How to Get Into a Better Mood

Better moods

Everything happens for a reason in life.

Whether you are living up to your goals or trying to figure out your life in these tough times anything can be an obstacle for you. Moods change all the time and sometimes you do not know what causes them.

Some people have weird changes in moods, making them appear like psychopaths. Others have changed in moods due to the foods they eat.

I have a change in my moods from the different seasons. No matter what bothers your mood changes can be frustrating to others around you.

What can you do to get into a better mood?

Daily exercises get you in a better mood, it works to get me in a better mood. In every workout, I feel great and I feel happier, energetic, and relieved of any stress. Also, I feel motivated by the daily walks.

Try it and see for yourself.

One of the most important parts of your day is to exercise and keep fit. Better moods come with a good laugh too. You feel a release of the bad energy and allow for the good energy into your soul.

Breakfast is another great start to any morning.

I couldn’t go without eating breakfast. I have a better mood after breakfast and feel happier.

I do not keep anything bottled up that would hurt me or that is bothering me, and l let out steam or talk about whatever is on my mind to clear the air.

I work around the house when I feel like it and give myself time to just be. It is normal to feel that way and do that way.

Shopping makes me feel happier. It is the little things I do to make life easier for me. These moods are there to let others know what is making us feel unhappy.

Outdoors gives you positive thoughts. Sunny or not outdoors does make you feel good from the inside. Challenges gave me greater opportunities to feel better. Being kind to others makes one a positive person and I do not think of the negative in my life

A focus on what works best for me is an ideal way of life. I appreciate what I have and do not hope for more. If there is more that is an unexpected bonus for me.

Love life and be up for what comes to you.

Moods change when something bad happens or when you do not get what you want from life. I think a good mood uplifts your positive and confidence. When you feel happy you are healthier and feed yourself with nourishing foods.

Read books that increase your knowledge or novels that take you to fantasy land. Nothing in life is impossible. It is up to you to make your life happy and in a good mood. Staying in a bad mood doesn’t give you a good character.

Bad moods happen to anyone but if you stay in that mood, nothing would be good for you. A good night's sleep puts you in a better mood.

You do not feel exhausted or grumpy. Eat healthily, love yourself, and get out there and keep fit. I make sure to learn something new and to keep fit mentally, and physically I walk.

A common issue to avoid being unhappy is to think positive. If you have negative thoughts write them down to feel better. Get off your chest what makes you feel stressed.

No good keeping quiet about it. These little things make you feel miserable. Cheer up and get on with it. Do not let anything get in the way of your happiness. I harvested olives this season and that improved my moods.

The feeling of happiness and a better mood creates a good atmosphere. You can have everything you ever wanted or needed in your life, but if you are often in a bad mood you would not enjoy anything. Love gives you so much to love for. Little events affect people differently.

An illness or an occasion that you had at home can change your moods, but you do not have to be in that mode all the time. Sometimes you do not know how to cope with a sad event.

You become depressed and sad at the same time. There are many issues that go through your mind and you tend to forget what makes you happy and in a better mood.

Smiles from other people can put you in a better mood. Lifestyle changes can make you feel better about yourself. Anything to do with an active lifestyle can give you a better feel about life.

Identify what put you in that mood.

What made me feel upset?

I solve the problem to make my moods better and move on from that issue.

What works best for you?

What works for you may not work for everybody else. Bad moods are destructive. Heal from inside instead of focusing on the negative get out of that mood.

Devote time to a passion.

Hobbies are encouraging and not stressful. You must avoid being influenced by negativity in your daily routine. Whenever you feel stuck in a rut it is a sign of negativity. Get out of that rut and get yourself to somewhere different.

Enjoy yourself with people who are in a better mood. Writing takes my mind off the negative actions and I feel good about myself.

I heal when I pray and smile and a smile comes on when I feel positive. If you are not the type of person that has a bad mood, you are fooling yourself. I don’t think someone could be in a good mood all the time.

That person is living in denial if they do not get into a bad mood. Mood changes happen to everyone unless you have an illness, you can change that mood.

Be strong and know yourself better than others. Sometimes others know you better than you know yourself.

The way you project yourself out there is the most important to your character. You shouldn’t let bad moods control your lifestyle.

If you do something for gaining happiness you won’t get happiness from that. You get happiness when you do something with happiness. I believe that life is what it is and happiness comes from within. To be in a better mood you need to have control over yourself.

Denise that must feel great to know you have finally got what you have been waiting for 5 days. You can celebrate and enjoy. I am pleased to hear that you feel better and can move on from this episode.

Denise McGill from Fresno CA on November 09, 2020:

My friend, I feel like I can finally breathe. I must have been holding my breath for 5 days waiting to hear what was going to happen. We have gotten the results we were hoping for and the world will be a better place without a president who was no kind of leader. Not even a comedy movie could have cheered me as much as this has.

