It is probably true that a lot of us really need to drink more water during the day.

It might be true that energy drinks and coffee make it easier to get through a long day at work, but they aren't good for our health in so many ways.

To keep all of our cells functioning at their best, we all require a sufficient supply of clean, fresh water every single day.

There are many benefits to drinking enough water including improving the appearance of your skin.

As well water helps us to stay younger for longer, and water can even relieve pain in our joints.

Unfortunately, remembering to drink water throughout the day is surprisingly difficult. This is especially true if you have a very busy schedule.


1. Make A Clock On The Side Of Your Water Bottle.

You can do this by using a marker and drawing lines on the side of the water bottle showing a specific time.

However, since this is such a popular technique you can actually buy water bottles with lines on the side of them indicating the time.

The goal is to have a large enough bottle that you can drink a lot of water during the day.

If you need to refill your bottle at work, the lines can be 8, 10, 12, and 2 for the first half of the day, then 4, 6, 8, and 10 for the second half.

It's entirely up to you how rapidly you drink your allotted water, but the more water you drink the better results you will achieve.

2. Always Keep A Bottle Of Water On Hand

This is important. It can be difficult to remember that you should be drinking water all the time if you don't have any on you.

A good idea is to carry a refillable water bottle with you wherever you go. It is a good way as you stand a better chance of actually fulfilling your quote of drinking water during the day.

You might want to consider carrying a large enough bottle so that don't have to run between the kitchen and your desk to refill the bottle too often when at work.

You will be able to buy refillable bottles in full gallon sizes either online or at most kitchen stores.

Though this may appear to be a simple solution to drinking more water, the truth is that when it is convenient, you are much more likely to drink more water.

3. Drink A Glass Of Water Before And After Each Meal

If you can get into the habit of doing this, it won’t be too long before you don’t even have to think about it.

For example, whether you are eating a meal or a snack, drink a full glass of water at the same time.

You might forget to drink water during the day, but at least doing it around a meal can help you start a routine of drinking more water.

Drinking water during a meal provides additional advantages.

Water can help with digestion, which means you are less likely to have stomach pain.

As well, it can make you feel fuller, which means you are less likely to overeat at a meal.


4. Use Your Phone To Set Alarms.

This is a great idea since you will always have your phone with you. Set a few alarms throughout the day to remind you to drink water.

Setting an alarm will make it easier for you to remember to drink your water.

Just remember to not ignore the alarm otherwise the plan for drinking more water won’t work.

As well, If you have a fitness or smartwatch, you could use it to set alerts to remind you to drink more water.

Another good point is to use these reminders as a way to get a little exercise.

If you are at the office, consider going for a walk around the block or at least get up and walk around for a bit.

When you get to stretch your limbs and have a drink of water, you get to do two things that are good for you at the same time.

5. Add Some Flavour To The Water

If you find water to be tasteless and boring, you might consider adding some flavor to it.

You can muddle fresh herbs like mint and basil into your water. Or you can squeeze some fresh lemon or lime juice into the water and then toss in the wedge.
