If you’re tired of getting tired, headaches, stomachaches, colds, flu and other ailments then it is time to change your eating diet because it is what you put through your mouth, into your body system that causes those problems. It is important to be more familiar with your body. We must feel and understand our bodies. In other words, when your body is tired then immediately, it should be given rest. If you have eaten something that doesn’t agree with your body then you should stop eating immediately and do whatever it takes to flush it out. It is not healthy to compound the problem by eating more unless the food that caused the ill feeling is gone completely out of your system.

If you continue to enjoy eating meat, processed food and don’t intend on ceasing to eat those kind of foods then you may not appreciate living ill free. The vegan diet has proven to be most miraculous. It has shown to produce clearer and smoother skin, a brighter and vibrant skin tone and natural weight loss to the balance of proportionate pounds and… if you were going blind watch your eyesight begin to see clearer again. To have no more headaches, stomachaches or colds are remarkable feats. Exercising every day in one way or another for 20-30 minutes goes so well with the vegan vegetarian diet. It is also good to consume natural herbs everyday. It is a way to heal and replenish damage done to your body system. Understanding and knowing your body also means knowing what types of water to drink in order to maintain proper PH balances of acid and alkaline in the body. You will have control over acid and inflammation.
We Must Educate Ourselves About Nutrition
We don’t get familiar enough with our bodies. By putting so many artificial products and chemicals in them we are deprived of natural benefits and functions. We can’t trust processed foods and brews to nourish the body every day. People are passing away daily from what many doctors may determine, “natural causes” but there is always a cause. We've precious relatives young and old that should still be with us today, We often ingest poisons and toxins as we eat foods that are processed with ingredients that we are unaware of. After so many years of consuming such ingredients the poisons and toxins have accumulated to the point that the body can take no more. The body is a very strong machine that can either last a hundred years or more or be broken down sooner. There are healthy food sand herbs to supply every organ of the body and we should learn what those foods are so that those organs can be properly nourished. A short cut to knowing is through education of the healthy foods and diets. Some people continue eating for more than 50-90 years without changing.
Eating Healthier Can Lead To Perfect Health
As mentioned in another of my articles, juicing vegetables and or fruits, using fresh and powdered herbs for replenishing will be interesting diet changes to get used to making and consuming. We must think healthy before putting anything in the mouth otherwise; it takes only one time to devour a poisonous food that could prove fatal. That’s how serious these health issues have been and still are, today. Vegan vegetarianism has an inherent style that is usually changed for the better due to improvement of health or to alleviate illness. The healthier we eat the better the body will function. If you took it upon yourself to change over from heavy meat eating, alcohol drinking and drug consuming to a healthier diet then over time you would experience no more symptoms for colds, headaches, stomachaches, nausea or other ailments. This is an opportunity for great alleviations. Through healthy eating we are given the opportunity for the body to function properly. All that is needed is to do make the choice for that to happen. The body is of its own needs and that’s why we must understand and pay more attention to it. The raw, vegan and vegetarian base diet is the way to return to a healthy way of life.

We eat less red meat than we used to but we're not vegans. We have started making veggie smoothies to replace the lunch meal. Small steps.

Thank you Au fait, we owe it to ourselves to try certain things that have been proven to work. As we get older our bodies are less resistant to colds, other sickness and disease. We exercise our bodies lesser and are less active than when in our youth. Therefore, we need to change our diet for the better. When I were younger I used to ask my mom, "hey mom, what's for dinner, she'd reply, cabbage and corn bread. Then I'd say, okay mom, no meat, no eat." She sometimes, wanted us to have meals without meat, poultry or fish, sometimes… and looking back to then, I feel now, that I should have accepted the meatless and fleshless meals because today, my meals are 100% meatless and fleshless. We can be cholesterol free, high blood pressure free, high blood sugar free and free of many diseases that plaque us as we get older. You are on point about genetics, but still… we can change those genetic functions and live much longer if we eat the foods that were meant for us in the beginning of humanity (The Garden of Eden). There is a book published called, Back To Eden? It explains the possibilities and the benefits of eating unprocessed foods especially outside of our own processing. There are too many poisonous chemicals in processed food that we have been consuming for most of our past lives and before we realized that we have been deceived by the food industry. Even as we get older, we should do a certain degree of exercise and drink plenty of water. Today, we have technology that allows us to operate more remotely. We need not get off the couch to turn the television channel or change the radio station anymore. We are prone to do less work and etc. We need to keep the heart pumping as purely and strongly as we can. As we get older we need not bulge in weight as many of us do. We have the tendency to continue eating as we did in our youth. Athletes should change their diets after they retire from playing sports for most of their lives. The benefits of life longevity depends on what's put in the body and how well the body is treated. Thank you so much Au fait for your input and expertise on this subject. Diet is certainly important and I agree that a vegetarian diet is more healthful than eating a lot of meat. I don't totally avoid meat, but I don't go out of my way for it either. If someone is serving meat I will try it, but on my own I rarely include meat in my diet.
My daughter is even more particular and examines the ingredient list of everything she buys. If there is meat product included whereby the animal had to die in order for that product to be available, she won't eat it.
As important as diet is, genetics are important as well. Our genetics, which none of us choose, are the basis for everything in our lives. It can be very difficult to go against the genes programmed into us. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try, because some genetic functions are dependent on triggers. If we manage to avoid those triggers we may avoid diabetes, heart disease, etc., Other genes are programmed to kick in at a particular age and there is no avoiding them.
Even if a person can't prevent certain diseases because they are genetically programmed in, eating a good diet can certainly make a difference in how we feel on a day-to-day basis.

Well Au fait, you're doing something right. Exercising helps you 80% to avoid illness/sickness. You can eat healthy 100% but if you don't exercise, you may still succumb to colds, flu, disease and put on weight. So, keep doing what you're doing and don't let up. Even when I sometimes feel like I'm coming down with something, I step it up by drinking more water and doing a little extra like walking on the treadmill an extra half hour than normal. It works. I avoid meat/poultry, etc. for the most part. Don't make a major effort to avoid them, but don't go out of my way to get them either. I do eat a lot of processed foods, but very little red meat or meat of any kind.
So far, and I have my fingers crossed, I have not had a single cold or flu this school year. That is amazing, especially given that I work with people all day everyday.
My students cough and sneeze on me regularly, daily, and my coworkers are often sick too, yet so far this year I have not yet succumbed. I know, I'm whispering because there are still 7 weeks left in our school year and that is ample time to make up for all the healthy weeks that have passed by catching a horrific flu or cold virus.

I happened to notice your faith, and when reading this hub (although it's not actually all that relevant) I was reminded of this Bible verse, so I thought I would share it.
But on another note, I really could benefit from changing my eating habits. I'd have to say at least 75% of my daily food intake is junkfood

I like your perspective! Very informative. I'm too lazy to juice anything. I'll be the first to admit it. I take probably 10 vitamins a day and walk/hike. I really should start juicing my veggies and fruits. Thank you!
