Take Action to Realize Your Dreams
Be an Auntie Mame
Auntie Mame is a 1958 movie about a woman not afraid to try almost anything, She surrounds herself with a variety of people, from conservatives to avant guard 'free thinkers' Her home is always filled with both types, and they visit her daily Mainly because their lifestyles are accepted and equally welcome.
When her brother dies, she inherits her young nephew. She is eager to introduce him to her flamboyant style of living. This is frowned upon by the banker who controls the nephew's inheritance. The banker has also been instructed by Mame's deceased brother not to allow Mame to influence her nephew by her vibrant lifestyle.
Predictably, Mame wins. Her attitude toward life is explained to her nephew "Life is a banquet. But some poor suckers are starving to death."
Make a Plan to Fulfill Your Passions
This is a call to action. The beginning of a movement of self-confidence, a belief in yourself. Maybe you always wanted to sew your own clothes, write a book, sing opera, or walk in a parade. You have wanted to do it all of your life. Consider that now may be the time to make your move.
This isn’t a bucket list. That is for people who feel like they are at the end of their life and want to finish it with a blast. You don’t need a bucket list to get you through the next year, even the next day. Make your move right now!
Doing something new has been on your mind for a long time, right? Does your passion pop into your head from time to time? So, when are you going to get up and do something about it?
Stay Positive
Stop telling yourself that you’ve lost your zoie de vive. You still want to enjoy the finer things in life, right? That desire is still there. It will always be there. You have to reach down deep and bring it up from wherever you pushed it. Don't say, "The time for that is over for me now." That's a negative attitude.
Maybe you can't jump out of an airplane. But riding the Pirate Ship at an amusement park can give you that same rush. There are still many types of excitements waiting for you that can give you happiness.
No more “I’ll get to it one day.” Make today that day. Take a small step toward your happiness. Start the work. What is it you want to do? What would make you happy? Don't you think you deserve to be happy, if just one moment in time? If yes, then do something today toward your desired goal. Pick just one goal. Make a phone call, email, or move a restriction that is preventing you from your successful mission.
Do Positive Things
Don't be afraid to put yourself out there. Be serious about how you want to live your life. Walk and talk about your passions. When the opportunity arises, make your move toward responsible happiness. Be definitive, be confident. Whatever you want is possible to have if you want it bad enough.
Trust yourself - Use your passion and it will give you power. Feel it and others will see it. They won’t be able to ignore you. They will see your inner contentment the closer you get to what you want. But you have to feel the passion within yourself first. What are you waiting for? Right now is the time to make your move. Age really is just a number as long as you keep yourself young inside.
In the end, you know what you want out of your life. You will find happiness inside. The only obstacle is in your head. When will it be time to make your move? Today is a good day to start. No more sitting around the TV set waiting for your dreams to knock on your door. Open the door and walk toward the life you want and deserve. It is never too late. You just have to want it that bad.
Take Your First Cruise
I have always wanted to go on a cruise. Television commercials always depicted life on a cruise as being a fun place to take a vacation. But you have never looked into it.
Do some research. How many days do you want to cruise? Where do you want to go? How much will it cost? You may discover that it doesn't take as much money as you think. You do not need to have a suite or balcony on the ship to enjoy your trip.
Pick a date when to take your vacation. Then, starting now, begin saving a certain amount each week or month for the trip. Be disciplined. Determination and desire is what it will take. For the record, a cruise makes a really good vacation.
A Found a Long-Lost Friend
I spent years trying to track down a person that was a buddy many years ago. Over the years he stayed in my head. Where is he today? What is he up to? Every time I looked through my photo finding and looking at his picture made me smile. I decided to look him up, even though twenty years had passed since we were in touch.
It wasn't easy. One day he showed up on Facebook. When I finally found him, I was too afraid to make the contact. Would he remember me? Would he have good memories of me? Will he brush me off after a few minutes on the telephone? It crippled me until I realized that I had spent years looking for him. now I was afraid to make the effort of one minute dialing his number.
I made the call. He remembered me fondly. We spend hours on the telephone catching up. We have kept in touch ever since.
Finding a long-lost friend has been a happy experience for me. because I never gave up looking for him. I made a decision and took action to reconnect with an old friend. It was and still is a good experience. I am glad I took the chance.
Take Action
In the end, you know what you want out of life. You will find happiness from within. The only obstacle is in your head. When will it be time to make your move?
Today is a good day to start. No more sitting around watching the tv set waiting for your dreams to knock on your door.
Open the door and walk toward the life you want and deserve. It is never too late. You just have to want it that bad.
