8 Games Like FarmVille - Other Farming and Social Games
Are you looking for other farm games like FarmVille? There are plenty of fun farming games available that offer a similar gameplay experience to the popular Facebook game, FarmVille.
FarmVille is the most popular farming simulation game that also combines social aspects through Facebook which has proved a popular formula since its launch in 2009. Zynga has since repeated this winning formula in a number of their other Facebook games.
I think everyone went through their FarmVille stage and its hard to find someone who hasn't played the game. While I loved the experience I always found it to casual for my liking so I started searching for some alternatives. The games featured here aim to provide a variety of games so that there will be something for everyone, I have also made an effort to include a number of games like FarmVille not on Facebook.

1 - My Sunny Resort
A Very Unique Game Like FarmVille
My Sunny Resort lets you take a break from farming and become a manager of your own island resort instead.
If you want a change of pace from the farming gaming scene My Sunny Resort is a great option that will have you managing the finances, hiring staff, building new facilities and even customising each individual hotel room.
Starting with a very bare island (one that has plenty of potential though) it feels very much like a FarmVille experience, except that instead of players making money from their hard earned crops they'll design an ideal resort for visitors to spend their dollars on a fancy room, drinks, food and activities.
The gameplay is also more active than other FarmVille style experiences which makes it my favourite (and number one) game on this list.

2 - My Little Farmies
One Of The Best Online And Free Games Like FarmVille
My Little Farmies is an online and free farming game developed by Upjers that has a definite FarmVille feel to its gameplay.
The graphics are what really separate the game from similar online games though and have a very realistic art style that will have you thinking you are actually managing a farm in no time. Like most games in the genre you'll start your farm with very minimal land but slowly expand while also growing your list of plant-able crops, animals, buildings and decorations.
Gameplay has players carefully managing their finances of gold bars and Thalers in an attempt to get the most out of their patch of land. Players will have to plant, harvest and collect their agriculture products and then selling it directly through the warehouse or process crops further to get a better price.
My Little Farmies has great depth compared with similar games and the art style really helps it stand out in the crowd.

3 - My Free Farm
A More In Depth Farming Experience
My Free Farm extends beyond simple farming with more depth than FarmVille and other casual farming simulation games. Casual players won't be interested in the deeper mechanics of the game but people looking for something less casual will love what the game has to offer.
In My Free Farm you'll be given several plots of land and be able to view them from an overhead perspective. Each plot of land can have a different building placed on it with the most important being farmland.
In order to produce crops players will have to take a trip to town where they can find a number of stores including the seed store. Once you have your seeds players won't just click on their farmland and have plants grow without carefully looking after them though. Once planted seeds will need to watered and eventually harvested with your trusty sickle after the necessary grow time has passed.
Eventually you'll have customers rocking up to your door asking for your organic products which is the main way you'll generate your money to keep your farm going.
My Free Farm borders casual and proper gaming and is perfectly suited to FarmVille fans wanting something with more management involved.

4 - Uptasia
A Free Game Like FarmVille With Hidden Object Mini Games
Uptasia changes up the standard FarmVille formula by providing an economic simulation experience blended with hidden object mini games to break up gameplay.
If you're a fan of the endless streams of hidden object games now available on your mobile device and FarmVille then Uptasia is for you. Set in the 19th century you'll develop your own empire one sale at a time to build a thriving a business and economic powerhouse.
To take a break from you're empire you'll be able to participate in hidden object mini games with accuracy and speed needing to be balanced to achieve perfect points over each 60 second item hunt.
With quests and variety a plenty mixed in with the hidden object mini games Uptasia is a game that will keep you coming back over the long term. It's an interesting and well executed blend of two very addicting genres.
5 - Molehill Empire
Another One Of The Free Games Like FarmVille
Molehill Empire is a garden orientated game where players will tend to their own plot of land while growing various plants. By limiting the game to a single large bed of land the game is much more focused on the growing and maintenance elements of a garden and great for those that are also avid garden fans in real life.
As players advance further in the game more and more plant varieties become available which need different types of care and longer growth times but are more rewarding in the long run. Increasing in level also allows players to remove items such as stumps, stones and weeds to eventually open up the entire game screen for your selected plants.
Eventually players will even get access to a greenhouse, nursery and second garden to keep the gameplay evolving. With the game totalling over 50 different plants and the fierce community of garden raters that will score the best garden designs Molehill Empire has FarmVille like components but approaches the game from a different angle, ensuring something a little bit different.

6 - Big Farm
Another Great Free Game Like FarmVille
Big Farm is definitely one of the best free games like FarmVille available for fans of farming and social gaming.
The game is free to play and played within your browser (no downloads required). This means you can easily get started on this virtual farming game and play it anywhere which is the largest strength for the game and overall makes it a great experience.
Big Farm offers all the features of FarmVille allowing you to plow land, plant seeds and grow a variety of crops and other vegetation. Animals also make a presence in Big Farm and include goats, sheeps, rabbits, horses, bees and many more which both look cute and produce a variety of produce.
The game offers everything that makes FarmVille popular making it definitely one of the best free games like FarmVille not on Facebook and is also my favourite. The game is tightly polished and most players will find it to be perfect for their needs.

7 - Farm Up
One Of The Great PC Games Like FarmVille
Farm Up is another FarmVille like game that is free to play and available through Big Fish Games and has been live for a similar time frame to FarmVille but is often over looked.
Users create a personal avatar and start with a basic plot of land which they can plow and plant a large variety of crops. Users also have complete control over layout such as buildings and decorations to make their desired farm look however they want.
Like FarmVille the game also encourages other players to cooperate by sending gifts and helping people perform work for them. In Farm Up storing crops instead of selling them instantly yields more rewards making for a number of interesting strategic options.
As users tend to their farm they will gain experience and level up which serves as bragging rights among friends while also unlocking additional content and land. As of late December 2012 there are over 400 levels available to players meaning there is plenty of gameplay to experience although I can't imagine someone reaching those high levels in the game it is nice to know that they are there.

8 - Harvest Moon (Series)
One Of The Best Games Like FarmVille
Harvest Moon is a popular series of simulation and time management games that offer similar gameplay to FarmVille. The Harvest Moon games also adds a number of role playing elements to make it a more in depth and fun experience.
The games are available on Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS, PlayStation (1,2 and 3) and the PlayStation Portable.
The most common storyline in the series of games (although it does sometimes vary) has the player take over an abandoned farm and must restore it to its previous glory by growing crops, raising animals, making friends and selling produce.
The game also gives players a number of objectives and achievements for players to aim for. Players have a limited amount of energy to spend each day which means they must be careful how they spend their day.
I grew up on a health dose of Harvest Moon and I absolutely loved the series, following it even into my young adult and eventually adult life. The games are a great alternative to the growing number of violent focused video games especially for younger gamers.

Which Game Like FarmVille Is Your Favourite? - Know Any More Farming Games Like FarmVille?
Laura Brown from Ontario, Canada on October 23, 2013:
Sim Farm is too old to work on most computers now. I don't have Android or iOS so most of the other games you mentioned are not available. I had forgotten Farm Town. I used to play that on Facebook before I blocked all the Facebook games I had been playing from my account. Of course, now I have gotten stuck playing Farmville 2 for a friend who wanted help.

Big Fish Games has a new free to play game called Farm Up and is a real blast! Here you have quests to fill as your farm expands. This is a very, very long game.
