I am a massage therapist with 15 years of experience. I am especially interested in crystals, energy healing, numerology, and wellness.
Here we will be discussing how to create a crystal grid for grief of a lost loved one. A crystal grid to protect your soul from shock, calling the angels to clear trauma, heal a broken heart and release pain and sorrow. I will also share a list of crystals commonly used for grief and loss, healing, forgiveness, love, and Angelic help.
Creating a Crystal Grid for Grief of a Loved Who Died
First things first, I'm so sorry for your loss. May the information you find here provide some support and healing as you seek to embrace your late loved one and find the necessary strength to live on without them.
As I'm writing this I am remembering many of my friends and family that have only passed in the past year. So many in just one year and most of them quite young. Let me say it is no accident that you are here reading this. Your guides and angels are helping you along by providing support and acknowledging your loss.
Creating a Crystal grid for a lost loved one I've found is one of the most comforting and healing things I've ever done for myself. It opens and allows a safe space for your thoughts and feelings. There is a big difference in creating a grid like this than those times when you are creating them for other intentions because usually when dealing with a loss we are very emotionally charged. You may find you are noticing the energy of the grid to be much stronger. The energy I've felt for each grid I've done regarding loss has been very different for each person that has passed. I hope you will share your experiences here. It will surely help others who are wanting to create one for their loved ones.
Preparing The Space to Heal Your Grief
The purpose of creating this type of grid is suppose to be healing, clearing and freeing so first clearing the energy in the room can be a good start. You can do this quickly by smudging the room with white sage or incense. There are many other types of smudges you can use if white sage isn't available such as sweetgrass, cedar, lavender, or even using resins like frankincense and myrrh. If you don't have those just using some store bought incense that you like will work as the clearing of the energy mostly comes from you and your own intentions. This process will help you center yourself and get you ready to create your Crystal Grid.
If you have never Smudged before you can learn more about it and even purchase White Sage here: White Sage for Spiritual Energy Clearing.
Selecting Crystals for Grief and Loss
When creating a crystal grid you want to choose stones and crystals that are in line with your purpose or intention in this case a healing grid for grieving your loss loved one. I want to first mention that this crystal grid is about your intentions and your healing so there are no right or wrong crystals. There are many guides online books and videos designed to help with the selection process but using your own intuition and crystals that you are drawn to will most likely have the most benefit for you. So keep this in mind when selecting or buying crystals for your crystal grids. I have created a table of some suggestions below to assist with selecting crystals that are known for helping with grieving, forgiveness, love, and even asking Angels for their assistance. I will mention a few here and how they can help in order to guide you on selecting the right crystals.
Rose Quartz is one of the most popular crystals to use for healing the heart especially a broken heart. Rose quartz can fill your whole being with loving support and help you find forgiveness where necessary.
Ruby in Zoisite, a good stone for dealing with grief. It helps with the grieving process by facilitating the release of pain and sorrow. If you can't seem to let go or are filled with anger or rage this stone understands and will help you let it out, not by stopping the rage but by allowing you to move through that emotion. There is nothing wrong with rage and anger because each emotion has its place. Ruby in Zoisite understands this and will assist in moving from that emotion onward to allow progress for you to see light in the present moment no matter how dark it may appear.
Once you've moved on to the emotion of grief, Apache Tear will help with cleansing this emotion. Apache Tear is the clearer form of obsidian and is the perfect receptacle for grief and tears. It will take all the negativity you can throw at it and change it into something beautiful and if you still need it it will hold a safe space for you to grieve. This stone is also known as a stone of protection so you can count on it providing a safe space for your to grieve and heal.
If you can't find Apache tears you could also look for Snowflake obsidian, another one of my favorites. Helps bring purity on all levels and encourages understanding and realignment of thought patterns.
Lets call the Angels!
Mangano Calcite can help when only the Angels can do it. You feel all is lost and its time to surround yourself with angelic friends to lift you up out of the pit of despair. Magano Calcite is particular helpful for connecting with the angels and clearing any trauma or traumatic experiences. Mangano Calcite is what you need if you have allowed yourself to shutdown emotionally. It can help you open your heart once more.
These are just a few of my suggestions. You can find more in the table below separated by catergory: Love, Healing, Grief, Forgiveness, and Angelic Help.
O God, come to my assistance; O Lord, hurry to help me. Please take the consuming anguish I feel right now; take it from me and hold me in Your arms. Heal my broken heart and bind up my wounds
— Psalm 147:3
Choose a Picture of The Deceased
After you have cleared your space with White Sage or any other method you choose it is time to select a picture to include in your grid. I feel it is important to choose one that you really like that has the most meaning to you. Since this is about you healing and sending them loving energy to them it may also be a picture of you and them together. If a picture is not available for this person it can be a personal object of theirs. If none of those are accessible to you then you can simply write their name or even write a letter or poem as the energy you put into it is what counts. You can also do both. Feel free to make this as creative or as simple as you choose. Writing a letter can be extremely healing as you may have not had a chance to say goodbye. You could even choose to read it aloud before you place it in the center of your grid.

Make It Simple
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. I hope you have found all you need to begin creating your crystal grid.
Remember that crystal grids can be as complicated or as easy as you would like them to be. You don't have to be an experienced Crystal Healer to create one. As a matter of fact it can get a simple as putting only one stone over a picture and calling it a day.
There is so much information on how to and what not to, so please don't let this confuse an already difficult time for you. I tried to make this seem as simple and easy as I could. Hopefully I accomplished that and helped you along your journey.
Peace, Love and Light to you all.
