Tribal Wars Training Guide - 0 to 3000 Points

Tribal Wars isn't easy. "What should I do first? Which building should I build? How many troops should I have?" This Tribal Wars Training Guide hopes to answer all these questions and give you even more tips to help you succeed in Tribal Wars. This training guide will take you from starting out on your first world with your first noob village to a 3000 point capital of your Tribal Wars empire, this guide isn't just about surviving in Tribal Wars, it's about thriving in Tribal Wars.

From 0 to 500 Points

Tribal Wars Guide

At first you'll want to focus on resources (wood, clay and iron), resources are required to do everything from build buildings to get troops so they're very important and the earlier you have a steady supply of them the earlier you'll be able to really grow your points.

If you're attacked you'll lose resources to your attacker so if one of the neighboring villages attacks you get a wall and build a few spears (requires a barracks).

First upgrade your resources to:

Timber Camp: 17

Clay Pit: 17

Iron Mine: 17

Then get your village headquarters and warehouse to a decent level for now:

Village HQ: 5

Warehouse: 14

Then you should build a few smaller necessities:

Barracks: 1

Market : 1

Farm: 4

Hiding Place: 4

Wall: 5

Never join a tribe too early, but don't wait too late either, if you have someone near you with higher points try joining their tribe so they don't noble you.

From 500 to 600 Points

Tribal Wars Guide

This may seam contradictory to guide for building up your points but when you reach 500 points you'll actually want to slow your gain of points and build your defense. This order seams to work best:

1) Upgrade your barracks to level 5

2) Upgrade your farm to level 6

3) Build a smithy

4) Research swords

5) Then build 400 swords and 400 spears for defense

6) To build troops faster upgrade your barracks to level 10

7) To accommodate more troops you'll need to upgrade your farm to 11

Village HQ: 5

Barracks: 10

Smithy: 1

Market: 1

Timber Camp: 17

Clay Pit: 17

Iron Mine: 17

Farm: 11

Warehouse: 14

Hiding Place: 4

Wall: 5

Resources & Troops

Remember to build resources and troops or you'll grow too slowly or fall pray to another village after all your hard work.

From 600 to 1000 Points

Tribal Wars Guide

The resources you get from your Timber camp, Clay pit and Iron mine are fine but at this point you'll need to gather more resources from elsewhere to continue to grow faster then your neighbor villages. To do this you'll need to farm the villages around you, basically you'll attack them (which is why good defense is a plus, in case they attack back) and your troops will bring you back resources if they're successful.

1) Upgrade your Timber camp and Clay pit to level 20

2) Upgrade your Iron mine and warehouse to level 18

3) Build more defensive troops

4) Upgrade your Village HQ to level 10

5) Upgrade your smithy to level 5

6) Build a stable and upgrade it to level 3

7) Research scouts and light cavalry

8) Build 100 scouts and start scouting the villages around you with about 20 scouts each so you leave at least 60 scouts at home

9) Build 35 light cavalry and start attacking the villages you scouted with very little troops

10) Build more cavalry with the resources you farm from other villages

11) Build your wall up to level 15 with the resources your village makes

Your villages should look like this at 1000 points:

Village HQ: 10

Barracks: 10

Stables: 3

Smithy: 5

Market: 1

Timber Camp: 20

Clay Pit: 20

Iron Mine: 18

Farm: 16

Warehouse: 18

Hiding Place: 4

Wall: 15

For each question, choose the best answer. The answer key is below.

  1. Which of these is NOT a resource in Tribal Wars?
    • Clay
    • Wood
    • Stone
    • Iron
  2. What will be the name of the sequel to Tribal Wars?
    • Tribal Wars: Empires
    • Tribal Wars: Legacy
    • Tribal Wars: New Era
    • Tribal Wars 2
  3. What is the name of the unit that you use to capture other villages?
    • Spear
    • Noble
    • Sword
    • Cavalry

Answer Key

  1. Stone
  2. Tribal Wars 2
  3. Spear

From 1000 to 2000 Points

Tribal Wars Guide

So far you've built your defense and learned how to gather even more resources then your village alone can generate, now it's time for you to prepare for warfare and build up your resources so that you have a stable income.

