Cassey Ho, Emi Wong, and Chloe Ting Have Your Back!
From my time lurking on the internet, I have noticed a trend that has sprung up among many in these past few months. It seems to me that the pandemic has, pardon my language, kicked us in the ass and opened our eyes to our health and well being. Many people have begun exercising, dieting, and generally just making sure that they are as fit as a fiddle. Of course, because they can't go to the gym, they have begun working out at home. Now, as someone who has never gone to the gym out of sheer terror and has always worked out at home, I can understand how daunting and confusing it may be. I mean, where do you even start? You search up 'ab workout' on Youtube.com and you're greeted with more than you know what to do with.
Well, have no fear, because I am about to introduce you to three women who make working out at home very easy. Now, before I get started, one should keep in mind that there are many fitness channels on Youtube that are also very helpful, but I will be focusing on these three as I am far more familiar with them. I've tried their workout videos and their various plans and calendars. My experience with them allows me to offer you a closer view into the mechanics of how their channels work.
Cassey Ho has been posting videos on YouTube since 2009. She's a certified pilates instructor with an arsenal of videos that have been whipping people into shape for years. The reason I think Cassey is such a great choice for someone just starting to work out is that she's well established. Not only does she create a workout calendar for every month, but she also has a beginner calendar that you can start out with if you're feeling uncertain.
She's also insanely supportive of everyone's individual body types. If you're worried about being judged for how you look, have no fear. Cassey has spoken up on numerous occasions about the hate she's received for her own body, whether it was because people thought she wasn't fit enough or because she was too fit. Cassey interacts with her fans a lot as well, often holding events where she can meet up with them and work out alongside them while offering encouragement and commiseration over some hard moves.
Also, to any men who might be reading this, pilates isn't just for women. Sure, it's not going to get you bulging muscles but it will definitely tone you up and make your muscles burn fiercely.
Emi Wong is a certified advanced personal trainer who is one of my personal favorites. She's based in Hong Kong and posts work out videos to her YouTube channel and her Instagram. One of the main reasons I love Emi is just how down to earth she is. In her videos, Emi makes it no secret if she's struggling but she never fails to keep pushing herself and I admire that.
In addition to work out videos, she also has videos on stretching and what she eats in a day. Emi also tries out different diets or techniques. In one of her videos, she did intermittent fasting and took us through her day. She talked about the upsides and the downsides, which I find very helpful for people who are thinking of trying certain things but are still somewhat hesitant.
She also posts workouts with her husband Chad, so if you're looking to work out with your significant other or even just a friend or a family member, then I'd definitely recommend her.
Chloe Ting is a huge fitness personality on YouTube, with over 15 million subscribers. She first started out as someone who discussed fashion and travel but by now the majority of her content is fitness-based. The amazing thing is, when Chloe first started her channel, she was an actuarial analyst which is really not related to exercise in any type of way.
Not only does she have workout videos, but she also has free programs that, much like Cassey's calenders, assign you a workout video every single day. They either target your whole body or just a specific part, like your arms or your abs. If you're still not convinced, many people have tried out Chloe's videos and recorded their journies.
It's one of the reasons she blew up so quickly; people were starting to notice that "Woah, these actually work!".
