Tips and strategy for Underground on survival mode in spec ops, on Call Of Duty Modern warfare 3 , how to get far MW3

This guide/hub will teach you the tips and strategies that you can and should use to get to high levels on the map Underground for survival mode on Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3.

Also upon request I have created a Twitter account for Johnrr's Hubs which can be found here

ALSO!!! - I am starting a new clan. If you are reading this feel free to message me on Xbox Live, or on Twitter. As of now I am only open to people on Xbox, but will be moving multi-platform in December/January. So please feel free to contact me with questions. Also I will have a Website specifically for the clan, and it will be pretty big. My Gamertag is MKS JohnR

PLEASE NOTE ::: Below is a guide for general strategies for all survival maps that i suggest you read prior to the rest of this hub. I will reference and not going into great detail on the things you should use. But if you read the guide i give full reasons of why you should use each item.

The Map

So first let me go over what is on the map. This will tell you the items that i have drawn up and below will be the strategy for the map.

The Orange X's are where your turrets will go. Preferably grenade turrets on this map, but if you are not a high enough level, then the regular turrets will be fine.

The red X's will be your player placement. Each player should stand respectively near those areas, while both are behind cover. This will allow you to stay fairly protected while defeating the enemy troops that will come towards you and try to attack you.

The blue lines represent the paths where enemy troops will come from. These are the only ways that enemies will come.. With 1 exception which i will talk about below

The pink/purple section off to the side is your escape route. This is where you will run, if you get in trouble and need an escape. This is that one exception to the blue line rule where a few ( no more than 6 at very high rounds) may come this way, but not always.. The best way to not worry about this, is to set some claymores around this area in the tunnel between rounds, and you will not have to worry about this later on.

So now for the strategy...

The Strategy

Ok so this strategy, as mine typically are, is fairly simple. First the basics. Each player should strive for two light machine guns, sleight of hand, self revive, riot shield team, predator missiles when needed, all full stock on grenades... Those items are explained in my guide above why you should have each of those and what the benefits are.

As far as each player.. The player who is closest to the restock crate will be hidden behind the square concrete block. If crouched you will not get hit with bullets, Your main goal in this position is to guard the turrets, and to take out whatever and whoever you may see.

The other player, who will be more on the bridge, will be more worried about shooting any enemies that come on the bridge. You will get a lot of payers this way and you will have plenty of action. You goal is to stay hidden and let the enemy come to you.

At some point both of you should acquire a set of riot shield units. This will aid you a lot when taking out the enemy troops that come at you. You should focus your main goal on getting riot shield teams, and the turrets first as these will be your highest defense throughout the game.

If at some point when the juggernauts come, or you do get bogged down, use the escape path To make a fast get away. You should have no problem using this path to cycle your way around the map, and eventually make your way back to the camping area.

So there is your strategy for this map, Just remember, you should stay crouched and hidden. Take out enemies who get close, let your turrets and riot shield teams do most of the work. You should also make sure you stay well stocked on ammo, and grenade etc.... But with this strategy you should have no problem finding your way to high levels, and should be fairly easy for you to get to high levels.

Below are strategies to other survival maps.

this strategy works perfect I made it to wave 60

fartbox on May 18, 2014:

I only make it to 22 and 25 on all of the easy rounds its just me playing . i know its ment for to ppl but i think it can b done without cheating i just need a way to do it. any advice?

the bitches love me on January 01, 2014:

Yeah those r all good but I usually don't do that I put grenade sentries in the subway tunnel below the bus and I face them towards the stairs air supports and I put Claymores in the subway tunnel for the dogs and it knocks most of them down and for the 30s jugg rounds I ran around the map to isolate them from me by putting claymores again in a line to take care of the dogs and then I throw a air strike when the juggs r in position near the equipment and it takes care of them and then I take out all the regular enemies and then I repeat those steps with riot should squads and make them take out all the enemies and I got up to round 50+

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on August 22, 2013:

Wow Thanks for posting that LCPL steel.. I'll have to try that out and see what happens.

