I like that you mentioned using a mirror! I used a mirror when I wanted to raise my confidence level.

What I did was, I looked at myself in the mirror and I repeated the phrase, "I am confident, I express confidence outwardly" over and over. It took less than a week for my self-confidence to increase and I was able to look people in the eye without feeling inferior.