1) Upgrade your Village HQ to level 20

2) Upgrade your market to level 10

3) Upgrade your Timber camp and Clay pit to level 24

4) Upgrade your Iron mine to level 22

5) Make sure you have about 1400 spears and 1400 swords by now, build the spears first

6) Make sure you have about 500 scouts

Your villages should look like this at 2000 points:

Village HQ: 20

Barracks: 10

Stables: 3

Smithy: 5

Market: 10

Timber Camp: 24

Clay Pit: 24

Iron Mine: 22

Farm: 22

Warehouse: 18

Hiding Place: 4

Wall: 20

Spears, Swords then Scouts

We build the spears first so we can use the leftover iron to start making swords right away, then we build the scouts last since they're the most expensive.

From 2000 to 3000 Points

Tribal Wars Guide

This is the final growing stage for your first village, the most important building now is your smithy because it allows you to research new troops and eventually build your academy which you'll use to conquer other villages.

1) Upgrade your Iron mine to level 24

2) Research axemen

3) Upgrade your warehouse to level 20

4) Build about 500 axemen

5) Upgrade your smithy to level 20

4) Make sure you have about 350 light cavalry and 750 scouts

6) Make sure you have at least 2000 swords and 2000 spears

Congratulations, at 3000 points your village will look like this:

Village HQ: 20

Barracks: 10

Stables: 10

Smithy: 20

Market: 12

Timber Camp: 24

Clay Pit: 24

Iron Mine: 24

Farm: 22

Warehouse: 20

Hiding Place: 4

Wall: 20

Nice guide thanks bro

anonymous on August 24, 2013:

Seems to be a great guide. Gonna give it a try. Question: What about worlds that include archers and mounted archers?

anonymous on March 19, 2013:

anonymous on February 18, 2013:

Nice ideas and tips!

anonymous on February 14, 2013:

Awesome guide

anonymous on December 08, 2012:

wow. thanks for the guide :) maybe i should be more patient with building up my villa

anonymous on December 05, 2012:

@anonymous: I'm doing the same thing, in the beginning you evolve as fast as the villages around you, but you stand way stronger in the end.

anonymous on November 26, 2012:

Works like a charm!

anonymous on September 03, 2012:

I'm following this guide now, i'll reply when i'm done with it!

anonymous on August 22, 2012:

you are awesome! i learned a lot about TW so thanks!! very good guide!

anonymous on August 14, 2012:

@anonymous: I'm 62! :D

What's ur village coodinate number?

anonymous on July 21, 2012:

I love this guide easy to understand especially for someone who is brand new to TW, also found it very helpful when playing 2 different worlds! so thanks :)

anonymous on July 10, 2012:

@anonymous: Well, to be fair, you can still _adapt_ certain features from this guide with the new tutorial system.

Example, UK world 13, 149, Camps are 7, 6, 6. I just factor in the quests when it suits me / I need resources.

anonymous on July 05, 2012:

Sadly this is out of date on the new worlds with the tutorial act.. :(

But great guide!

anonymous on June 27, 2012:

@anonymous: yea, i think so too

anonymous on June 20, 2012:

Thanks this is really helpful you should be proud

anonymous on June 17, 2012:

I don't think it includes archers in the guide.

