I am excited to write about this topic as I have gone through this stage myself. I am happy to inform you that I have defeated depression two times. Although my mental condition was worse than any normal depression.

Depression in simple words means you feel lonely and confused. During this time you have no idea as to what right steps you can take to overcome it. You will be emotionally and mentally broken during this time.

It is a slow process and healing definitely takes time. It starts with a feeling of emptiness and you want to stay lonely most of the time. In most cases, people reject the initial help and over time it becomes dangerous for the individual.

As people don’t know the correct symptoms of depression they don’t know how to overcome it during the initial stages. And the worst part is due to depression there will be many psychological effects on the brain.

Reasons For Depression

1. Students can become depressed due to bullying in the school
2. Employee loses self-esteem due to high work and peer pressure
3. Loss of job, loss of huge money, and repeated failed businesses can be reasons for someone depression
4. Bad company, bad relationship, and broker relationship are major reasons for it 5. Natural calamity and loss of near ones

Now, let’s understand how we can overcome it by using some techniques.

Healing Takes Times

Through my own experience, I can say it actually takes time. First of all, you have to understand that there are different levels of depression. First is the initial stage, then intermediate, and third being the advanced stage.

Till the time you are in the intermediate level of depression, it is relatively easy to overcome it by the power of the natural healing process. But even during these stages, you have to take action to overcome them.

Since depression is related to the brain you have to change your mental attitude and thinking process. But to change your mental process definitely takes time. So, if you are in the initial stage or at the intermediate level allow natural healing to take place by doing some positive acts. Support of loved ones is extremely important during these crucial stages.

Medication Is Must For The Advanced Stage

What if you are in the advanced stage? Well, then definitely you have to visit the doctor immediately. But the truth is you will not able to visit the doctor but only your loved one can notice the change in your behavior and they have to take you.

Well, I am writing this point because I have personally experienced it. If you will be in the advanced stage you will have no clue what to do next.

During this stage, many patients think of extreme negative thoughts, and having thoughts related to suicide is quite common. And such thoughts appear to them because they feel extreme hopelessness about life, family, and career. And this is how the brain actually operates during this time. So, through my own experience, I would definitely suggest to take your loved ones immediately to the doctor.

Now let’s understand what if you are in the initial stage or at the intermediate level. Well, at this stage you will have to learn to laugh a lot. Yes, many studies have already confirmed those people who laugh a lot will have fewer chances of feeling depressed.

Your laugh should be an honest one, which means you shouldn’t laugh for the sake of laughing. It should be a genuine laugh for some valid reasons.

So, laugh with family, laugh with friends, laugh with even stranges but laugh openly even sometimes for no reason. Don’t be mentally depressed but become a cheerful person. If possible play with kids, play with pets, etc.

Learn to make new goals. Yes, if you want to overcome the initial stage immediately then you have to laugh a lot and make new goals. In simple words, this means you have to get busy in your life.

During the depression, many people become hopeless and they stop working. This is one big mistake they do. Therefore, it is necessary to remain active and do something so the brain can think the constructive works only.

Pick A New Hobby

If you are feeling extremely low and have less enthusiasm for life then it is better you pick a new hobby. And if you ask me then let me share due to the revolution in technology you can learn so many things online.

Now-a-days, you can even learn almost everything including how to start farming, fishing, hacking, stock trading, etc. You can even take an MBA course online. So, there are so many things which you can do even by sitting on your couch. Once you will be back in your normal flow you can do wonders. Just pick a hobby and take some time to rediscover yourself.

If someone is depressed then he urgently needs attention from his/her family members. In my experience, it is not possible to regain confidence so soon without the help and love of family members. Apart from the above points, you need to do physical exercise, take a healthy diet, and if possible try to express yourself and your feelings to others, so they can help you in this process. But it is true many times people need help from psychologists. By the way, I now take medicine called risperdal 1 mg and I have to take this for the rest of my life.
