Honoring Your Path as an Artist

Many artists have at times encountered doubts about their work and success in the world. Part of the journey of being an artist is honoring your path, and discovering the richness of being a creative in the world today. Often times as young children we receive messages from society that say art is not important, art is difficult, or the famous starving artist narrative. Yet that is all these are, narratives, stories that are told to us. It is time to re-write and re-wire this defeating programming. The truth is, art is incredibly valuable as a reflective form of human consciousness. Take the time to start thinking about art in new ways by practicing the affirmations below. Write down any that really stick out to you, or perhaps write a few of your own. Keep this list in a place where you can look to it often. Keep yourself inspired, and keep creating!