Survival lover on August 21, 2013:

Me and my partner set up under the air support shelter and we made it to 51 or 53. We have 2 turrets set up and each get a riot squad and on juggernaut waves I buy a predator and take one out (until about 37 then the predator missile doesn't kill 'em) and my partner buys and air strike and throws it at the first jug and it normally kills him. And then we both shoot the last jug that comes . We both have two lmg's and I think that's the way to do it. And the enemies will flood you sometimes but it's really easy and helpful to buy an air strike and toss it in the middle of them. One of the only really bad things about this strategy is it's a long ways to the armory box (flashbangs, grenades, self revive and turrets). I think it's crucial for at least one of the players to keep a self revive!!! Claymores help take out enemies also! I hope my strategy helps someone out. @johnrr631992 your hub is awesome and it helps us out a lot.

I Have a completely different stratergy!! use your pistol in waves 1 & 2 to shoot all oncoming soldiers, but at the end of wave 1 you must shoot 5 shootgun rounds in to the engine of the white van down to the right of where you begin the round, and by wave 3 when the dogs come along run up on to the van, and using your pistol until the rounds run out, shoot away at the oncoming soldiers, this saves dealing with the dogs in wave 3, and once your pistol rouns have run out use the shotgun, and collect all of the ammo from dead soldiers, this saves spending money on ammo and ensures you have always a full clip, so shoot your way throgh the waves, kill the juggernaught in wave 9/10 i stand-by where you first start off between the two flower pots that backs down the slpoe, so if i get caught out by the jug i can duck for cover, when the jug arrives, ensure your stood by the flower pots, and watch for when the jugg throws the rope down to the ground, the second that rope touches the ground throw 1 gradade followed by 1 flashbang, then fire my light machine gun, either the lsw or the mg36 that i favour, at will till the jugg dies, if you're quick enough and smart enoght, to judge when the jugg is at his weakest then you could finish him off with a slash of your knife to the throat, and so the waves go on.Once i get to waves 10+ i ensure that i make enough money to but a sentry gun, and place this either on top of the white van that i destroyed in wave 2, surrounded by 5 claymores for protection, or up by the perk/air support armoury box, again with 5 claymores strategicly placed around the sentry gun for protection, then for me once i have placed those two sentry guns in both of the locations that i have indecated, its simple for me from here on in, i simpley keep running around the outside of the map anti clock wise, i run anti-clock-wise because i feel comfortable running in this direction, you may feel comfortable running clock-wise? i keep running around the outside of the map because i can always pass by the equipment armoury and quickly buy and keep topping up on equipment as i go by, from waves 10-20+ i like to use claymores but not to liberly, and keep my distance from enemy troops, rember whilst always making a point of running by my sentry guns and the combination of claymores to make kills and fly through the waves, and at waves 15 and 20 use my tactic to take out all of the juggs, making sure that i stock up on flashbangs and granades, whilst running around anti-clock wise.but for me by wave 20+ i move my sentry guns inside to protect them from heli'sm i place 1 in the corner of the building that is to your left when you start the game protected by 5 claymores and one at the bottom of the staps to the left of the air support box, again by 5 claymores, moving the sentreys inside helps me through waves 20-30, i can only reach wave 27 on underground at the moment, and will post more of my stratergy as i find a way to progress up thrugh the higher waves.Going back to wave 3, up on top of the white van, ensure that you blow the engine in wave 1 to ensure that you don't get blown up, in wave 3 you can stay out of the reach of the dogs until you can kill them, but theres no need to shoot the dogs, because the troops will throw granades and flashbangs that will kill the dogs, this will also knock down your armour, but theres no need to worry about this at such an early stage in the game. And that is my basic stratergy at the moment, watch this space for more updates soon as i make progress, im also open to hints, tips and other stratergies if anyone wishes to get intouch with me, GOOD LUCK, ITS A DANGEROUS WORLD OUT THERE!!!!!

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on April 30, 2013:

@Drest34... Removed your comment for multiple reasons..

@Wraith.. I haven't had a chance to try the strategy. I haven't had a chance to jump back into MW3, although I will soon, and will keep this in mind for underground.. I need to jump back into the older cods to mess around..

Wraith on April 29, 2013:

Anyone else tried the "strategy" I mentioned? You have to climb on top of the storage shelves in the tunnel (jump onto the trashcan, then jump onto the shelves). It's really entertaining, since enemies only come in one or two at a time, and the dogs usually just stand there looking stupid. Watch out for juggernauts though, they will skip the waiting line and just waltz right in.

