Details

Prisma Denisse Peralta Reyes is a Hispanic female that stands at 5’2 and weighs around 135 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes, pierced ears, and a tattoo on her back shoulder. She sometimes wears glasses and is endangered missing. She was last seen wearing a red short-sleeved polo shirt with black stripes on shoulders and sleeves, light blue denim Kapri pants, black sneakers with white soles and, she was carrying a large black purse. She was last seen in Dallas Texas.

Background

Prisma Reyes was born in Veracruz Mexico to her mother Lilia. Prisma’s father died shortly after she was born. Four years later Lilia married a man named Dan Fuchs who became Prisma’s stepfather. After a few years, the family moved to Mesquite Texas and she became a US citizen.

Growing up, Prisma was described as outgoing, straightforward and, determined. She graduated from Kemp high school and went to Kaplan college to be a paralegal. While she was in college she fell pregnant with her then-boyfriend Arturo. When she was 6 months pregnant they had an altercation and he kicked her out of their apartment. Prisma’s family said after that time Arturo had nothing to do with his son and they claimed he never paid her any child support but Arturo counters that saying he paid almost $60,000 in child support over the years.

At some point, Prisma decided she wanted to go into the National Guard and was a private first-class rank. She also decided to give up on her paralegal dreams and went to work as a receptionist at a used car dealership sometime in 2018.

In 2016 Prisma started dating a man named Ryan who was much older than she was. That same year the police were called because of a domestic violence issue. Ryan was charged with assault after Prisma was seen to have bruises all over her body. After Ryan got a lesser charge he and Prisma broke up. They began dating other people but in February 2019 the two started to talk again to try and get back together.

One month before her disappearance Prisma bought herself a handgun and mentioned she was concerned that someone was following her or stalking her. The tires on her 2017 White Jeep Wrangler had been slashed and she had just started her new job at the car dealership.

The Incident

On Wednesday, April 17th, 2019, Prisma went to work and got there early enough to get a good parking spot. She later got into a verbal altercation with another co-worker who complained Prisma had stolen her preferred parking spot. She told her superiors about the incident and continued on with her day. At around noon she left for her lunch break and went to meet up with her ex-boyfriend Ryan at the Tex-Mex E Bar on North Haskell Avenue in Dallas Texas. They two got into an altercation and he left the bar while Prisma stayed and continued to order drinks. She stayed there for three hours and the bartender cut her off and told her to leave.

After she left the bar she began driving in the direction of her work but got into a road rage incident where she pulled out her gun on another driver. She then got a call, or made a call on her cell phone, turned the car around, and drove back toward Ryan's apartment. Ryan lived in the Olympus at Ross apartments. She parked her Jeep on the street and ran inside the parking garage and hung around the elevator for several minutes looking visibly agitated. Here she made several phone calls, one was to a family friend named Chris who was out of town on a work trip. He claimed she kept calling him Ryan and sounded angry and upset demanding to know what his apartment number was. She also seemed to be confused and in need of help.

Later that night at around 9:30 pm the babysitter called and reported Prisma as missing as she never came to pick up her son, Dominic. Usually, she picked him up from the babysitters at 7:30 pm but she never showed up this time. The babysitter said she had gotten a call from Prisma on her lunch break and the two talked for about an hour about how her day was going and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, nothing seemed wrong.

Investigation

Police quickly got to work in trying to locate Prisma. They talked to her coworkers, friends, family and, any witnesses that might have seen her that day. They collected the CCTV footage from the E bar and the apartment's parking garage. Unfortunately, there were a lot of places in the apartment that did not have working cameras so she could have left undetected fairly easily. Police and FBI investigated this case thoroughly and searched Ryan’s home and vehicle but found nothing of importance. Ryan claimed he had a date that night and after he left Prisma at the E Bar he went out of town. He did go out of town but it was only 10 miles from his apartment. Cell phone records show his phone pinging in another town while Prisma was still in Dallas.

When the police found her Jeep they found her handgun still inside and also noticed the Jeep was not registered in Prisma’s name. It was an unknown male that was married for 10 years and was one of the last people she had called before she went missing. Phone records show a call to him within the last 24 hours of her last being seen. Police have not released a lot of information on this man, and there is no way of knowing if he was a close friend to Prisma or if the two were romantically involved.

Arturo was investigated and is not currently a suspect. Just a month after Prisma was last seen, Arturo filed for emergency custody of Dominic. The court ruled in favor of Prisma’s parents, however. The family says Arturo has grown a lot and is now in his son’s life and is trying to build a strong relationship with him and the family. Police also noted that to this day, Arturo is cooperating with the police and is actively trying to help locate Prisma.

Theories

One theory is that Prisma was drugged at the bar and taken by either a gang member or someone in human trafficking. This theory isn’t as out there as you might think, this area of Dallas and this Bar, in particular, have had a past problem of women being drugged and assaulted or kidnapped. Two other women who looked similar to Prisma have also gone missing in this area after she disappeared. It is entirely possible she is still alive out there somewhere.

Another theory is that Ryan had something to do with her disappearance. While police say they have evidence to support his alibi of being out of town some people claim he could have just left his cell phone in another location to throw them off the track. A lot of people wondered if this date to reconnect went bad and Ryan got angry with her and something happened either in the parking garage or in the apartment itself. What a lot of people, including Prisma’s stepdad, find odd is that just a few days after the police searched his apartment, Ryan moved out without any warning.

The last theory I’ll discuss is that she may have ended her own life or ran away from the one she had. She had no history of mental illness or depression however the day she was last seen at the elevator she was behaving weirdly. Her family and friends say she would never leave behind her son, he was her whole world. She would never end her life and leave him behind nor would she runaway without taking him with her.

Now

Prisma’s step-father and mother are still searching for their daughter. Dan said he will never give up hope and will follow every lead he can. This investigation is still open and ongoing. Her family hopes she will be found alive and safe and they have no reason to believe she isn’t alive anymore.
