Blood Pressure - Deep Breathing During Test
It's 5:30 a.m. I'm normally at work by this time, but today I'm getting tested for allergies. I have been keeping a food diary, plus my blood pressure. It's a routine I am in from the beginning of my daily blood pressure readings five years ago.
So. Since my doctor's have been making me breathe deeply to listen to my lungs, I decided to do that during my testing.
Normally, I hold my breath.
Initially, when I sat down to test at 5:20 a.m., it came up 134/90/73. That is high.
So. At 5:40, 5:35, 5:50 and 5:51 a.m., I took my readings while I sucked air deeply into my lungs.
The result?
My four readings were thus:
108/82/70
108/79/83
116/80/77
120/69/75
So. What did I learn? That breathing is a large part of relaxing for my blood pressure reading.