. . . I love finding ways to exploit faulty AI path coding. . . XD

juan on November 23, 2012:

I like to jus stay at the other side where you buy the predator missiles n set up two turrets n a riot shield team I got to level 26 by myself

Dick on October 06, 2012:

The best way I found to play this MAP is to do wave 1-5 anywhere until you get enough points to each buy a Sentry Gun and put them side by side just outside the conopy by the Air Support box, facing the main doors and the side door near the bus.... let the Sentries do their work and you and you team prone under the canopy and collect dollars amo and guns as they come up... Ak-47, ARC6.8, etc. First Jug round (10) is easy... flash and lay into the head both of you.. poof.

Next Jug waves are 15, 20, 26 then every 4 waves (30, 34, 38, 42, 46 50, 54... etc.) I've gone all the way to 63...

In wave 1 , I throw my 2 grenades under the White truck in near the courtyard near the Equipment box to explode it... so on jug rounds 15, 20, 26... and onwards we go on top of it and PRONE and shoot the enemies and the jugs from the top (the front is the best) but make sure you pull back as soon as your health turns red...-- team members can revive each other easily too...). I like to use an airstrile each w/flash bang thrown right in front of the truck to kill all jugs at once... sometimes your partner needs to throw one too. You must take out all other soldiers first as they shoot from higher locations and from a distance... 2 or more LMG are a MUST.

For all other waves starting Wave 21... you should take the sentry guns and go underground inside the tunnel (down the stairs near the Air Support... Put the senty guns just before you reach the turn-stiles and point them towards the stairs where you came from... and the two team members should look the other way... one stands behind the garbage can near the door and the other crouches next to him.... get all the enemies and dogs ASAP coming in. let the sentries protect your back but keep 10 Claymores spaced properly all the way up the corridor and up the stairs to slow down any enemies or dogs that come in occasionally... very few will come from there anyway.

Wave 23 onwards a chopper will come every wave... leave that for last and use the time to take washroom breaks, fill up amo, airstrikes, check the claymores etc... Get the Chopper from the entrance to the big station hall where the chopper will be above the skylights...

Ideally, we take turn laying down 4-5 C4s near the outside steps and the other turnstiles where enemies come from the big hall... and explode them (double X) when the enemy is concentrated there. You don't want to put C4 just outside in the rubble as the smoke will prevent you from seeing enemies coming into the underground tunnel where you are.

Just before the Jug rounds buy ammo, run to the explosion box, buy your 10 C4s 10 Clays, Self Revive, Armour if need be... grenades and FLASH bangs, then run to the top of the truck. After the Jugs, make sure you buy anything you lost, the off to the underground tunnel. The next round (Jug +1) Buy your AirStrike, and put down C4s at the usual place and check the claymores in the tunnel behind you.... You should easily go to wave 62+

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on September 25, 2012:

Ya, you should have no problem playing split screen. I can on modern warfare 3, and black ops, so most games should allow it.

mw3fanatic1 on September 25, 2012:

im not going to play online because i don't want to waste all of my money and not have anything left for other things, im only gonna play single player and if u can splitscreen but john can u play splitscreen on xbox360. Anyway gotta go , peace(:

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on September 24, 2012:

Its a good idea, just keep in mind that IF you want to play online for the game, or use xbox live.. you also need to pay an additional 60 dollars for the network.

mw3fanatic1 on September 24, 2012:

hey i was thinking about buying a xbox 360 for minecraft because that game is awesome and me and my friend could play together (split screen style). im getting another 100 through 200$$ in october so i might because i found one at amazon for 94$ and it comes with controller, headset, and game system and i could buy minecraft and download it?But the only reason i would buy it is because it doesn't work on my apple computer, but anyway tell me what u think of the idea, anyway thanks and talk to u soon

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on September 24, 2012:

Elite is the program for Call of duty that will allow you to get all the maps.. MW3 had the elite for it as well.. There are no games out right now that i suggest buying, I would wait for black ops 2.

mw3fanatic1 on September 21, 2012:

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on September 21, 2012:

Sorry got back to you so late, but you'll probably see this tomorrow.. Umm, as far as a cooling fan, i would say walmart, or best buy should carry them, I know they have them for Xbox... Also.. if you have elite, and call of duty Black ops 2 pre ordered then.. I would say save it for a game that you want haha, umm I would say Halo, but that's only for Xbox.

