Aloe Vera Colon Cleanse

Hi, I'm Sam, I enjoy writing about nutrition and health-related topics, especially alternative and plant-based remedies.

Aloe vera is widely used for its laxative properties. The most common use for aloe vera, even outside of the natural medicine world, is as a laxative. It is often a component used in pills designed to relieve constipation, but even on its own, aloe vera juice and aloe vera gel can be great for this application.

This is not where the benefits to your digestive tract end, however. An aloe vera colon cleanse can be a great way to detoxify your body and reset a system that has been giving you trouble. Aloe vera colon cleanse tablets are a great way to get the benefits of this plant, but there is also aloe vera colon cleanse juice available to those who prefer to take their aloe vera in that manner.

Before starting a colon cleanse with aloe vera, it is important to carefully research aloe vera colon cleanse side effects and to make sure that this is the right option for you. Most people find that it is—as this type of cleanse is much more natural and therefore much safer than other types of cleanses. Here is everything you need to know about aloe vera colon cleanser, its side effects, and how to know whether or not this option is right for you:

What Is a Colon Cleanse?

At its most basic level, a colon cleanse is a thorough cleaning of your colon. The colon is often called the large intestine, and it is a very important part of digesting your food and eliminating.

It is the last stage of digestion, pulling any remaining salt and nutrients out of the food that you eat and converting it into fecal matter. This organ is lined with muscles, which push the matter along, towards the end of the colon, where it is then expelled from the body.

Those who struggle with having regular bowel movements, who want to lose weight, or who find that they are experiencing discomfort in their large intestine will often find a colon cleanse beneficial.

A colon cleanse is essentially removing any matter and toxins that may be stuck in your large intestine. Even if your system is regular, you may not actually be eliminating all of the waste from your body when you go to the bathroom. Anything that is left behind or that lingers in your system can not just make you feel uncomfortable or cause constipation, it can actually become a serious problem. Toxins that remain in your system will continue to make you feel sick, while leftover matter can create a blockage or an infection in your colon.

A total colon cleanse may also be helpful for those with irritable bowel syndrome or a similar disease that affects the bowels negatively. Cleaning out all of the toxins and leftover matter, while also soothing the bowels, can help to reset the system and prevent further irritation and inflammation from becoming a problem.

Is Colon Cleansing Necessary?

For most people, an aloe vera colon cleanse is not strictly necessary. Many doctors will recommend a colon cleanse for those who have been having issues with their digestion, just to completely clear out the digestive tract and allow the body to start over. One of these cleanses, paired with shifting to a healthier diet, can ensure that your body is healthy and processing the food that you eat correctly.

Why Choose an Aloe Vera Colon Cleanse?

One of the reasons that some doctors will recommend that their patients stay away from colon cleanses is because the excess amount of liquid in the system can have adverse negative side effects. Most of these adverse negative side effects are actually alleviated if you do an aloe vera colon cleanse. Some of the benefits of choosing this type of colon cleanser include:

Less irritation

Not all colon cleansers will soothe irritation. Some formulas and methods can actually cause more irritation, especially those that recommend using cayenne pepper in order to stimulate bowel function. People who already have irritated bowels will probably not want to use one of the methods that recommends this type of cleanse, simply because it could actually make the problem worse.

Aloe vera, on the other hand, can cleanse the colon, without irritating it. The water and nutrients that make up this plant will get the system moving, absorb toxins so they can be eliminated, and break down any matter that might be lingering in the body.

Actually absorbs toxins

One of the biggest benefits of choosing an aloe vera colon cleanse is that aloe vera is great at absorbing and neutralizing toxins. This is part of what makes it so great as a topical application for your skin—it contains antioxidants that track down and eliminate free radicals and other toxins. On the surface of your skin, this can combat damage and even skin cancer. In your digestive tract, it can help to find and resolve infections and discomfort that you might be experiencing due to toxins.

Provides adequate moisture

Most colon cleanses requires you to take in a large amount of moisture. Just plain water, however, can leave you with a serious electrolyte imbalance and can even create a situation in which you are extremely dehydrated. Aloe vera is a better choice because, unlike water, it contains many of the salts and other nutrients that the body needs. It will actually nourish your body, while also providing the moisture that gets your bowels moving and cleans them out.

Can detoxify the rest of the body

Aloe vera is not just great at detoxifying your bowels. While it is in your system, it will also be detoxifying the rest of your body, from your liver to your bloodstream, to your stomach and beyond. If you want a cleanse that will do double duty, by cleaning out your colon and the rest of your body, then aloe vera is a good option.

Nourishes You While Cleansing

One of the biggest drawbacks of other systems is that you have to completely wipe your system. This is not usually possible for people that suffer from low blood sugar or other issues that require them to have certain levels of vitamins, minerals, or nutrients in their system. Luckily, an aloe vera cleanse solves many of these problems. Instead of using just water, which can water your entire system down, you will be introducing necessary amino acids, enzymes, minerals, and vitamins back into your system.

An aloe vera colon cleanse can be a great way to reset any issues you may be experiencing in your system, or even just to prep your body for losing weight. It eliminates many of the drawbacks of a traditional cleanse and makes it much safer, while usually being more effective.
