there is any sound you hear, try to forget and focus again.
  • Make a routine to do it regularly.
  • Start doing it for a short time and make the time of meditation longer.

After practicing for at least 1-2 weeks you will be familiar with this and after doing this regularly for 7-8 weeks you will feel changes in your mind and body also.