mw3fanatic1 on September 20, 2012:

ssssiiiiccckkkk , im getting 100-115$$$$$$ and i wanted to ask u what i should do with it and i already preorderd bo2 and i already have a headset so if u have any ideas tell me , ogh yeagh and plus do u know any thing about where to get cooling fans for the ps3 mine gets overheated all the time and its new and it gets super annoying. well bye and try to awnser soon, anyway its 10:45 and i have school tommorow so bbbbyyyyeeee to u later

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on September 12, 2012:

Heyy MW3fanatic.. I have all the zombie maps.. I wrote guides for some of the newer ones, but started writing for here on the back half of the maps. But none the less I do have all the maps, the ones you wrote, plus call of the dead, shang ri la, and any others that are skipping my head.. if you need help on moon, i know i have a FEW guides for zombies for the map moon.. talking about a few different strategies, plus how to get secret items, and how to unlock Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold.

mw3fanatic1 on September 12, 2012:

just got cod black ops rezzurection map pack which comes with shino numa, der riese , nauth der untoten, verrruct, and the moon!!!!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$Its so cool John can't wait for cod bo 2 comes out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ohhhh and what maps do u have?????????? talk tooo u later bro its school tommorow!

Anthony on September 04, 2012:

Fair enough, thanks anyway!

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on September 04, 2012:

I mean, Black Ops 2 will have an 8 player zombie game mode (up to 8 players) which is a wave game. Other than that, I don't really know of any other good ones. My main focus for games right now is Halo4/Black Ops 2/and Madden, just because it takes so much time to research and pump out guides I don't have time to play others at the moment.

Anthony on September 04, 2012:

No problem - thanks for the great strategy. any references to good wave related games besides the gears franchise?

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on September 04, 2012:

No sadly it is not. Will probably be an update on future games though. :) thanks for commenting

Anthony on September 04, 2012:

Random question: is it possible to play survival with more than 2 players?

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on September 02, 2012:

Well, all the guns get weaker, BUT where you can buy ammo off the wall it prevents you from having to run out of ammo and buy a random gun off the wall if you cannot get a max ammo.

mw3fanatic1 on September 02, 2012:

my friend said the m16 gets weaker around round 20 and so on but i don't know. But ive never packapunched the m16

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on September 01, 2012:

Hmm.. I may have to say the M16.. My ONLY reason for that, is once it is pack a punched you can replenish ammo on the wall without a max ammo box, and can use this throughout the game. i think that it is a very effective weapon on this game mode as well.

mw3fanatic1 on August 31, 2012:

ohhh! i want to know what's ur favorite gun in bo zombies kino other than the ray gun and thunder gun? and money bombs (:

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on August 30, 2012:

Hey MW3fanatic.. No i am 100% against glitches, and cheats, and have posted many times in my guides about why i cannot stand cheaters. Personally I manage to get fairly far without using anything that is hacking the game, cheating, or giving an unfair advantage.

mw3fanatic1 on August 29, 2012:

hey i was just wondering do u play bo zombies and use glitches or cheats because its weird it seems like everybody is always using cheats, hacks, or gliches?

hadi on August 28, 2012:

why there is noting in myleaderboard list?

how can i activate it?

how play sur mode online and ofline with another guy?

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on August 28, 2012:

yes MWFAN I have solo guides here

mwfan on August 28, 2012:

of the red hairded juggy freak and what's with the riot shiel juggy and the heli i look on youtube that dogs in thre is almost indestructible do you have any solo guide

mw3fanatic1 on August 25, 2012:

oghhhh?? but thanks anyway talk to u soon

braeboy on August 22, 2012:

i usually set up the sentry guns at the air support place and get a delta squad who will usually hide and get guys who pop out. i use l86 lsw with red dot ,grip and a mg36 with the same attachments. i would recommend a sleight of hand to get farther in levels. and get flashbangs and self revive to help you.

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on August 16, 2012:

If you play solo, it counts as a private match and will not show up on the leaderboards. If I remember correctly the only way to fix that is to play with a friend in a xbox match, then have that friend back out, and play by yourself. It will still show up as 2 people but you can get very far by doing this. That is how people used to get very high rounds with the glitches, by having their friends back out..

mw3fanatic1 on August 16, 2012:

and John i played zombies solo on kino der toten and as i said got to round 32 but it doesn't show up it only shows my highest round with 4 people why?

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on August 14, 2012:

@hadl Yes the blind assist can screw with you if you aren't expecting it.. And yes I will be paying more attention to the names of the teams that are coming in.

