My Favorite Zombie MMO, Multiplayer Zombie Games and Mods
Now that zombies are so fashionable, movies and TV series may not be enough, many people are seeking to live their own zombie apocalypse through video games, so I decided to help them find the best multiplayer zombie games, of course in my opinion. :)
This Hub is about the Best Multiplayer and MMO Zombie Games and mods I found in my many years as a gamer and zombie movie fan.
What Do You Prefer Zombie Movies Or Zombie Games?
1. Left 4 Dead 2
Left 4 Dead 2 it's a fps (first-person shooter) survival Zombie horror type created by the company Valve Software. It is the Left 4 Dead sequel and was released on Nov 17, 2009 in the US and Latin America. In Europe arrived 3 days later, on November 20. Left 4 Dead 2, like its predecessor, is available for PC and Xbox 360.
The game features four modes of its predecessor:
* Single player (play alone)
* Cooperative (play online with other players)
* Versus (can play as infected or human)
Survival (you have to survive as long as possible).
There are also two new game modes: the first called Search, in which the survivors must find gas tanks to power a generator, while the infected have to avoid at all costs the survivors achieve its mission (this over time against). The second is Realism mode, in which you have to play the same campaign, but with the difference that the survivors do not shine if they are far away, nor alerts the team who is being attacked by a special infected.
The campaigns of Left 4 Dead 2 have the same basic structure as the Left 4 Dead: a certain number of chapters per campaign (each separated by a shelter) and the climax, which takes five to ten minutes to be rescued.
But what makes this game more attractive over its predecessor is the improved artificial intelligence, the AI Director 2.0. is not only responsible for regulating the amount of infected, but also alters the ways that survivors must react to get to a shelter and also controls the climate dramatically. For example, fog does appear to increase the difficulty of the game. With these changes of artificial intelligence, this sequel is much more dynamic than the previous release.

2. No More Room In Hell
With a great creepy atmosphere, envolving sound, tightly focused on cooperative missions for up to 8 players, No More Room In Hell is not the kind of game where you run killing waves of zombies without worrying about anything else, teamwork and communication is the key part of the game, weapons and ammunition are scarce, and zombies will not stop until you and your team is dead. this game is probably the closest experience to live your own zombie apocalypse, survival mode is quite entertaining.
For those who have no idea, No More Room in Hell or NMRIH is a cooperative first person shooter zombie game created with the Source Engine, is practically a Half Life 2 mod but you don't need HL2 installed.
* None, Just download it from Steam

3. Zombie Panic! Source
HL2 Mod Player Vs Player (Team Based)
Zombie Panic! Source is a modification of Half-Life 2 game, yes... another one (it has the same requirements as NMRIH), Zombie Panic is a cooperative, player vs player action game in first person, Team Based...
The idea and concept, are cooperation between players of both teams: the survivors, and zombies. The survivors must survive to certain conditions (depending on the map) and the zombies infect all players, or all they can.
There are 2 teams you can chose from; survivors and Zombies
Humans: usually, at the start of each round there are many more than the other team. The goal of humans is to survive at all costs, that means stay together and be generous with each other, either would start to cover each other, or sharing weapons and ammunition... Humans begin each round with a gun (and ammo for it) and a melee weapon, the more Weapons and ammo you carry the more slower you become, the best thing a human can do in an emergency is to use the ability to "panic"...
Zombies are infected in the game, and aims to infect players (this is achieved by killing them) usually at the beginning of the round there is 1 or 2 zombies, and the carrier.
The carrier is the stronger and more resistant zombie, with 250 hp, the carrier is the best able to infect humans, with a couple of attacks can infect a human, and after a short time becomes a zombie, without the rest of his fellow survivors realize (to distinguish an infected human, your aura is green instead of red). Zombies need to coordinate their attacks to stop humans from escaping.
* Any game that uses Source Engine (Such as HL2, LFD or CSS) OR Sorce SDK 2007 (Free)

4. Killing Floor 1 & 2
Zombie Cooperative Survival Horror Up To 6 Players
Once you start the game, the six players are free to do whatever they want, but the bottom... oh! surprise is to survive, the good thing about all this is that as we eliminate our enemies we will earn money which can then be used to purchase new weapons.
What sets Killing Floor from other games that share the same genre, is that Killing Floor will not be all fire and explosions, here we have to do a mental effort and plan a good strategy to complete each level, an example of this is that we can weld gates or doors to redirect enemies to a particular area and use predefined voice commands to communicate with teammates in case you have no microphone. This title also has special enhancements that you can unlock with sufficient experience,( such as more damage or healing). These consist of skills divided into classes or perks, which have a variety of benefits for the player; Berseker, Commando, Field Medic, Firebug, Sharpshooter and Support Specialist.

