How to Manifest Money Using the Law of Attraction
Using the Law of Attraction to Get Money
So you want to learn how to manifest money using the law of attraction, huh?
Well, you're not the only one! Trying to manifest cold, hard cash is the first thing that most of us do when we hear about the Law of Attraction (LOA).
After you've read your first Abraham-Hicks book or listened to your first Neville Goddard lecture, it's common to get yourself hyped up for all the riches that will be yours.
Maybe you envision yourself getting a high-paying job, finding a secret inheritance, or even winning the lottery.
Just as people get super hyped thinking about manifesting money, though, it can also be a source of disappointment. (There are two sides to everything--"two ends to every stick," using Abraham terminology.)
It's common to fail at manifesting money at first. In fact, it's one of the more failure-prone desires when it comes to conscious manifestation. After all, you probably know other people who have been into the LOA for years and are not filthy rich yet, even though they've tried to manifest wealth many times.
In fact, right now, since you landed on this article, you might be asking yourself, "Where's my stuff?!" You did your affirmations, you read all the right books, and you tried to think positive, but the money isn't here yet.
What gives? Has the Universe forgotten your desires? Does the Law of Attraction even work?
Well, let me tell you: The Law of Attraction does work. You can use it to manifest money. You can use it to manifest anything.
It's just that, like any skill, most people don't get it right the first time. It takes practice and patience. Don't give up just yet, and take a look at some of the reasons you might be having a hard time below:
Why is Manifesting Money So "Hard"?
If you have friends who are also into manifestation, you might have noticed that they'll each have their strengths and weaknesses. They'll be really good at manifesting some things (let's say, awesome friendships), but not so much other things (such as maybe a healthy romantic relationship).
But almost everyone has challenges when attracting money. It's a nearly universal problem in our culture. "How do I manifest money?" is probably the number one question that people ask LOA gurus and it is even the subject of an entire Abraham-Hicks textbook (Money and the Law of Attraction, which is highly recommended, by the way).
Why is that? Is money just inherently harder to attract than other things?
No. Money is just as easy to attract as anything else.
The problem is that almost everyone has more resistance associated with money than with other subjects. We are conditioned by society to believe all sorts of crazy stories about money, and most of this conditioning is buried deep in the subconscious mind. That's why you might face challenges when it comes to money that you wouldn't with other resources.
You may have heard these gems growing up:
- "Making money is hard."
- "Money doesn't grow on trees."
- "It takes money to make money."
- "You can't make money if you're not already rich."
- "No one became a millionaire by being honest."
These are statements born from a scarcity mentality. They're also not true. Even on an objective level, you can observe that people make money all the time without any upfront investment. You don't have to look very hard to find stories of people who had a unique, creative idea and persisted until they were able to manifest riches from it. These days, it's easier than ever to start a business with no overhead that works off your unique strengths.
In truth, money can be easy to make. It's not like there's some limited supply of it. Money is just made up, so society can simply make more of it as new ideas come into the world that require more exchange.
Knowing that in your head and knowing it with your heart are two different things, though. In order to manifest money, your "head" and "heart" have to be aligned. It is not enough just to know something intellectually; you have to live it. If you don't, you will find yourself constantly frustrated when you try to manifest money.
How do you go about doing that, though?
Identifying Your False Beliefs About Money and Undoing Your Programming
You are made of many parts. To be simplistic about it, you can divide these parts into two broad categories: The parts you are aware of and the parts you are not aware of.
In other words, there are parts of your mind that you are conscious of and other parts you're less conscious of, running in the background of your mind.
All of these parts will attract things into your life through the Law of Attraction.
That's right: It doesn't matter how many affirmations you do with your conscious mind. If there is an unconscious part of you--a piece of your mind you're not even aware of--that believes you can't make money easily, then it will try to manifest that reality for you. It will drag you down and you won't even realize what's happening.
This is an important key that a lot of Law of Attraction material leaves out. I'm actually kind of shocked at how little it is discussed. Positive thinking means nothing if only the surface part of you is on board.
Before you can start attracting things consistently, you have to work towards making these deeper, unconscious parts of you conscious. You need to:
- Figure out that they are there, first of all. This is the most challenging part, but it's also half of the solution on its own. Even just being aware of your subconscious beliefs and processes will allow you to start modifying them.
- Help these parts of yourself rise up to a more conscious level on a day-to-day basis. Develop the habit of recognizing the patterns of thought and where they're coming from. ("God, I wish my wages weren't so low. If only these dumb politicians cared more about the middle class instead of their...wait a minute. Is that you talking, Scarcity Mentality?" "Yeah, what's up? My bros Blame and Helplessness are here, too. Did you want to invite them over?")
- Teach these parts of yourself how to use the Law of Attraction. Think of yourself as a boss. The parts of you are like employees that need to be trained to work with you instead of against your goals. Don't try to get rid of your scarcity mentality. (It's there for a reason; it's trying to help you survive, it's just really bad at it.) Instead, focus on reforming and transforming these processes into an asset that will help you. For example, the part of you that is subconsciously resentful of poverty could use all that energy to come up with creative ideas to make money instead of blaming others for the lack of it.
Yes, you could view all of your beliefs and internal processes as individuals in and of themselves. They are not trying to bother you; they were just trained by society to be a certain way, and in order to protect you, they conformed to crazy beliefs and act according to them.
Just as society trained these parts of you, though, you can also teach them new ways!
How do you do this?
Meditation, my friend. The first and most important step in becoming more conscious is meditation, which is the practice of pulling yourself out of your stream of random thoughts and taking control of your focus.