@MW3fanatic - I hear ya, Im moving back to college right now, so on the road. But can't wait to get back to playing. Ill post an answer to how far I've gotten on Kino when I get my xbox hooked up on campus and can check, but as of now, I have NO Clue... Haven't played black ops in a LONG time, and when I do I usually play shang ri la, moon, call of the dead...

mw3fanatic1 on August 14, 2012:

i can't wait to get back home im on vacation now ill be back on thursday and then can play mw3 and black ops and how far have u made it on black ops zombies kino der toten solo? ive been playing it a ton and got to round 32 solo mode!

hadi on August 14, 2012:

yes your right

it was because of blind assist option

yes they r stupid

but maybe one day when u call riot shield team c.p price, c.p mctavish and sandman show up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thank u so much

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on August 13, 2012:

What may have happened was, if you hit pause, options, then go to color blind assist that will change the colors of the parts of the game that have letters and readable items. That may be your issue.

I think as far as the rank of the riot team, it may be random. Either way they typically do some pretty stupid things on the game like blocking doorways, facing the opposite direction of the enemy, facing each other, and so on. So I haven't noticed any large differences.

hadi on August 13, 2012:

i found pics thank u

when i start to play the color of turets and riot shield team in the map was green

but a few days it has been changed to blue

did it happen to u too?

i think when u play this mode a lot the grade of riot shield team increased. is that right?

sometimes they r all privates and sometimes one of them is corporal and one of them is even surgent

what u think?

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on August 12, 2012:

Umm,, they are there on my screen. Are you on your phone. It should be right above the comment section of the page. Thanks

hmerati on August 12, 2012:

i can't see the pictures u mentioned

please help

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on August 11, 2012:

Your not the first person to suggest that strategy, and as I have said before, everyone has their own. Personally I like mine more, because of the location on this map. And as long as you shoot helicopters first, then no need to even worry about the cover over head.

jacob on August 09, 2012:

I'm sorry but that is lame what u should do on underground is go to air support and stay under the roof plant two grenade sentry's and u and ur partner stay and get whole bunch of kills then when juggs come throw a flash bang to stop them then your partner must quickly throw an air strike note helicopters can't kill u if ur under the roof so don't worry about them and for an escape route go down the tunnel by the big red bus go in the tunnel with claymores behind you. Run to grenade support by body armor run to the tunnel to the right of grenade support throw c4 behind run up the red stairs and.wait for them then click it run back to air support and do this process u should get to rounds 33,47,51,59 and yea but olny if ur lucky if u like my stradigy txt thums up

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on July 22, 2012:

here is my black ops 2 initial guide

mw3fanatic1 on July 22, 2012:

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on July 20, 2012:

I do know some things about Black ops 2, although, I have written a couple guides about Black ops 2 as well. if you go to one of those guides, and ask specific questions on there I will reply, and share some knowledge, but there are some things I would not like to share... :)

mw3fanatic1 on July 20, 2012:

so do u know any thing about black ops 2?

mw3fanatic1 on July 18, 2012:

i really wanna play that, there are so many new features in it I can't wait till it comes out. so do u know anything about black ops 2 other then the obvious things?

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on July 18, 2012:

WOW, lol, I am sorry, COMPLETELY meant Black Ops 2, not MW3.. lol.. I wish I could edit my comment. But either way, I meant the new black ops game :).

mw3fanatic1 on July 17, 2012:

didn't mw3 already came out? or do u mean mw4?

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on July 17, 2012:

As of now I don't see any new main strategies. i would suggest that you start getting back to the mechanics of Black Ops because the game play between Treyarch's Black Ops, and Infinity Ward's MW3 is completely different. I think that you should keep playing Black Ops that way you are completely ready for MW3 when it comes out.

mw3fanatic1 on July 16, 2012:

Thanks iv'e gotten pretty good at mw3 and I play it a lot but im trying to get better by playing training in black ops and zombies occasionally and then going back to playing it again and again and if there are any new strategies could u tell me im always trying to find new ones and again thank you!

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on July 16, 2012:

Yah any spot is fine on this map, if you are starting to get overrun then you should do the standard run and gun. That in my opinion is the easiest way for you to survive at later rounds. Seems like you have your methods down pretty good.