Devika Primić (author) from Dubrovnik, Croatia on November 06, 2020:

Denise The world is watching the results, it must be anxious for many to actually keep calm. Hope you get the result you hoping for. A comedy movie is the answer out of that mood. Thank you

Denise McGill from Fresno CA on November 05, 2020:

It has been hard to keep a positive mood these past 2 days waiting for the election results. It is as if the entire country is holding its breath waiting to find out who the next president is. I had to step away and watch a funny movie just to keep my stomach calm.

Rajan Singh Jolly from From Mumbai, presently in Jalandhar, INDIA. on November 04, 2020:

So many factors come into play in deciding what your mood will be at any moment. It is good that exercise, even a walk, can really lift up one's mood. A positive attitude, too, works in much the same way.

Audrey Hunt from Pahrump NV on November 04, 2020:

It;s hard to be in a bad mood when you're lucky enough to live high on a mountain top surrounded by lush forests and clean air. I only have to walk out to the deck to be reminded of nature's gifts. This always gives me a big smile and a happy heart.

Linda Crampton from British Columbia, Canada on November 04, 2020:

I strongly agree with your idea that exercise can improve mood. Whenever I am depressed or upset, I try to go for a walk in nature. The walk may not solve my problem, but it improves my mood and sometimes gives me new ideas for dealing with the situation that is worrying me.

We do have attacks of bad moods but if we allow it to overwhelm us, then it becomes a problem. If I am in a bad mood, I listen to where it is coming from and resolve it or let it go.

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on November 02, 2020:

Great ideas for getting into and maintaining a positive mood. And that's so important for our overall health. Thanks!

manatita44 from london on November 02, 2020:

I get into a better mood through the power of prayer and meditation. Starting the day like this at dawn, is rather like putting extra money in the bank, so if you get in a traffic jam and you feel flustered. If your prayer was like 100 dollars, you will still have ninety left.

Meditation clears the inner darkness or cobwebs of the mind and paves the way for a healthier or happier life.

Your content is very beautiful and necessary. I will drop you a line. Lovely Hub!

I enjoyed reading how you tackle the subject of turning a bad mood into a good one. I think that we all find our own methods that work best. You mentioned many good methods in your article.

Tory Peta on October 31, 2020:

Sometimes it can be difficult to not be in a bad mood considering how things as small as weather can affect a person's mood, but sleeping well, laughing a lot, being happy, eating well etc. can signficinatly help.

This is very useful information and these are reminders that most of us need. It was a nice read!

Sally Gulbrandsen from Norfolk on October 31, 2020:

Nature and the outdoors restore my mood everytime. I try to walk daily and take my camera with me whenever I can:)

Adrienne Farricelli I live in the countryside and brisk walks works wonders for me. I enjoy walking and in the wild I find unusual herbal plants. Thank you for stopping by.

Liz Westwood from UK on October 31, 2020:

You give some useful suggestions. As we move towards lockdown situations, this is a very relevant article.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on October 31, 2020:

All good suggestions! Honestly, I don't do bad moods any longer. I'm just thankful to be walking upright and be in good health. Every single day is a good day for me.

Adrienne Farricelli on October 31, 2020:

Hi Devika, I feel the same way. When I feel stressed or not in the best mood, I go for a walk. Solitary walks in the country can do wonders. Walks in the city though tend to irritate me more, unless I have a purpose like buying something that is useful. I think we benefit the best from nature to calm us down and let us see the positive.

Devika Primić (author) from Dubrovnik, Croatia on October 31, 2020:

Hi Eric A good attitude you have there, staying away from others is a good idea. I believe that bad moods are temporary and can be overcome.Thank you

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on October 31, 2020:

I don't think I paid any attention to bad moods until I was about 50 years old. Recognizing them was a great relief. After a few years of practice I just naturally revert into your notions. But sometimes I just feel like wallowing in a foul mood. I stay away from others then '-)

Devika Primić (author) from Dubrovnik, Croatia on October 31, 2020:

Hello Ann, thank you for sharing what makes you feel in a better mood. I often hear people say ''they are not in a good mood.'' It is normal to feel that way. We are in control of our moods to leave as temporary.

Ann Carr from SW England on October 31, 2020:

Walking and gardening for exercise, laughing and talking, all make me feel in a better mood. Just reading this hub has lifted my spirits too! You are always so positive, Devika! I'm positive too but, as you say, we all have times when we're down. I have so much to be positive about and again, like you, I have my writing to boost my brain.

This is a great hub to remind us about all those positive ways to keep happy and inspired. Thank you.