It's a good guide despite this

Gregory12 LM on June 08, 2012:

great guide

anonymous on May 16, 2012:

@anonymous: With resources so high, I have really expanded really fast. I'm still in the middle of nowhere on the edge of the map in world 60, but I almost have 2000 points! This guide is great. Thanks.

anonymous on May 16, 2012:

@wolfie10: I have 3 different accounts to make sure I don't get essed with

anonymous on May 16, 2012:

@anonymous: I am. it is so much easier cause they start you with really high recorse areas

anonymous on May 08, 2012:

I'm finding this very useful, I'm simply unbeatable in terms of defense, so thanks. Any chance you can create a guide beyond 3000 points, I'd just like to see what most people do to become warriors of Tribal Wars e.g. people in tribes in Worlds 13 etc. and develop a way in which will help ALL of my tribesmen.

anonymous on April 24, 2012:

@anonymous: Are you in world 62?

anonymous on April 19, 2012:

anonymous on April 17, 2012:

I don't play a lot any more so I have just concentrate on supporting others. If I survive for a will I build up my spears and swords to 11600 + each and send them to someone else to defend. I don't even join a tribe. I get a kick out of seeing a rimmed player smashing his attackers when he only has 1200 points or so. I also supply him/her with resources to build up and to train offensive troops.

anonymous on April 12, 2012:

Thanks man, worked really well! although I'm not about creating those axemen so late in the game but anyway thanks alot! :)

anonymous on April 08, 2012:

is lvl 17 not a little bit high at the start? just a question.

anonymous on March 10, 2012:

@anonymous: That's true on normal worlds, but in the case of new players on worlds such as 61 with "limited haul" this guide is actually very helpful.

anonymous on February 19, 2012:

@anonymous: some worlds don't have archers...

anonymous on February 06, 2012:

Thanks for the guide. It works really well on "limited-haul" worlds!

anonymous on February 04, 2012:

Thank you for the guide; it was very helpful!

wolfie10 on January 06, 2012:

to help your resources i started farming as soon soon as i could. player around you may have just started as well and you take the closest ones first.

when you stop playing the best thing to do is to send your troops away for however long you think you are going to be away from your computer unless you have joined a strong tribe.

split your troop up into smaller groups for farming as nothing worse then getting to a village and someone has just taken all the resouses from there.

another option is to get a co-player in another time zone

anonymous on January 01, 2012:

@anonymous: 5 mil points on only 6 villages isnt possible!

anonymous on January 01, 2012:

Nice guide :D :D :D

anonymous on November 25, 2011:

Why don't u train archers? I am not very good at this game, but if u train 1000 archers and 500 spears, i will guess u got a very strong defense....

anonymous on November 03, 2011:

This guide is okay at best... I only stumbled upon it when looking at some other things. This is only strategy for a mixed vill. Many players use a quick offensive vill. For example, Don't even upgrade your rez levels past 10 and just concentrate on pumpin out spearmen to farm until you get LC. Build swords only if attacked or threat of attack is prominent. You should try to maintain 100% efficiency on HQ Barracks Stable and Workshop (if you have all buildings). You should have a stable and pumpin out LCs when you hit 300 pts. The key to this game is active farming. If you follow this guideline and you have an aggressive player near you, you will fall behind badly.

anonymous on October 22, 2011:

If there was a love button, i would have clicked it

anonymous on October 11, 2011:

how long should this take on world 59?

anonymous on October 10, 2011:

imma stating wolrd 59... with the 15 tech is this gonna be any different besides no archers or pallys and no churches???

anonymous on September 21, 2011:

You should keep upgrading barracks and stable, right?

Just thinking its really smart if you get wiped out, so yo can get your defense and offensive up as quickly as possible, so you don't stay down for so long.

great guide btw!

anonymous on September 19, 2011:

@anonymous: One it might be typo and once u get ur village maxed 20 market helps.

anonymous on August 15, 2011:

Hey, great guide, but why does the market have to go to 12, shouldnt it stop at 10?

anonymous on July 23, 2011:

awesome guise add me w 46 pichollsrules

good guide

anonymous on July 17, 2011:

@anonymous: then you dont have to worry about people stealing your resources

anonymous on July 11, 2011:

graet guide im on w55 7 villages 50000 points great guide help me on all of my villages

anonymous on June 18, 2011:

@anonymous: good guide it helped me on all my villages in w55 5 mil points 6 villages

really good guide

anonymous on June 15, 2011:

Hi great guide thanks for the help, i found this useful because i went kind of mad upgrading my resources, but now i see that i was just about right :)

anonymous on May 20, 2011:

I am really good on speed world with this thanks.

anonymous on May 01, 2011:

Hi World 56 can't farm, so what can I do in there?

anonymous on April 28, 2011:

See, I play with different tactics, as everyone does.

