Cleansing food refers to a diet that eliminates toxins from the body - detoxification. Some people perform a stringent cleansing diet that is short-term but extreme. The extreme diet uses detox food and other means, such as not eating certain kinds of food while on the cleanse that keeps the process short.

You can eat detox food your whole life to keep your body in shape and vibrant, which is the intent of learning about cleansing food in this article. The types of cleansing diets vary and depend on personal preference.

They tend to follow basic principles that are effective and temporary. Basic principles include:

  • Eat only organic foods and stop ingesting harmful chemicals like pesticides, alcohol, drugs, nicotine, and diet drinks that contain modified sweeteners.
  • Eat only foods that contain vitamins, minerals, nutrients, and antioxidants, in general, because they help detox the body.
  • Eat foods that help the body eliminate food from the body, like fiber-rich foods and water.

Some cleansing diets consist of juicing fresh fruit and vegetables without eating any solid food. Others include solid food like fruits and vegetables, and some consist of a variety of foods.

Adding cleansing food to your daily diet helps you experience a revived and healthier body. Foods that detoxify the body lowers its weight while cleansing -- even helps you look better and better each day.

You need to double the amount of water you drink a day — more water than what you usually drink as you include these detox foods in your daily diet.

If you drink four cups of water a day, you need to increase it to eight cups a day. If you drink six cups of water a day, you need to increase it to 12 cups and so forth. The more water you drink, the better it is for your body.

2. Green Leaf Vegetables

Chlorophyll is a great liver protector.

Kenna, I just mixed water, ice, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper in the blender as a detox drink. It’s really hot! I buy organic cayenne pepper at Aldi for a fraction of what it would cost at Giant Eagle.

Gregory, I love lemon and water and used to drink it every morning to break my fast. Now, I am drinking organic, unrefined apple cider vinegar. It's easier to prepare and cheaper. Sometimes, I long for some lemon and water in the morning and make me a drink. Copious amounts of organic cayenne pepper!! Wow! I drink cayenne pepper with lemon water. It's a great cleanser. Keep up the healthy lifestyle and you will benefit for years to come.

Thank you for an informative article. I’ve been drinking 2-4 liters of water with lemon juice for years. I also stir fry vegetables with copious amounts of organic cayenne pepper.