Luke on July 16, 2012:

I should also note, although my main weapon is always an assault rifle or LMG this spot is close enough to restock ammo between rounds so i keep a submachine gun as a secondary. When it comes to being overrun and surrounded this is invaluable to blast your way out of a tight spot to run an regroup and the rate it burns through ammo doesn't matter for these quick getaways.

Luke on July 16, 2012:

I usually set up in the building on the left hand side of the map. At the small stairs between the hole blown in the wall leading to the main atrium with the weapon box, the office with stairs leading down and a long corridor and the corridor that leads to two doors out towards the air support. I set up there, good cover from choppers until you've cleared the rest of the enemies from the map at which point you can shoot up through the windows and take them out pretty easily. Setting up one turret facing the hole in the wall and another facing down the long corridor (but at just the right angle so they can cover each other if needs be) can provide some very useful support. The riot squads often sit in the corners or in the corridor leading to the air support which covers your back and keeps them out of trouble from being flanked. Wonderfully this back corridor to the airstrikes is a great escape route if it all goes wrong (especially if you fill it with C4) Have tried this only a few times but got over level 30 with little worry.

The main concern is when at higher levels the armoured juggers come and if your not careful can take out your sentries if you let them overrun you, then someone has the long and difficult run all the way to the explosives crate and back between waves although one person can usually hold the fort with adequate support from a remaining sentry and/or riot squads.

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on July 16, 2012:

Congrats, glad you got far trying my strategy!

mw3fanatic1 on July 14, 2012:

thanks i tried it was pretty good and i got really far with it and then got farther with the ak 47 and i couldn't believe it. but which would be a better map to hold out on resistance or underground?

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on July 13, 2012:

Try my strategy from the picture. I have made it to high levels using this strategy, and I see NO reason why it would fail for any reason. Just go slow, take your time, don't run out of ammo and you'll be good.

I am always playing black ops and mw3 but mainly just mw3 with my friend and we do underground and we put sentry guns at each entrance and tons of claymores out side the entrances and we always make to round 27 and we try tons of different strategies but can't find any ones that help so what is a good strategy to use?

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on July 05, 2012:

Thats not bad. Essentially same thing as me just at opposite ends. It's good to stay near boxes on this map given they are so spread out. I like where I am because I buy more from that box than the pred box at the top of the street.

Elijah on July 05, 2012:

What I do on this map is hold out at the place were u can by guns for about 15 rounds then I go to the place were u can by a pred missile and then by a sentry at wave 20 and a riot team at 25 I last about to wave 34 and 37

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on July 03, 2012:

Andy, I get that a lot, And i was going to remake all the photos, but it would take a LOT of tie to take down all the photos, re-edit with the correct boxes, and re add them, especially since I have about 50 map pictures through my hubs.

Me? I'm not a console gamer (unless you count occasionally playing Wii games) by any means. I'm a PC gamer. Have been for a LOOOONG time.

ggl on June 20, 2012:

thanks. if u have a ps3 what is your id

Wraith on June 20, 2012:

ggl, try this: I start with using up all the ammo in the pistol on the waves that have the the Model 1887 and the first 1 or 2 of the MP5 enemies. I then use the Model until it runs out of ammo (usually around wave 10), when I start using the MP5. Then I use the AK-47s the enemies drop, then after I start using the ACR, I buy one LMG, then another after the enemies start using the FAD. (Personally, I think the AK-47 packs the biggest punch of the weapons the enemies drop, followed by the ACR. The FAD is so weak in comparison that it just isn't worth using.)

ggl on June 19, 2012:

OK instead of buying your own weapons use the enemy's you save money and time. the start of the game use your pistil the take the mp5 it will last about 15-20 rounds. for me it lasted me round 30. then buy the lmgs.

Wraith on June 15, 2012:

Okay... new strategy, rather unconventional (in multiple ways): follow the HiddenMasters "strategy" for this map. Don't get it? Try watching their "statue men" episode for Underground (also good for just straight up laughing your ass off). Faulty AI path coding FTW. (Does NOT require sentries or squads. Those will, in fact, just waste your money after wave 15.)

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on June 06, 2012:

Mathew when helicopters come.. shoot them down with a LMG, or predator missile.

Matthew on June 05, 2012:

What do you do when a helicopter come.

