Val is a life-long practically oriented student of effective emotional and attitudinal responses to the many challenges of life.
First of all, please note that the title of this post started with "My..." -- which is to serve as a sort of disclaimer, in case you miss the one at the bottom.
Namely, we all have our biological individuality, and what may work for one, may not be good for another -- albeit all of the components of my personal health protocol are well advertised on Google and You tube for anyone to try them.
Nevertheless, I am not a doctor, and nothing of the following is to be understood as a qualified medical advice.
Now, that we got this boring formality out of the way, let's see what you could do for your health, of course, supposing that you decided to take it in your own hands.
Let me start by explaining the holistic complexity of my protocol. I always believed, and the so called progressive medicine is supporting it a lot, that the mental/emotional factor plays that pivotal role there, whereas nutrition comes as a good supportive component of it.
For a brief illustration, just think about those Inuit folks at extreme North, and how much their diet is far from that "optimal, balanced" diet recommended in any book of nutrition. No fruits, no veggies, just exclusively fish and meat. We are not even talking here about longevity, but how is it possible for them to survive at all, would be the good question.
While their biology may be adjusted to that harsh environment, they are not different species, and there is no separate biochemistry working for them which would explain sufficiency of their diet.
Which should lead us to the conclusion matching my belief that:
What's going on in our heads and hearts surpasses by its importance anything that goes into our stomach.
Of course, it goes without saying that what we eat is important, we can't live on air alone, or a junk foods alone -- but a little of a common sense should replace all the popular hype over nutritional requirements -- except where it has been established that we are missing something there.
In other words, if we would see it in light of extremes, a very basic diet would do, providing that we are cultivating a positive mindset with good bunch of life-promoting beliefs and emotions.
And on the other hand, we could live by nutrition books, having some "scientifically proven" best foods and supplements -- but if we are maintaining some crap in our heads and hearts, none of that food will make us healthy.
In some other article I once said it in a rather joking way: There is a chemist in us guided by our dominating thoughts and emotions to either turn a crap into a vitamin, or a vitamin into a crap".
What I Consume Each Day
I have seen, or heard about, enough fat cardiologists, messed up shrinks, unhappy looking life coaches and gurus, hateful religionists, even baldies advertising something for hair regrowth -- not to believe any of their crap if they are not a living example of what they preach.
So, here I go with my little list of benefits of my own designed health protocol.
At this age of 76:
-- I haven't seen a doctor in some 14 years
-- Not using any prescription or over the counter meds
-- The oldest in family and the only one not using any glasses
-- Can eat any foods without indigestion
-- Have the same energy and strength as some 3 decades ago
-- No pains, no discomforts
-- Fall asleep in about 3 minutes and sleep like a baby
-- The rest is too private to mention
Am I bragging here?
You bet I am. And it feels good, especially these days when everybody is wandering around like lost puppies, shitless scared of the virus and praying that their politicians bring them quickly some good vaccines.
I don't worry about this crappy virus, because my immune system is strong enough to beat any of those tiny critters.
So, what I put in my mouth may be of the most interest to anyone believing that my robust health comes from that. Okay, I'll tell you, but if you choose to ignore that more important part having to do with mind and heart -- well, knock yourself out with the following dieting part of my protocol.
Who knows, after all, it might even do you some goodness.
So, first of all, I am on intermittent fasting -- not eating anything for 18 hours and eating it all within the frame of 6 hours. I chose no-food hours from 8 P.M. to 2 P.M. the next day.
So I eat my dinner at 2 P.M. -- whatever my wife cooks, no restrictions. At 6 P.M. I have my smoothie, and before 8 P.M. I have 3 boiled eggs with mayo and raw carrots, celery, radishes, and parsley.
By the way, I don't worry about my cholesterol while eating all those eggs daily, because our body naturally produces about 3000 mg of it, and we would have to consume 40 eggs to match that amount.
