Something special happens regularly at a bungalow beside where I sometimes reside, a small tree with many lightweight tiny leaves get special visitors daily. The owner of the tree got fed up and cut the tree but within a few months it was back in bloom and the circle started all over again, birds and humans.
All the fuss over a stringy looking tree seemed excessive until I enquired the name of the tree and started researching on why everyone thought so highly of it. Since then I have become a believer in the incredible gift the tree professes and why it just keeps on giving.

The Moringa tree is made up of twelve species and is more indigenous to Africa and Asian countries, the incredible tree comes in different verities from Moringa peregrine to Moringa borziana mattei. Herbal practitioners have discovered many uses for the tree which transcends using the leaves for many health applications such as making balms, soaps and even used in meals.
The Moringa Oleifera is the most common specie cultivated and uses have been found for the entire tree like seeds, flowers, leaves, root, and stem. Other use of the tree are as windbreakers, habitat shade, used to demarcate boundaries, used as vegetable in meals and salads, helps add nitrogen to soil and is good as animal feed.
The Moringa plant has been extensively studied by scientists, professionals and has been seen to have many important nutrients and vitamins that are useful to both humans and animals.

The Moringa flower

Moringa is excellent body supplement however, it may cause heartburn to sensitive stomach. hence, always start using it with small quantities.

Recently, moringa has taken the fancy of many Filipinos. Its curative properties have led many to use it in alost anything they eat - from breads, noodles and other products.
