To open our hearts to love, we must open ourselves to beauty. Most of us love beautiful things such as crystals, jewelry, woodwork, visual art objects, or flowers, to name just a few. Focusing on an object of beauty entails nourishing continuously the creative and intuitive aspects of ourselves and our spiritual connection.

There are people who have no objects of beauty around them, either plants, flowers, works of art, or objects of nature. They live and work in places where they only see walls, computers, machines, and other structures. Living in this kind of environment is suitable for the left-brain functions. What about the right brain and its creative and insightful aspects and people’s need for spiritual connection? Our relationship with the universe runs deep through the physical material from which we are all made, and the energy that underlines this material.

Think about nurturing your soul with beauty. A sense of wonderment and appreciation for beautiful things does wonders to open the heart to gratitude. If you can appreciate the sophisticated design of a tree, the delicacy of a flower, or a wonderfully shaped piece of pottery, it might direct you to love and appreciate the beauty of your own soul. It might open you to be thankful for your life and for the privilege of living this journey on earth.

Notice how much time you spend every day feeling disappointed or offended about something or someone. What if you spent all that time being grateful for what you have and for the beauty around you?

Try this exercise. Find something of beauty, simple or elaborate. Let yourself be completely open to sensing and appreciating the thing of beauty. Let yourself feel the beauty in your body, heart, solar plexus, stomach, arms and legs, and forehead. Let the sense of beauty invigorate and rejuvenate your body. Breathe in the beauty and feel how your body reacts to this feeling. Open your mind to gratitude for this experience of beauty.

Notice the peace and joy it gives you to be in the here and now with this simple object of beauty. What would life be like if you spent more such moments with beauty and with all you have?

Beauty, loveliness, and appreciation are food for the soul. When you decide to open your mind and let yourself bathe in the glow of these feelings on a regular basis, you give yourself the chance to live life in love, harmony, and delight. This will raise the level of your vibrations and will assist you in receiving spiritual Guidance. Higher Guidance is present for you at all times, guiding you on your soul’s journey.

Opening yourself to beauty and feelings of gratitude, with a clear and sincere intention to learn about what loving means to you and to others, will help you open up to receiving the optimal spiritual guidance.

Improve Your Spiritual Health

  1. Delve into your spiritual core. You can start by inquiring about the person you are, your life’s purpose, and what truly gives meaning to your life.
  2. Deal with life’s disappointments and suffering in a healthy way.
  3. Think positively. Positive thinking can have a strong beneficial impact on your physical and mental health. This does not mean that you ignore reality as you understand it or downplay the problems you face. It simply means focusing on the good in any situation at all times.
  4. Learn to do yoga with a qualified instructor and practise yoga on a regular basis.
  5. Take time to meditate every day, even for a few minutes.

How To Connect With Your Higher Self

Create space. When we talk of creating space, we usually think of decluttering our living and working spaces. But creating space means clearing our minds and emotions as well. This is where meditation has an important role to play. When we meditate, we create a harmonious balance between our thoughts and feelings. This helps us tap into our inner wisdom and intuition and soothe the mind in order to tune into a higher state of consciousness.

Watch your breath. Watch your thoughts.

Be gentle with yourself. You do not have to be the best that is, just do the best you can. It is essential to be gentle with yourself especially if you are doing something for the first time, something that is outside your comfort zone, or something that is out of your control. Doing something for the first time can be challenging. Being aware of this fact can help you to develop reasonable expectations and be patient with yourself as you grow and change.

Check if your behavior in life is based on the belief that you can bring something tangible into your life because if you think it, it will happen. If you do believe in that, then let it go.