Jonathan on May 25, 2012:

This worked i try it and i got very first time doing i got to wave 50 and now i got to 73

TIm on May 18, 2012:

The helicopters can be taken down in 10 second with 2 lmg's it will be down before the enemys even load on the map

TheBigFellow on May 17, 2012:

I've been playing survival almost exclusively on this map since it came out n urs is pretty much ythe only area I've never posted in for any significant length of time (altho if i get caught over there at the beginning of a roud i'll stay n jst stick a sentry in the front) and i fully intend to try this as soon as i die lol however i think it should be noted that there is a much easier way to get sentries then constantly running back and forth...PLEASE NOTE THIS IS FOR SOLO PLAY all u gotta do is buy one place it down where u are then buy the other one but DON'T PLACE IT instead keep it in ur inventory n then simply carry the other one back to ur posting spot. my usual strategy esp for 2 player is to fuck around the first few levels (solo play allows for much more of this as ur not competing for kills and therefore money with anyone) then eventually post around the air support (and once it gets real tough DO NOT go inside for any reason during the round) with a regular sentry gun next to the tall crates by the bus and a grenade turret in the lefthand corner of the sidewalk to create a crossfire that essentially annihilates any infantry coming up through the station. the highest i think i ever got was like level 34 with my buddy who's like a cod freak. in essence its the same as ur strategy just on the other side of the map with the tunnel as the escape route. also as far as juggernauts go when they start coming in larger numbers hide ur turrets in the tunnel n either shoot them to hell with an mg36 or L86 (as they reload much quicker than the belt-fed LMGs) or let them chase u around the map til u get them all in a nice little group n drop a fuckin predator right on top of the bastards that way u take them all out at once. as it was already said sleight of hand makes a world of difference as it opens up the possibility of using almost any weapon at least earlier on (i.e pre level 20). also if u intend to be near the ammo box (either by air support or next to ammo) u don't really need 2 LMGs in which case its a very worthwhile idea to keep a .44 magnum as ur secondary that way while u are in last stand (self revive) u don't need to burn through 5 magazines tryna get a kill (stay away from the desert eagle it has way too much recoil to be useful for anything other than pre level 10 amusement. also while playing solo one could quite reasonably run around with either a shotgun or an acog-equipped sniper (RSASS or Barrett .50 work best in terms of power and ammo capacity) as doing this will beef up ur accuracy (often to 100%) yielding you more money, but once ur enemies start coming in droves avoid anything that isn't an assault rifle or an LMG. as far as assault rifles go the ak-47 is still the most powerful so if ur looking to hold on to any rifle it should be that one altho (unless ur one of them cod freaks that can turn any semi-auto into full auto in which case an mk14 its equally appropriate) in the higher levels theres no replacement for a magazine-fed machine gun. one last footnote: under NO circumstances should u mentally equate choppers with juggernauts altho they are equally irritating; at the later levels the choppers should be dealt with before anything else (especially wen playing with a partner as ur turrets can handle the infantry for the 13 seconds it she take for 2 LMG equipped players of reasonable skill to shoot the fucker outta the sky) and juggernauts she be put off as long as possible. also care should be taken when using predator missiles not to accidentally destroy ur turrets or riot/delta squads. sorry for the long comment I jst figured people should know some of these tricks that have worked quite well for me.

This strategy will only get you to the 30s tops. once helicopter come every round they take too much damage to be dealt with before ground enemies. you need to be inside. the long underground tunnel is by far it best setup spot, as it allows only two entrances, and easy back door access to a juggernaut each jug round so it can be killed quickly

i lay down next to the air suppert and plant 1 grande turet on 1 conner and a reguler 1 on the other side while me and my uncle are laying next to them im 12 and i beat the game in 4 days and go to lv 50 on suviver im only lv 30 im multplayer i don't have xbox live

TheFallOfNJ on May 11, 2012:

my friends and i are on opposite sides of the stairs and can make it to 32 in about 45 minutes. we flash the jugs and headshot as much as possible. using assults and lmgs is great on choppers which i find its best to shoot "the piolit" or where his head should be in the cockpit

Hawknar816 on May 04, 2012:

If you're going to use a "dig in" strategy, I find that the best place is actually at the far back end of the level (opposite where you begin). You can place two turrets under the canopy in the waiting area where the air drop crate is located. Put these as far to the side as possible so they cover guys coming up the stairs from within the building as well as both side entrances. The canopy above the guns will shield them from any potential damage from choppers!! The sentries literally will handle 90% of the levels for you until your reach the 25+ waves. All the other suggested tactics still hold; keep flash replenished and self revive. I find that extreme conditioning works well if you want to frequently run to the explosives crate, but otherwise go with sleight of hand. If an escape route is needed, you can bail through the underground subway tunnel and eventually circle back to resume camping. Very rarely will the bad guys utilize the subway, keeping it a safe evacuation point for you and your teammate. Give this a try and good luck!!

