The 2 Most Powerful Methods of Anti-Aging

At age 16 I was a volunteer at a hospital bacteriology lab. I became a chemist for U.S. government. Then I studied health & related fields.

Most Powerful Anti-Aging Methods

One of these powerful methods of anti-aging is 5,000 years old. The other one is 10,000 years old. One of them is enjoyable to do and makes you feel good. The other one feels terrible and awful while you are doing it.

First note that webmd.com spells this word as "antiaging." Here is their article: Top 6 Antiaging Breakthroughs. One of them is antioxidants.

The U.S. government spells this as "anti-aging." See the U.S. National Institute on Aging (NIA) article called Can We Prevent Aging. They are one of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). It mentions on it:

This article was written on March 29, 2014. Two of the pictures on the right are from an article called Most Beautiful Women Over 60. One of them is Olivia Newton who is age 65 and she had breast cancer at age 44. She has a daughter Chloe that is 24 years old. Here is a 2009 Daily Mail article on her. It says:

Today, I still eat well, using organic food where possible. I have been a vegetarian, but I'll now have grilled chicken or fish.

I also found an article that said that she does yoga. She has been using combinations of herbs from the Amazon rain forest for decades. This is well before she married the founder of Amazon Herb Company. Yes she liked the products so much, she married the owner of the company.

Amazon Herb products are now part of another company due to a merger. To look at these products that she uses (and her husband formulated) go to Experience Wellness. Hover cursor over Products and then click on Amazon Herb. Many yogis and herbalists also make money with this company in their spare time.

Sally Field also looks beautiful for her age. Here is what a webmd article says about her:

On the outside this vibrant actress remained an active sports enthusiast -- "hiking, biking, and doing extreme yoga on a regular basis," she says.

Extreme yoga is doing the postures or poses that are very difficult. I (Chuck Bluestein) have been doing yoga since age 12. Yoga is one of the 2 most powerful methods of anti-aging. Dr. Oz has his patients do yoga and he does yoga.

Yoga comes from India and is over 5,000 years old. One thing that it does is stimulate the endocrine system glands like the sex glands, the adrenal glands and the thyroid gland. These glands produce hormones that is a major part of slowing down aging.

The main reason that so many people do yoga is the same reason that people take drugs-- to feel good. But they work in different ways. With a drug, the best comes in the beginning and the rest is all downhill. That is why so many famous people have stopped taking drugs like Sir Paul McCartney.

With yoga, in the beginning the postures or poses are harder and people may worry about how they appear to others. But not only can you feel good every time that you do yoga, but it actually gets better and better. There are many physical things that affect health and aging.

But maybe the one that matters the most is not physical. It is mental and emotional. Stress can destroy someone's health faster than anything. They even say that it ages you faster like in giving you gray hairs. I just noticed that there is a book called, Yoga and the Wisdom of Menopause: A Guide to Physical, Emotional and Spiritual Health at Midlife and Beyond.

See my article 23 Celebrities That Do Yoga. Also for more interesting perspectives on yoga see Does Yoga Cause People to Look More Beautiful. This fits in really well with Olivia Newton-John and Sally Field looking so good after age 60. They even looked great when they were younger.

Yoga may be the best possible antidote for stress. It can even get deep stress out of someone. Yoga is exercise but it also so much more. Women doing yoga has become a phenomena in the world. There is a movie about this called Yogawoman. See the film preview below of this movie or film. Here is what is said about this movie:

Yoga was brought to the west from India by a lineage of male teachers. Now there's a generation of women who are leading the way. They're strong, they're inspiring and they're radically changing people's lives. Yogawoman, a groundbreaking film, uncovering a global phenomenon that has changed the face of yoga forever.

Fasting is not an enjoyable experience but it has been used for over 10,000 years. Animals in the wild also use it to heal their bodies. Above I give a webpage from the U.S. National Institute of Aging. It has a section called Calorie Restriction, Intermittent Fasting, Resveratrol, and Rapamycin. It says:

Scientists are discovering that what you eat, how frequently, and how much may have an effect on quality and years of life. Of particular interest has been calorie restriction, a diet that is lower by a specific percent of calories than the normal diet but includes all needed nutrients. Research in some animals has shown calorie restriction of up to 40 percent fewer calories than normal to have an impressive positive effect on disease, markers of aging, and, perhaps, life span.

Note that intermittent fasting is fasting and eating within a 24 hour period. Now I am not suggesting people restrict calories on a daily basis, But if one does a fast, that will reduce the number of calories that people consume annually. So people have lost over 100 pounds just by fasting on week-ends for several months. One medical doctor that is legendary is Joel Fuhrman M.D.

He has cured many people of serious diseases using fasting. He also has them change their diet afterwards so they eat nutrient dense foods that he calls a nutritarian diet. He suggests either a vegan diet or a diet that is almost vegan.

2,000 years ago, at the time of Jesus, the Jews used fasting to heal all sorts of health problems and even for other things. This is why the bible has 74 references to fasting. Yogis in India also use fasting. Christians use fasting to heal all sorts of problems that have nothing to do with health.

Mahatma Gandhi did a lot of fasting and lived until 78 years old when the average lifespan in India was about 45 years old. Also he died because he was shot. My mother was a chain smoker and she died at age 46 due to a stroke.

Fasting gives your digestive system a well deserved rest. Since you are not taking in toxins from eating, the body gets rid of toxins at an accelerated rate. This can feel really terrible to people. The worse that you eat before the fast, the worst you feel during the fast.

Also a fast of several days or longer causes your colon to work better than it ever has due to the rest or vacation that it gets. For more on this see my article The Many Benefits of Fasting. A tadpole fasts and becomes a frog. A caterpillar fasts and becomes a butterfly. In the bible it was after Jesus did a 40 day fast that he went around preaching, healing and performing miracles.

Dr. Fuhrman, mentioned above, was a skater and broke his foot, before he became an MD. Doctors told him that he would never skate again. He went to Dr. Herbert Shelton (ND, DC) and he fasted him for 42 days. He went back to skating and won some medals. He was a member of the US World Figure Skating Team and placed second in the US National Pairs Championship in 1973.

An interesting health educator on Wikipedia who lived until age 74 is Morris Krok. I have one of his books and it is very impressive. It is mostly on fasting, healthy eating and yoga. Wikipedia (link above) says about him:

Krok wrote books on detoxification, internal purification, natural living, self-healing, fruitarianism, fasting, living foods, raw nutrition, physical culture, hatha yoga [refers to yoga postures], meditation, deep breathing, higher consciousness, radiant energy, life extension and vitalism. As well as being an author, Krok published several books by other authors including Johanna Brandt,[12] Otto Abramowski[13] and Theos Bernard, through Essence of Health Publishers.

Note that vitalism is the belief that living things have something in it like a life force that is not in inanimate objects. Johanna Brandt cured her stomach cancer. Then she worked with a doctor and found 10 people dying of cancer. All were cured by just eating a diet of only grapes-- called the grape cure. See The Grape Cure for Cancer and Detoxification.

Grace Marguerite Williams from the Greatest City In The World-New York City, New York on March 29, 2014:

This a great hub, learned a lot from it! Nothing ages a person more than stress. Stress is also a silent killer, believe it or not. Healthy eating and proper exercise go a long way to delaying aging.
