Tips and strategy for Downturn on survival mode in spec ops, on Call Of Duty Modern warfare 3 , how to get far MW3

This guide/hub will teach you the tips and strategies that you can and should use to get to high levels on the map Downturn for survival mode on Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3.

PLEASE NOTE ::: Below is a guide for general strategies for all survival maps that i suggest you read prior to the rest of this hub. I will reference and not going into great detail on the things you should use. But if you read the guide i give full reasons of why you should use each item.

The Map

So first let me talk about what exactly is on the map.

The Orange X's. These are going to be the turret placement. You should aim them facing towards the staircase so that as the enemy comes on down, the turrets will sufficiently take them out.

The Red X's. The red X's will represent the player placement. This is where you are going to be standing during the fight. I will talk about below exactly what each player should be focusing on.

The Blue lines. The blue lines will refer to the path that the enemy will follow. The enemy will follow this path to come after you.

The Reason for this strategy

So first let me talk about why i choose this placement. First off. The helicopters. At this location if played right, your turrets, and you should both be 100% safe from helicopters, and can take them out after the other enemy troops have been defeated. This gives you an immediate edge over the enemy not having to worry about the helicopters.

The second reason that i choose this placement is solely because of the narrows path allows the enemy to file 1 by 1 in order to come in and get slaughtered. This is the second big advantage to this location is it gives you full ability to take the enemy out with great ease. You should have no problem being able to take the enemy out by staying in this location, so now lets get to the actual strategy.

The Strategy

Ok so first of let me talk about the turret placement. The turrets will face the wall. I suggest using two grenade turrets on this map, as they tend to explode on the walls and ricochet and take out more than 1 enemy at a time. This will help you get further in the game as they will do a lot more work, and take less stress off of watching this path. Also the enemy tends to file into a small path as they come down that stair case making this a great location for the turrets.

Now the players. The player closest to the turrets has an easier job. His goal is to solely go back and for the starting by watching the turrets, then watching the other player. You are going to be more the defense line that is guarding both segments, and making sure that neither of them gets bogged down. Remember at high rounds you will be key to survival as you will be the backbone protecting both paths when things start to get over run.

The other play, the one farthest from the turrets will watch the other direction. You should have two light machine guns, with sleight of hand, and be watching the direction opposite the turrets to kill the large amounts of enemies coming at you. You are going to have the most work out of the game at the early levels so be prepared, although in later rounds your partner should be able to help you.

Remember that if you get a riot team or two you should be able to successfully hide behind them and they will take a lot of fire and help protect you. This is especially important for rounds when facing juggernauts. It can be hard to get the down in the cave, just try not to have them come down the staircase there the turrets are ( your turrets will kill them) my suggestion is to call them in, in the middle of the map, and let them walk through the middle to come to you.

On Juggernaut rounds, remember to take them out first. This is your key to your survival in later rounds. If you can hit them with a predator while outside this will help, but heavy light machine gun fire will also take them out easily and quickly. Remember that you should not use flash bangs if you have riot teams as your flash bang will affect them too.

As far as helicopters go. You should be able to leave these for last. These are going to not be able to kill you if you play your cards right, and you can kill off all the enemy before focusing on taking out the helicopters. It is also suggested that while there is still 1 helicopter up you replenish ammo, and anything that you may need on the map. This will allow you replenish and get back into place before the next round starts.

So there you go. If you follow this basic strategy you should ave no problem at all making it to at least 30, and with practice significantly higher. If you have questions please ask below and i will be glad to answer anything you need. Also below are some guides to my other Strategy guides, that will help you out.

also if you are playing in coop... just stick to the plan... climb over the truck...stay there in prone... if you are playing coop then both of them stay at same point... you should buy two LMGs... that would be very helpful... just one thing... ALL IS WELL... best of luck ...;)

there's a white truck in the road that separates the ammo crate and bomb crate building... just climb over it and lay in the middle of the of the truck roof... if the thing blows then it won't affect you..