Thank you for the help. I will be on level 50 on sunday compared to 49 right now. I will most likely comment on Arkaden if I need any more help.

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on April 27, 2012:

Thanks glad it helped.

Rjmaster on April 27, 2012:

This really helped. Today i just got to level 48. When i get to 50 I will take your advice. I have a question. Can you have a LMG and a 50 cal without dying at a low level? My other question is what two guns would you recommend for a level past 25?(ex. MG36 and MK46)

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on April 25, 2012:

My tips.. I think both, or at least 1 of you needs to reach 50. When you get sleight of hand it changes the WORLD of survival mode as you can reload significantly quicker. It is especially great for the LMG's because they reload at the rate of a normal assault rifle. Only one of you has to be 50, and what you must do is buy sleight of hand, then your brother picks it up, then he gives you the money hitting X(xbox controller) on any crate, then re-buy it for yourself.

As far as your camping spot I would try mine. When me and my partner played, we got to 38, and he left to go to the bathroom, and I managed to hold it two rounds without him until he got back in that spot. You really can survive a long time. Just be sure that when it gets towards the end of a round IF you need to buy ammo or any supplies that is when you leave to do it. Not after the round is over or you may or may not make it back.

Thanks for commenting, I Hope this helps, sorry it took so long to reply, and if you ave ANY other questions please feel free to ask.

Rjmaster on April 25, 2012:

Me and my brother memorized this map. We hide at the guns and get on either side of the stairs and if a chopper comes we go under the stairs. Our record is round 26. He is level 42 and i am 46 so we have good guns but can't get past 26. Do you have tips?

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on April 16, 2012:

Well, you can have 1 from each class. Self revive is a must, but sleight of hand, and others can be brought from the plane looking crate.

p on April 15, 2012:

im curious how the perks work.... it only lets me hav one so i choose revive

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on April 05, 2012:

Yes Slight of hand was key. Most of my guides were written pre level 50, but I suggest slight of hand, or having your friend getting it for you. Either way, I don't mind your area, but the sniper is to weak after lets say level 15 in my opinion it is underpowered.

Kevin Snover on April 05, 2012:

I have gotten to round 33 on team. but i did what you said not to, i purchased a sniper rifle (rsass) and hit down stairs in the one tunnel, i took out everyone from one direction and my friend took out everyone behind me. when jugs came we predator missiled and used LMGs. the RSASS is decent, for the first few rounds its one shot, then every few rounds it takes one more shot unless it's a claymore on the back stairs near the bus, and up front towards the yellow cart. this leaves a small buffer and eliminates a good portion of the enemies. for 2 player i advise one has an ACR or AK and a LMG the other either an assault rifle or the RSASS and an LMG. if you can affford it get sleight of hand. it will save you.

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on April 01, 2012:

Not a bad strategy, I sometimes suggest that to certain people, who have a lot of trouble with helicopters, or people playing solo, but overall, It is not a bat strategy..

13JpGoosen13 on April 01, 2012:

I usualy spare money for a sentry at the first few waves After I have enough for one, then I go up the stairs past the gun and ammo tool. Place turret just outside the small roof outside, near the airdrop tool and away of the flight of stairs... I place claymores if there are enemies coming in from the tunnel, and best part is, if attack choppers are coming, you can take your sentry and shield it under the small roof, back at the seats or inside tunnel... Your'e at airdrop for riot and normal squads, predators and airstrikes for juggernauts big amount of heavily armoured enemies and attack helicopters. Also close to ammo and gun tool, to restock on ammo... Go prone under the small roof to minimize chances of being hit... If things are getting too hot, use tunnels as escape route.

John Reid-Roberts (author) from Boston, Massachusetts on March 17, 2012:

May work, But the tunnel can easily trap you if juggernauts come from both ways.

james on March 16, 2012:

2 Turrets facing the stairs to the Airdrop tool. Right near the start. Now, Riot team and you at the end of the same hall, near the turnstiles watching the corner. Only long run, is to get to armor tool for turrets guns. Ammo and air is very close. I can get over 50 in the tunnel.
