Keto really works, and you can even enjoy it.

Thomas is an employed, 32-year-old Man who is still struggling to find his true identity and spirit. He will always speak bluntly.

Before Keto and After! Excuse the face. I have body dysmorphophobia and even now am embarrassed to take shirtless photos, hence the childlike pose.

I know, I know. You've heard it all before. Keto this, Keto that.

I apologize if it seems that I am hopping on a particular bandwagon. In a sense, I suppose that I am. But it's a bandwagon that I would hop on again and again. You see, the key to a true Keto diet lies not in the word "diet." To truly live Keto, you must live Ketogenic lifestyle.

What does that mean? Glad that you asked. Ketosis is a process that takes place in the body after a couple of days spent depriving your body of simple carbohydrates. At that point, Ketosis kicks in and your body begins to use any stored fat for fuel, hence making weight loss super effective and targeted to fat cells.

But you love bread, too don't you? How can you just stop eating it cold turkey one day? The good news is, Keto is so popular now that there are always Keto breads in the bread aisle at most supermarkets I've been to.

At the onset of the 2019 COVID induced lockdown, I met a lovely girl. We were madly infatuated, perhaps in love. She soon moved in. But the thing was, I had severe body fat and Gynecomastia. A quick Google search will explain Gynecomastia or Gyno(shorthand). "Swollen male breast tissue caused by a hormone imbalance. Male breast tissue swells due to reduced male hormones (testosterone) or increased female hormones (estrogen). Causes include puberty, aging, medications, and health conditions that affect hormones." That is a direct quote via Google from I have lived with the condition for as long as I can remember. My soon to be live in girlfriend (fiancee shortly afterwards; ahh the pitfalls of a Pandemic based love story.)

Back to the reason of this article, however. Keto really works if you work it, folks. The timeline between those two photographs was only a mere 3 months. And that was WITHOUT working out with weights, jogging or any real exercise. I did walk about a mile daily, but that is no true way to lose anywhere near what I lost.

The benefits extended beyond just lost weight and body image confidence. I had my blood tested three times throughout my Keto journey. Just to list a few benefits of the diet: my blood pressure normalized, same with cholesterol. My testosterone levels, however were of greatest consequence. I went from borderline needing testosterone replacement therapy to extremely normal levels. This led to quite, shall I say, a pleased sexual partner. I felt invigorated in every single way. Anxiety, while still present, became simply manageable. Yes, I still took my daily 2mg of Klonopin (long acting version of Xanax for those who aren't in the know,) but I almost forgot to take it most days. In fact, it really just came to the point where I would take it near bed time to make sure I slept well.

Please, do your own research. No two bodies are the same. Also, the keto diet, while it allows you to eat as much meat and cheese as you want was like heaven for me, some will dread that. It is a myth that you cannot eat bread, as there are keto friendly breads that actually taste just as great as normal bread.

As with anything you read on the internet, this is my own opinion. If you are struggling to diet and want a lifestyle change, however, I encourage you wholeheartedly to begin today! I wish you all love and peace on this beautiful, Florida, December day.