I'm not much of a farmer, I use it alot though.

I keep all my resouce places the same level, as well as my farm and my warehouse. Why? becuase it allows for more troops to be made in a bulk. It also allows alot of upgrading while bringing in ALOT more troops.

Just saying, good guide though.

anonymous on April 10, 2011:

It helps to stock up on iron in the early period. In the market people pay huge amounts for it. I once got 3000 wood for 800 iron

anonymous on April 07, 2011:

@Candor: Thanks mate i have got 8.435 point on world 54 now nobled three villages

And on world 55 i have 1.953 points so thanks alot.

anonymous on March 10, 2011:

@anonymous: Nice Giude! im now in prgress of following this untill 3000 points thanks.

anonymous on March 09, 2011:

Hi I am .firekill. of Worlds 26, 28, 31, 53, 54 and 55 I have been using your guide to build up my only village on World 53 so far I have 903 points and I am rank 2,539 on the leaderboard and rank 82 in my continent and rank 4744 in awards. I dont have a tribe yet but I am planning on remaking my old tribe called The Blood Knights (The others ditched me when my girlfriend dumped me) anyway cool guide I need you to make more guides on how to make a pure offensive village of 5,000+ points and a pure defensive village of 5,000+ points.

anonymous on March 02, 2011:

@Candor: This Worked so well im on my 5th village and 15,000 points this is amazing thanks soooooo much! x p.s i`m on world 55

Candor (author) on February 21, 2011:

@anonymous: This guide is only up to 3000 points, everything after that (the Academy, for example) is up to you.

anonymous on February 21, 2011:

What About The academy And the workshop?

Anyway on world 54 Doing great by following this.

anonymous on December 15, 2010:

@anonymous: agree with you there

want a scout vill get 2000scouts swords and or spear

want a defence vill get 10000spear/sword and 1000 heavy cav

i am on world 36 in ENEMY or proper name Nemisis

anonymous on December 12, 2010:

Its a good guide for tribal if you just started

anonymous on October 27, 2010:

I am Deniom. W41 & W49

Talk to me, im bored.

anonymous on October 11, 2010:

you've forgot one thing: the academy! but this is a very good guide with tips that really help and you can learn very much of it. I had started with tribal wars when I saw this and I have followed everything in and in less than one month i have 3000 points thank you very much! good job!

anonymous on October 10, 2010:

@anonymous: wow awsome guide man i am doing a bet with my mate that i can get to my second village quicker than he can and so far i am beating him because of this guide my game name is .firekill. and my worlds are 26 28 and 51 but i also have .firelord. which is in world 26 28 31 35 and 49 which is the one i used the guide on in world 49 so anyway thanks for the guide it is awesome.

anonymous on October 01, 2010:

This guide is good for players who don't have much time to concentrate on the game. If you have a lot of time on your hands, playing highly offensively will be better. If someone followed the guide near me, they would be a nice farm. For you people who can check on your village at just about anytime, I advise you to play entirely offensive. As long as you see the attack coming, it is easy to dodge with your offense and shadow the army. Threat destroyed and new farm added. I personally get 300-500 spears as I get my resources to 17. I farm like mad until I get a stable and then concentrate entirely on LC until I get 2000. I'll then be completely draining every village in a 15x15 radius. The only downside to this, is that there won't be many good villages around to noble. I noble at a distance anyways, so I can have more farming room.

