Parisian Restaurant is the ninth of the eleven Lego's modular building sets. The suggested age for a builder is 16 years and older, though young kids can also enjoy building this set, as long as they have enough patience. But such sets like this one aren't recommended for kids under 3 years old: in the box of every set, you will find more than 2000 total pieces and lots of small parts among them. This set contains 2469 pieces.
The Parisian Restaurant invites you into a new building experience for the modulars. It offers many things designers haven't done in the previous sets and has lots of details on the side of the building. It's packed with so many cool elements! And maybe you have already noticed, this building captures some of the French architecture. This set is the smallest in the whole series but has interesting outdoors setting on each of the rich detailed floors. The Parisian Restaurant, like any other LEGO Creator building, consists of three floors that you has to construct individually and then attach together. It takes quite a time to build, but in the end, you get a wonderfully detailed building, from both the inside and the outside, which will be even in more use if attached to other buildings of this collection!
On the ground floor on the outside, we have printed elements: the name of the restaurant on the front and the menu which is the new printed element. The primary olive color of the building is also new. On the left side, there are some seats for clients. From above, hanging lanterns are attached, which is a cool detail. On the other side is a staircase that goes up to the second floor and leads us right to a second dining area. Here you can see these new little pieces – a new round bowl shape that is used for the pots and for the lamps. And look at the nice feathers on the frontier and white croissants that create such a nice little detail on the front!
On the back, there are also some nice details: a dumpster, a rat, some greenery, a nice awning. Going even higher, you see another stairway, which leads to a third floor. Underneath it, on the second floor, there's a small balcony and another door on the side which gives you access to the larger balcony (a second dining area). On the third floor, you can pull down a nice little panel that reveals an artist studio with heater, easel, paintbrush, palette and artwork.
Inside the building, on the first floor, you can find a full kitchen with all of the details, for example, lots of kitchen units such as the knives, the stove, the food items. There's the area with dining zone, which has some nice brick built curtains, beautiful lamps and lots of furniture.
On the second floor, there's a beautiful little apartment furnished with a nice bed that can fold up into the wall, a reclining chair that you can move back and forth and many other details.
The cast of characters that populate the building includes 5 minifigures: chef, waiter, girl with a highly anticipated and new scooter, a man with a ring in hand that is about to propose to his girlfriend. All the minifigures are very charming, all use the original plain smiling LEGO face.
