WoW Gold Farming Tips

This is a solid gold making technique, but takes some time and effort. In addition to time and effort, for this technique you will need a level 90 character to get the most out of it. But anywhere between 85-90 will do as you must have access to Pandaria continent.

Requirements: Level 85-90 and a Potion of Luck (40-90g usually in the auction house).
Estimated Profit: 2000-4000 gold an hour.

Where to farm gold in Mists of Pandaria

Farming Turtles in the Jade Forest

First and one of the best places to farm gold is located in the Jade Forest, on an island where the Order of the Cloud Serpent dailies are every now and then (see the location in the video below).

Here you are to kill turtles located at the northern shore of this small island, they usually drop some gold, cloth, cooking mats (meat), and with potion of luck - treasure boxes. In addition to all these, turtles usually drop a few uncommon items that sell anywhere between 30 to 60 gold in the auction house.

Sell nothing but gray trash items to vendors, rest goes to the auction house. You can put your stuff for sale manually, but I recommend using auctioneer addon to save time. Time is money. Or in this case, Gold.

Kill Hozen in Krasarang Wilds

Another great gold farming spot is in Krasarang Wilds. Again, on an island (map in the video below). Here instead of killing turtles, you are to kill monkeys, aka. Hozen.

Do the same thing you did at gold farming spot #1 in the Jade Forest.

As a tip inside a tip: Choose gold farming spot #1 over this one. Hozen do not drop cooking materials which sell like charm. Go to this spot if turtles are already being farmed by a tonne of people.

Farm Humanoids in Krasarang's PvP areas.

Again in Krasarang Wilds. Lion's Landing and Domination Point are both great locations to farm gold in Mists of Pandaria. Mobs in these places are in large groups and respawn very quickly.

Another reason I like these two places is the fact that there are different rare mob spawns that can drop epics, brawler's guild invitations (sells in the auction house) and of course you get honor by killing these.

Same thing applies. Use potion of luck to make the most out of this spot too.

Summary. These are all equally good farming spots, but I've found the island in the Jade Forest to be most effective if you happen to be there alone. Which is rare. If the spot happens to be occupied, just go to Krasarang Wilds instead. There's usually no one there.

Farming is probably one of the easiest ways to make gold in World of Warcraft. However, it is often considered the most boring way to do it too. I like it because it is very effective if you have a good spot and it is also very solid technique as you can only profit from it. Losing money by farming is pretty unlikely compared to reselling stuff in the auction house.

So, make yourself a playlist of great songs, grab a beer (if you are old enough!) and start making gold. Good luck and try to have fun.

Had I been alone in these spots - these numbers could be even 1000g higher.

Other ways to make gold

Some people don't like to farm gold. Luckily there are other good ways to make gold in World of Warcraft too. For example:

  • Auction House - Most gold guides on the market focus mainly on this, and I can see why. Auction house is very powerful tool for making gold if you know how to use it.
  • Professions - Gathering and production professions are both good for making gold, but takes either a lot of time or gold.
  • Boosting people - This used to be a good way back in vanilla. Not very good anymore.
  • Quests and Dailies - If you are willing to do these, you might just as well farm...or what I like to do is combine farming and questing. Drink a potion of luck and kill everything you see while doing quests.
  • Soloing old raids - One of my personal favorites! Gold, transmog gear, battle pets to sell, tons of loot to sell in the auction house and you can even take someone with you and get paid for boosting.

Don't normally do this but if your way works then I'll see about spreading the word. To certain people, don't wanna lose my realm to them if it does. Also I like how u took ur time to find these routes.

I never knew about farming the turtles in that area, I might try it! I also liked that you included other ways to make gold, even if they are more time consuming - farming it can get tedious after a while. Voted up!
