6 Best Kinect Dance Games

Have Fun Grooving To The Music

I've listed the best Kinect dance games here to help you pick your next dancing title. With the Kinect, your whole body gets in on the dancing action, just like dancing was meant to be. Whether you're looking for a game that will give you a good workout, or you just want something fun to play by yourself or with friends, there's something in this list that's just right for you!

Honorable Mentions

DanceMasters: This Kinect dance game, unlike Dance Central, allows two players to play at a time using one console. The game play is similar to Dance Dance Revolution. The song titles are mainly J-pop, less mainstream than those on Dance Central.

Grease Dance: This game sounds a bit messy, but on further study we realize that it's called "Grease Dance" because it's based on music and dances from the classic musical. Go figure!

Nickelodeon Dance 2: This themed dance game is sure to be a hit with the younger crowd and is a great way to entertain energetic kids!

#6: Zumba Fitness Rush - Get Fit With a Zumba Flair

Zumba Fitness Rush is a combination dancing and workout game. If you're really looking to work up a sweat while playing your dancing game, then you'll like this title. It teaches you a bunch of different sexy Zumba dance moves that increase in complexity as you move to more challenging levels. This latest version corrects a lot of the issues people saw in Zumba Fitness - Kinect. There's also Zumba Fitness Core, which focuses your Zumba exercise efforts on your midsection.

#5: Dance Paradise - Shake Your Booty!

The movement recognition for this game isn't as good as some other Kinect titles. On the plus side, it has a great song list, including songs by Akon, Gwen Stefani, Taio Cruz, and more. Music videos play during the songs to provide more interest for the audience. This is a really fun game to play on your own or with friends.

#4: The Black Eyed Peas Experience

This Kinect dance game is similar to Michael Jackson, but specifically for Black Eyed Peas music and dance moves. Thirty individual tracks are listed. I have to say, I was a little surprised about the popularity of this game, but I suppose enough people are into the music to make it a popular hit. It also has some unique features, such as showing dance moves from both the back and the front to make them easier to learn.

#3: Michael Jackson: The Experience

If you love songs like "Beat It," "Billie Jean," and "Black and White," then Michael Jackson: The Experience is the game for you. In addition to dancing, you can also sing along to the tunes. It does take some experience to learn MJ's signature moves, but doing so is fun and also a good workout. Up to four players at a time can dance to this game, and videos capture the hilarity that ensues when you and your friends dance in step. After all, who wouldn't want to learn dance moves like the ones in the "Thriller" music video?

#2: Just Dance 4

Just Dance 4, the newest game in the Just Dance series, brings motion control to a whole new level. If you want to see a complete list of music tracks (which includes Black Eyed Peas' "Pump It," Katie Perry's "California Gurls," and Taio Cruz's "Dynamite"), check out the Just Dance Facebook page. This Kinect dance game has a great list of modern and classic dance songs, and the capability to track up to four players at a time.

#1: Dance Central Franchise - Dance To Your Favorite Music

Dance Central 3 for the Kinect is a fantastic dancing game. It comes with a variety of new, popular music by Lady Gaga, Cascada, Rihanna, Soulja Boy, and more. Also, the fact that it's made by Harmonix (the company that brought us Rock Band) means you know you're getting a good game!

Well covered topic on some great dance games.

These games can really help you go from an uncoordinated lump of elbows and left feet into a suave dance extraordinaire; or just get you off the couch and moving around. Either way, sure to be a solid buy for any Kinect owner.

@raychic200: Some games I own. Some I play at friend's houses. Some I discuss with other people, and some I read reviews and watch videos about. I want to make sure I get a completely balanced opinion, not just the ramblings of one person :)

Do you own all of these games? Because if you don't how can you know so much about these?

Great lens - I haven't played a lot of them, but did have fun with what I played... not even sure which it was now, though!
