health-spells-wealth

"Health is wealth," is an almost hackneyed maxim that has been here for a long time. For those of us who are already in our adult years, perhaps, we have heard this quote a hundred times in our lifetime. We hear most of the times from the medical field. True indeed health is wealth. But I would like to say more to that, it's not only an "is" but really Health spells Wealth. Let me explain why.

W-is for Work.

Oftentimes many people don't ever realize that health is so much associated with money. They never think that sickness means losing work, and losing work means no money. If they did, they would have taken so much care with their health. But, as I think of it as a whole, being sick actually means being unable to earn any money. When a person cannot work, then that means he cannot earn. In effect, work means money and money is earned from work. Practically speaking, if you take away letter W from the word wealth, you become poor because you are unable to produce any money. Remember this century-year old organizational mantra that says, "No work, no pay."

E-is for Energy.

A sick person lacks energy. He also loses the enthusiasm to do anything. No matter how strong a person might be, once that individual is sick, he loses his natural energy, his inner drive, and even his enthusiasm. Because of this, he could not do any work. Thus, this make him unable to earn any money. Shakti Gawain notes, “Since money is energy, our financial affairs tend to reflect how our life energy is moving. When your creative energy is flowing freely, often your finances are as well. If your energy is blocked, your money does too.”

A-is for Additional bills.

When a person is sick. It means two things-stay at home and do self-medication through natural treatment, or go to the hospital and pay the doctors and nurses for their services. Most of the times, people choose the second option. So when this happens, it means additional bills-hospital or medical bills. Thus, it's another reduction from your income, your money. Michael Moore understand this concept well when he remarks, "The No. 1 cause of bankruptcies is medical bills."

L-is for Loved ones.

Normally, any sick person in the home becomes an additional burden to the family members. This is because the sick individual becomes helpless. He has to depend on others to do anything he is supposed to do for himself. Thus, his loved ones suffer even if he is the only one who is sick. The entire family actually is affected. Patricia Heaton captures this concept when she claims, "It's hard enough to raise a family when your kids are all healthy and relatively normal, but when you add on some kind of disability or disease, it can just be such a burden."

T-is for Time.

Sickness is time consuming. It consumes the time of people taking care of the sick individual. It consumes the time of someone asked to go to the pharmacy to buy medicines. If the sick person is brought to the hospital, it requires the time of the loved one to watch for him in the admission room. It consumes time from the person who gets those herbs from the backyard if the ill individual were to be treated with natural remedies. It simply consumes the time of everyone involved in the caring process. And this means losing money. Why? Benjamin Franklin answers, “Remember that time is money.”

H-is for Happiness.

Getting sick means losing one's happiness. First, it takes away the happiness of an individual who is sick because he could not do the normal things he wants to do. Next, it makes the people connected with the ill person feel sick as well. Thus, sickness takes away the happiness of everyone in the home, if not all. When a person is sick, sadness normally replaces the radiant face. Seldom, can you see a person who is happy when he is sick. If ever there is, it is very rare. Proverbs 17:22(KJV) tells us, "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones."

In Summary

Let's reflect! Do you really want to enjoy Working? Then, take care of your health. Do you want to enjoy having Energy? Take care of your health. Do you want to have Additional bills? of course not. So, care for your health. Do you want to give burdens to your Loved ones?I believe you don't like that either. Do you want to lose Time and spend it in the hospital? No of course! Do you want to be Happy? Yes, indeed yes! Remember, having "good health" is the best wealth that every individual can possess. But taking care of one's health, is the best GIFT every one can give himself and his loved ones. Finally, our loving God wants us all to be happy and healthy. He stated this wish through Apostle John when he expresses, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth (KJV)."