My smoothie consists of:
-- two handfuls of mixed frozen berries
-- 1 scoop of protein powder
-- 1 scoop of assorted greens powder
-- 1 tbsp. of Chyawanprash, an Indian jam with 48 medicinal herbs
-- 1 tbsp. of MCT oil
-- 1 tsp. of black seed oil
I top it up with warm filtered water, and I make it warm because of those frozen berries which would otherwise make my smoothie colder than I want it.
Once a week I have only this smoothie, which is then the only food that I have in 42 hours. That's for a stronger effect of autophagy -- a process normally triggered by my intermittent fasting, but enhanced -- in which body compensates for lack of protein by dissolving all dead and sick cells, bacteria, viruses, and other junk in the body in that "house cleaning" happy impetus.
Well, that would be all, except for my special tea which I may have 2 - 3 times, and which consists of my own designed and prepared combination of elder flower, gynostemma, nettle, and ashwagandha.
Now, let's get to that other part of my protocol.
We Are Energy Beings
Right after my morning bathroom routine, I sit with my back straight, and do Small Universe meditation for 8 minutes. Originally it calls for half hour, but because of my kundalini exercise which follows, I don't want to overdo the effects.
Small Universe meditation is a breathing practice, at which with every inhalation I visit in my mind one of 12 energy points in my body. With that done, I do my qigong physical exercise for about 15 minutes, after which I sit again and do that kundalini stuff.
Now, whatever you would ever want to try of my protocol, please stay away from kundalini practice, because, unless you are proficient at meditation and you can instantly adapt to strong surges of energy, it might mess up your nerves.
I do kundalini for 10 minutes, and then walk to my balcony window, spend some minutes gazing at the sky and arousing at will my feeling divinely blissful. I like calling it "orgasmic spirituality", because my body gets flooded with indescribable joy, love, and appreciation for being alive.
And that's about time when my wifie wakes up, and we have our morning hug, followed by exchanging that "important information about how many times we went to washroom during night, what we dreamt about..." -- that stuff.
Mentioning my wife, I'd like to expand my bragging a little by saying how in the past 56 years that we have spent together we hardly ever raised our voice on each other. There is a love, harmony, respect, and friendship in this simple home.
Now, other than all that healing and rejuvenating protocol -- which someone might call "exotic" -- I am by all other markers of description an ordinary old fart, unassuming, friendly, simple in any way conceivable.
My psycho-philosophy is heavily based on sciences like epigenetics, quantum physics, psycho-immunology, energy medicine, and mind-body medicine -- and add to it my Eastern convictions about need of removal of ego, that all contributes one way or another to my mental discipline.
While I may be quite known to some, and possibly disliked, for my literary passion to write satires, in all honesty, I don't really give a rat's ass about the world's stupidity. I can't fix something that I didn't start, and to me it's entertaining to observe, and not to get bothered by any of it.
We can't have a good health by being affected by all those crazy news, and allowing ourselves to get brainwashed by political, religious, and medical authorities. So, while my writings may look like a bunch of negativistic crap, I am trying to inspire for de-hypnotizing from social suggestive assaults.
It all goes much deeper than that, but suffice it to say that my mind-style and life-style are heavily insisting on peace, love, harmony and humor.
Indeed, folks, without a good stress management, what is our excuse for sounding so smart, while failing our bodies miserably. When we look in the mirror, that's the reflection of what our mind and heart are producing daily.
For it's a fact that we are upregulating or downregulating the expression of our genes by the way we think and feel throughout the day, what we believe, what attitudes we display. Then genes are signaling our physiology how to function, making all that difference between our health and disease.
These are not some "tenets of New Age", but hard, top shelf science.
With these thoughts I have pretty much covered everything that I wanted to share with you this time. Maybe you could come up with your own protocol that would change the model of your particular psycho-physical functioning.
For, no matter what the medical establishment has made you believe -- your health and your happiness are ultimately in your own hands.