In order to help yourself and the many parts that make you up, you must train your focus.
Sitting and focusing on your breath (or some other object of focus) for fifteen minutes a day may sound like a waste of time or even counter-productive, but it's not. You'll be shocked to discover what your mind was thinking without your permission all the time!
In order to manifest your desires, you need to have more control over your thoughts. In order to have more control, you need to become aware of the thoughts you habitually think in the first place.
It doesn't have to be anything complicated. Look into mindfulness meditation as an easy start. Devote 15 to 20 minutes a day, preferably in the morning. This will be a good foundation, and from there you can begin to shift your thoughts in a better direction with positive focus.
You might also find...that other weird, magical things start to happen. But I'll leave that for you to discover yourself.
How Do You Manifest Money Using the Law of Attraction?
Once you become more conscious of your daily thoughts, you can lean in the direction of the more popular side of the LOA, which is "positive focus." Now that you're more conscious of what is actually going on in your mind, your affirmations and intentions will have a lot more fuel behind them.
Here are some tips on how to manifest money using the Law of Attraction:
1) Be Flexible With Your Definition of "Wealth"
First of all, remember that being "wealthy" is relative. If you live in a highly developed, Western country, for instance, $1000 might not seem like a lot. It might not even be a month's rent.
However, to someone in a different part of the world, $1000 might be a ton of money. $1000 might buy way more than what it buys in your country, for no particular reason besides location and the country's level of economic development. There are people in the world who live their whole lives on only $2 or $3 per day.
Now, I'm not saying this to depress you. I'm saying this to point out that you may not realize all the riches that already surround you. It may not be in the form of hard cash or numbers in your bank account exactly, but it can certainly be reflected in the infrastructure you take for granted.
If you live in a highly developed country, you were probably born with a lot of wealth and resources that are collectively owned. Think about the roads you drive on, the sidewalks you walk on, the libraries you can borrow from, the education you received for free. Think about the clean drinking water you have access to. Think of all the things that are free for you simply because you happened to have been born into a country with wealth.
Take advantage of those things. Use them as leverage to create more wealth. Your government might even have grants or scholarships that you don't know about that could help you move forward with your goals. Expand your vision to include many sources of wealth and it will help you think of money more creatively.
No matter where you are in the world, and no matter how humble your surroundings, your ancestors left behind resources for you to use--even if it was just a wealth of free information to help you survive.
Which brings us to our next point...
2) Be Grateful for What You Have
The "vibration" of gratitude is closely aligned with the "vibration" of manifesting more of what you're grateful for. Give thanks for what you have every day, especially the things that were provided for you for free by your society.
If you have trouble seeing that, it could be that you have been conditioned to have a scarcity mentality and can only notice the things you lack. This is a common problem, but like any habit, it can be changed over time if you are conscious enough of your thoughts. (That's where meditation comes in.)
A good time for writing down your blessings and everything you're grateful for is right after your daily meditation. Pick a time when you feel most peaceful and ride that wave of gratitude. You could even start a gratitude journal.
3) Don't Over-Focus on Arbitrary Numbers
Maybe you want to manifest a million dollars.
Cool, but what do you want the million dollars for?
On its own, a pile of money does nothing. It only has any kind of power because of you. What do you want to use it for? Focus on that.
You may find that it's hard to manifest money when you're just focusing on a random number because it's not that interesting or inspiring. Think instead about what you will buy with the money. You might even find that you'll manifest that desire directly with no money involved.
4) Turn It Into a Game
Learning how to manifest money using the Law of Attraction is supposed to be fun. It's also not something to be taken too seriously. The point is that you're learning to get playful with money instead of treating it like something that has power over you.
Think of manifestation as a matter of relationships. You are trying to change your relationship with money into a more positive one.
So turn it into a game. Play with your friends and see who can manifest the most random money this month. Have silly rules about how you have to come across the money for it to count. Try to come up with ridiculous ideas to make money and don't get too attached as to whether they will work out.
The only rule is to keep it fun.
5) Visualize the End Result
Visualization can be a very powerful tool for manifesting money--or really anything else. The key is to visualize what your whole life would be like, not just thousands of bills raining down from the sky.
Make it more concrete. Make it realistic so that your mind believes it. What does being wealthy feel like? What does it look like? What does it smell like? What sorts of things would you do if you had all the money you needed?
Visualizations are different from simple idle fantasies because you do them with concentrated intention. You do them with the mindset that you know you are already there. You are training your brain to experience that future reality. This is why it works better to imagine a concrete situation where you are living a wealthy life, rather than just abstract numbers in your account.
Some of the best times to do your visualizations are right before you go to bed (so that your subconscious has something to chew on) and right after you wake up.
Do you have trouble focusing your attention for long enough to have the visualization? This is a common problem. You might end up losing focus and falling into a thread of self-defeating or doubtful thoughts.
No problem, this is where meditation comes in. Learn to meditate. Seriously, it will train you to focus, and then your visualizations will be extremely powerful.
Be Kind to Yourself While You're Learning
Like any skill, you learn over time and get better results as you practice.
Don't beat yourself up if you can't manifest money overnight by the truckloads. Few people are able to do this right off the bat. Even when they can, it's usually just a lucky windfall and then they have trouble replicating it. If you steadily train your manifestation skills over time, on the other hand, you'll be able to use the Law of Attraction much more consistently.
This journey should be one that you enjoy. Remember that the Law of Attraction works best when you're having fun.
