2 Best Ways to Cleanse the Colon or Large Intestine

The subject of colon cleansing is surrounded by a lot of confusion. Colon cleansing refers to cleaning or cleansing the colon by different methods. It does not refer to a particular method even though a doctor on TV was talking about colon cleansing as if it were a colonic. Also it is not referring to a theory on why to do it.

Here is what Wikipedia says about colon cleansing:

No scientific evidence supports the alleged benefits of colon cleansing[3] and it "has no known medical value and risks damage to the rectum or bowel."

This is a stupid thing to say when it does not refer to a certain method. For example one method of colon cleansing may be to drink 3 glasses of fresh carrot juice daily (carrot is ground up). One expert says that carrots are the best food to cleanse the colon. So they are saying that drinking carrot juice risks damaging the colon?

Please note that enemas cleanse the colon effectively but many do not include that as cleansing the colon since it used daily in hospitals. Say you need to clean your hands. You could try sand or gravel but water would work best. Note that soap makes water wetter!! So what does Wikipedia say about this method of cleansing the colon under Enema:

The above also explains that enemas with coffee in it has killed 3 people. This article was written May 27, 2013 (Memorial Day). A colonic or colonic irrigation is a more sophisticated enema with much more expensive equipment and delivered by a professional. They are called colonic irrigationists or colon hydrotherapists.

While some say that the colon does not need to be cleaned, there are many people who go for days without a bowel movement. Ideally it is best to have a bowel movement for every time that you eat. Lots of Americans suffer from constipation that is not good for physical or mental health. Of course it would help if most people learned the Right Way to Go to the Bathroom.

There is a video with Dr. Oz talking about colonics. He says that they will not hurt you so if you like getting them, then it is fine to get them. But he says that they are not needed if you have a good diet. But who has a good diet? Either it is people who only eat the healthiest foods and do not care about taste or people who only like healthy foods and do not like the taste of unhealthy foods.

Some foods have fiber in them but fiber cannot be digested by people (humans). But what it does do is clean the colon and help to keep it clean. Whole plant foods have plenty of fiber while animal foods have no fiber. Wheat is a plant food but since it is refined, some of the fiber is taken out. That is why Whole Grains are Healthier than Refined Grains. There are even different types of fiber that do different things.

Dietary fiber [fiber in diet] intake provides many health benefits. However, average fiber intakes for US children and adults are less than half of the recommended levels. Individuals with high intakes of dietary fiber appear to be at significantly lower risk for developing coronary heart disease, stroke, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and certain gastrointestinal diseases. Increasing fiber intake lowers blood pressure and serum cholesterol levels. Increased intake of soluble fiber improves glycemia and insulin sensitivity in non-diabetic and diabetic individuals. Fiber supplementation in obese individuals significantly enhances weight loss. Increased fiber intake benefits a number of gastrointestinal disorders including the following: gastroesophageal reflux disease, duodenal ulcer, diverticulitis, constipation, and hemorrhoids.

So I say that the second best way to cleanse the colon is by taking an enema that can be done with equipment that you by from the drugstore for about $15. You could also try a colonic if you want to spend a lot more money. The article does mention celebrities like Brad Pitt, Princess Diana and Barack Obama getting colonics.

If you read it you see that this woman felt great at first but then suffered from a potassium deficiency. Her doctor did not know what caused it so he said that it was probably from the colonic or colon irrigation. But the purpose of the colon is to hold waste and absorb water. Also if you look at the internet you see that many people have a problem of consuming too much sodium and not enough potassium due to salt that is not a food. Also what is in the colon is waste to go into the toilet. Human waste is not a source of potassium

The above information can be found on the internet. The best method for cleansing the colon has been used by Jesus and Moses according to the bible. Here is information that you cannot find in books or on the internet. Some things you need to learn about from your own experience. So to see that the best method works the best, you would have to try it. Dr. Herbert Shelton was a doctor of chiropractic and a naturopathic doctor or a doctor of naturopathy. He fasted about 40,000 people in his lifetime.

On the first 6,000 people that he fasted he made sure that they all got enemas. After that he did not use them anymore since he found that they were not needed. Several times I was fasting and on around the 6th day I could feel that waste just sitting in there so I took and enema so I would not have to feel that anymore. The purpose of a fast is to give your digestive system a rest or vacation.

Your heart is constantly beating and never stops so it can never have a vacation. The colon is constantly contracting and relaxing and like the heart or lungs, it never gets a vacation. This is what causes the waste to move through the colon. It is called peristalsis. During a fast where you consume only pure water, this peristalsis stops and the colon gets a vacation. You can look for information on this and probably not find it in books or on the internet.

Please note that I learned the above from doing fasts. Now say that I have not eaten for 10 days but have no need to defecate. Then say I start eating again and I have a strong need to defecate after 20 minutes. Well any doctor will tell you that food cannot travel from the mouth to the end of the colon in 20 minutes. It takes about 24 hours. So this is caused by the peristalsis starting again.

The fast needs to be at least 10 days to see most of this colon cleansing effect. After this vacation when you start eating again the colon is very aggressive at getting rid of waste. The fast tones up the colon and you can feel the difference. It will feel like it is working much better than it ever did before.

Please note that if this information were readily available then the country's leading expert on fasting, Dr. Herbert Shelton, would not have needed to perform enemas on the first 6,000 people that he fasted, before he stopped giving enemas. thanks for sharing this hub. Cleansing colon is a new topic to me. My bro used a powdered medicine drink to clean his colon. Really cleans out well but cost him a bomb. Now i could forward this hub to me to save cost. Voted up