5. Day Z
Arma2 Mod Coop/PVP
Imagine a game that is a pure sandbox. When I say pure, I mean total freedom for the player. You can decide whether to collaborate or not with this guy in front of you, if you want you can kill him or let him go, you can (should) look for new items to help you survive, you must eat, drink, look for supplies and shelter to not die of exhaustion and also there are hundreds of zombies waiting to hear a noise to go after for you.
But then, this is a pvp game or cooperative? That depends on you and the other players, who will, if they so decide, allies or enemies. This mod takes place in the island of Chenarus (the original Arma2), is exclusively multiplayer, and the goal is to survive as long as possible. To do this, you start the game with a Makarov pistol and little else, not even map or compass to guide us, so we start getting new items, which are always in "inhabited" areas... never in the middle of the field.
You Can Download Day Z for Free from Steam
But, Since it's a Arma 2 Mod You will Need To Buy Arma 2: Combined Operation (Arma2 Combined Ops) In order to play...
Some Day Z Features;
* First and Third Person Shooter
* Realistic Survival
* Coop and PvP...
* A 225 km2 open world
* Up to 50-100 Players per Server
* Vehicles from Cars to Helicopters

Extra: H1Z1 "The Final Zombie Apocalypse Promise"
H1Z1 is a zombie survival horror MMO set in a post-apocalyptic world created by Sony Online entertainment, a well known company responsible from titles like Age of Conan and Dc universe online...
H1Z1 will be free to play with the posibility to buy Items from a cash shop but at the moment the game is in EARLY ACCESS which means you have to pay to get in and also you should expect some bugs and disruptions.
Get resources, seek shelter and collaborate with others to create large structures (bases) and face the main dangers of the game: The infected and also other players. The Promise of large variety of weapons and vehicles of all kinds, including air transport gave me high hopes for this game...
So far I've had a good experience. Currently the bases work quite well, cars are quite functional and the loot is very well balanced. Hunting and zombies work great, being a threat and a resource necessary that we can not lose sight.
The PVP is pretty good as long as you do not find a hacker that is the main problem of this game, most of the people that hate this game is because of Hackers, I came around with a couple of them so far, not a big deal but anyway is a problem that should be fixed as a priority otherwise the experience we all want would be ruined.
So, you have been warned, if you want to try this game, you can get it on Steam or it's official page for $ 20 or wait to Open Beta and try it for free.

Have You Tried Any Zombie MMO? - Speak Your Mind!
anonymous on April 09, 2013:
LOL, you have a War Z photo under your Day Z list.
mmwoodward on April 07, 2013:
I love Left 4 Dead 2 and Resident Evil (pretty much any of them, although the first one was the one that opened my eyes to zombie games in general and still gives me the creep). I don't really like zombie movies, though, for some odd reason.
anonymous on March 23, 2013:
WarMaker. It's a third-person zombie survival, although it's very popular right now.
anonymous on January 15, 2013:
Lol... The picture above the DayZ screen shots is a picture from :" The WarZ " another zombie MMO, check ur information dude.
Alberto Zumaya (author) on August 28, 2012:
yes i Agree with you nanee00, the only game we can call MMO in here is probably Day Z that has a limit of 100 players per server and still not that many... but also i will add another game, The War Z, with a limit of 250 players per server... thank you very much for you comment! :)
Tycoon Addict on August 28, 2012:
Good lense really liked it. Except.... none of these are mmo. (mmo=massively multi player online) ie many people playing simultaneously. These games only have small groups of closed vs games. This would be referred to as multi player games not massive. aside that awesome lense.
Alberto Zumaya (author) on August 25, 2012:
oh you are right Landers03! Thank you
Nicholas Weller on August 25, 2012:
Some DayZ servers go up to 100 players, and dayz and l4d are the only ones i've played here, both great games.
alvarozg on August 21, 2012:
i hope i live enough to witness the Zombie Apocalypse lol

nicks44 on August 21, 2012:
Quite frankly I haven't tried it out just yet, but it sure looks playable, after all, zombies never get old, right? :)
