Guide to Chandragupta Maurya's Skills

Chandragupta Maurya is one of the most complicated commanders in "Rise of Kingdoms". In fact, his skills are very complicated that it makes it a bit difficult to perfectly test out his effectiveness both in rallying strongholds and in battling in the open-field. But don’t you worry though, we have already done a lot of tests with Chandragupta in the game. And so far, the talent builds that are featured in this Chandragupta Talent Build Guide are working so you don’t have to worry that much. But before we get into that, it is also best that you know Chandragupta’s skill set.

  1. Hidden Moon - The damage of all troops under his command is increased by 40% for 3 seconds. At the same time, they gain 1 stacks of Blessed, increasing cavalry units’ attack by 15% per stack for 10 seconds. Blessed can stack up to 3 times.
  2. Royal Elephant Brigade - When attacking cities or strongholds, troops led by this commander take 10% reduced damage, and gain a stack of Blessed after using the “Hidden Moon” skill.
  3. Arthashastra - When all this commander’s troops are cavalry, health is increased by 20% and each attack has a 50% chance to add a stack of Exhaust to the target, reducing their health and their defense by 5%. Each stack lasts 5 seconds, and can stack up to 3 times.
  4. Self-Control - Damage taken from cavalry is reduced by 5%. After using an active skill, all troops’ march speed is increased by 25% for 3 seconds. Meanwhile, all stacks of Blessed are removed, and damage is dealt to the target based on the number of stacks removed (Damage Factor: number of stacks x 500).
  5. Maurya’s Might (Expertise) - The Blessed effect can stack up to 4 times. While in alliance territory, each attack has a 50% chance to gain one stack of Blessed. Outside of alliance territory, each attack has a 50% chance to gain two stacks of Blessed. This effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds.

Chandragupta Maurya has powerful buffs especially when you are using him in attacking strongholds and when you are using only cavalry-only marches. In fact, he can buff his cavalry troop’s attack up to 60% if he is expertised. Other than that, he also provides significant buffs to his cavalry-only marches. Plus, he can also provide powerful nuking damage through his fourth skill, Self-Control.

Chandragupta’s skills also provide a bonus effect especially when he is rallying a stronghold and when he is out from the alliance territory. Considering that, he is ultimately a legendary cavalry commander specializing in rallying strongholds. However, it does not totally mean he is only specialized in attacking strongholds. He is still a beast even in the open-field. His skills still make him a powerful legendary cavalry commander even when he is battling in the open-field.

However, all of Chandragupta Maurya’s potential will be such a waste if his talents are not built correctly. To unlock his full potential make sure you follow the talent builds we’ve laid out in this Chandragupta Maurya Talent Tree Build Guide.