Otherwise, great guide. ^_^

anonymous on September 24, 2010:

This is probably for a Defensive village right? You would build axes and LC for an offensive. Instead of swords and spears.

anonymous on September 04, 2010:

@anonymous: U build a workshop before an accademy.

anonymous on August 15, 2010:

@anonymous: The barracks part is necessary, you need to be able to build troops fast if you are at war. But I agree that the axes should come a lot earlier and you should have at least a thousand

anonymous on August 13, 2010:

Helpful guide and im in the process of making a guide.

anonymous on August 07, 2010:

@anonymous: Its up to you lol

anonymous on July 28, 2010:

@anonymous: before an academy at 3000 points but make sure u have alot of troops

anonymous on July 27, 2010:

Great guide, actually works quite well, but when should I build a workshop? After 3000 points? Before or after an academy?

anonymous on June 28, 2010:

nice, thanks im growing much faster in the points in the troops 2, this is a greatguide, although i disagree with the with the barracks part and the axes .. but great guide u really helped, thanks :)

anonymous on June 27, 2010:

On world 46 I have already 6 villages and going for my 7th. If it wasn't for you I would still have 100 spears, swords, axe, and archers but now I have 1600 spears, 1600 swords, 1000 axe, 1900 archers, 500 scouts, 550 light cavalry, 500 mounted archers, 1050 heavy cavalry, 140 rams and 140 catapults and more then 10000 points! If you want a lot of troops and a strong village then support around 100 of each to one of your villages. Upgrade the village you sent the troops from then support the troops back.

anonymous on June 22, 2010:

great guide i have now 3000 points and start my 1st nobling !ty very much !

anonymous on May 25, 2010:

@anonymous: the advantage of adding LC is shorter production time in case of losses, as well as speed so you can quickly hit someone if needed, or when he is weak.

anonymous on May 24, 2010:

Nice guide!

I have almost 3000 points now.. Any other guides for 3000pts+ Or is it just farming and nobling other villages?

anonymous on May 22, 2010:

Very great guide , only i disagree that troops and the barracks are upgraded tot 15 cause i'm into a weak area so i don't need troops as much.

anonymous on April 10, 2010:

nice guide this way you'll get some decent points in not-so-much time =/

Candor (author) on March 09, 2010:

@anonymous: The guide will work fine on worlds with statues and paladins.

anonymous on March 09, 2010:

@Candor: I'm only a beginner but i've read about getting a statue & knight first. Couldnt find it in here so I was wondering :)

anonymous on March 09, 2010:

is this guide still useful or is it a bit outdated for the new worlds?

anonymous on February 23, 2010:

dude this thing works it helps if u have a preimion or what ever but good stuff im going to be using it on the two knew worlds =)

anonymous on February 07, 2010:

thx it helped alot my old vilage had 300 points and i had to restart because someone nobled me :(

anonymous on December 25, 2009:

Thx mate! Now I have my first noble :)

but not 2 vilages, cause it is xmas and I can't attack anyone :(

total protection for everybody =/

I use this

anonymous on October 16, 2009:

thx its helpful walkthrough

anonymous on September 05, 2009:

thanks to your help I have farmed a whole contenet!

anonymous on September 03, 2009:

[in reply to Gabe ] im going to start nobling around 2k points =P

anonymous on August 26, 2009:

sweet guide man

currently world 1 k82

anonymous on August 03, 2009:

[in reply to MrMystery] yes i too do agree

anonymous on July 26, 2009:

good. but you don't really need 750 LC, because you're usually meant to get a 3:1 ratio of axes to LC; that makes a better attack as it's cheaper and quicker to build

anonymous on July 25, 2009:

[in reply to Gabe ] yeah gr8 guide best eva xD

anonymous on July 17, 2009:

this is a awesome guide...

ive been useing...

but when you get in 3000 you should get barracks 20

and get ready to noble it up

anonymous on July 16, 2009:

an amazing guide but like someone had said, the barracks really need to be from 15-25 (probably 20) at 3000 cos you'll be getting into nobling soon and that would require other sorts of more advanced troops not mentioned though

still excellent however!!!!!!!!

anonymous on July 15, 2009:

[in reply to Troopwhore]

Agreed, this guide is only bad in the fact that the barracks should NOT be such a low level at 3000 points.

anonymous on July 10, 2009:

I think this is one of the best guides i have every seen good job
