Runescape 3 1-99 Summoning Guide 2014 EOC

  • Author:
  • Updated date:

In this guide i will tell you the best, fastest, cheapest and most proftiable way to get 99 Summoning on the online game Runescape.

In my opinion Summoning is a medium leveled skill to master on Runescape this is because the amount of effort it takes to get 99 and also how much money is spent in the process. It also takes quite along time and can also be very boring when going for 99. The Summoning cape is one of the most prestigious capes on the game in my opinion and i probably the favorite skillcape that i have. As with most of my guides, i try to keep them as straight forward as possible but if you have any questions just leave a comment down below. Anyway on with the guide enjoy :)

Getting Started

In order to start Summoning you must complete the Quest Wolf Whistle, this is a very easy quest and it can be started by talking to Pickupstix's in southeast Taverly. The quest is rather short and on completion you will receive 276 summoning XP as well as 275 gold charms. The 276xp will automatically give you level 4 Summoning and the 275 gold charms will be enough to get you to level 16 Summoning.

In order to make a pouch, what you have to do is take an empty pouch, a charm, the correct amount of spirit shards and the corresponding tertiary ingredient for the particular pouch you wish to make. Once you have gathered all of the items go to a summoning obelisk, click on it and then click on the familiar that you wish to create.

The two main summoning obelisks are Taverley and Piscatoris, however you should use the Taverley obelisk until level 57 and then once at 57 you should switch to Piscatoris and you should also use a Spirit Kyatt familiar this is because the XP here is much faster.

Collecting Charms

My personal favourite method to collect charms is by training slayer. As you already probably know by killing monsters you receive charms, by training slayer you are getting your combat level up, slayer level up and at the same time receiving charms.

Another method of collecting charms is by playing games of Soulwars and then using the Seal you receive to purchase charms.

Here are a list of the best monsters that drop specific charms:-

Gold Charms: Giant rock crabs, Fire giants and Hellhounds.

Green Charms: CaveBugs, Bloodvelds and Iron Dragons.

Crimson Charms: Black Demons, Waterfiends (200 p/h), Rock Lobsters (150-200p/h)

Blue Charms: Gargoyles, Suqhas and Aquanites.

Gold Charms

Below are a list of the familiar pouches that you should make with gold charms at each level:

Levels 4-16 Dreadfowl

Levels 16-28 Granite Crab

Levels 28-52 save your charms

Levels 52-66 Spirit Terrobird

Levels 66-99 Barker Toads

Scroll to Continue

It is important to notice that most people actually stop using gold charms after level 85.

Green Charms

Below are a list of the familiar pouches that you should make with green charms at each level:

Until level 28 you should be saving your green charms and therefore not using any.

Levels 28-33 Compost Mound

Levels 33-41 Beaver

Levels 49-56 Magpie

Levels 56-69 Ibis

Levels 69-80 Fruit Bat

Levels 80-88 Hydra

Levels 88-99 Unicorn Stallion

Crimson Charms

Below are a list of the familiar pouches that you should make with Crimson charms at each level:

Levels 22-32 Spirit Tz Kh (Recommended that you save until level 32)

Levels 32-46 Honey Badger

Levels 46-49 Pyrelord

When training I always use your guides as a reference thanks man!

Skyco on April 23, 2016:

That's my guide and it contains entirely opposite information. I have details differentiating mine from his.

Although the titles look similar I wrote a separate guide with the same topic...

It's HubPro & featured:

keleva on October 29, 2014:

You did good..thx.

KalJon on September 19, 2014:

Ice warriors/giants have an amazing drop rate. But every sit fails to mention them.

Josh on August 29, 2014:

I recommend you put the materials you need for each pouch and also maybe put the prices of those materials and shards

not everyone had loads of cash for summoning.

Sosa on August 02, 2014:

I'm kind of curious to hear why people say this is such an expensive skill.

Some even call it the most expensive skill. To be able to process in this skill you've to farm A LOT to get the charms, and during that farm there's no way in hell you're not getting plenty of loot that you can sell, right?

Exactly what is it that makes it so expensive? I just came back to Rs and I stopped at 54 summoning, thinking of getting that to 99 too.

Welkin Art on July 10, 2014:

Hey man just wanted to say thanks for all the guides! I always refer to them when I'm skilling..and they always pointed in the right direction..keep it up =D

Mogzxh on November 16, 2013:

Hi! Magpie's are from level 47 not 49.

Mat on August 26, 2013:

Great guides mate.

Really appreciate the hard work your doing.

A combat guide would be nice, if you had the time :)

Follow me on twitter or on hubpages and within the next 48hours you will be informed when I have published a slayer guide :)

APL on August 14, 2012:

slayer guide plz

JBastow (author) from Gateshead United Kingdom on August 06, 2012:

No problem :)

Tjoomny on August 06, 2012:

Yeah it did thank you really much

JBastow (author) from Gateshead United Kingdom on August 06, 2012:

For levels 28 to 52 you should not make any familiar with gold charms instead you should use your green or crimson charms. At level 85 if you have crimson charms make Moss Titans because they are better xp when compared to Barker Toads. Hope this helped :)

Tjoomny on August 06, 2012:

ey nice guide but on the list of the gold charms stands by level 28 to 52 save your charms?? can you explain what you main with this???

and what do most people use after level 85 with gold charms?

JBastow (author) from Gateshead United Kingdom on July 27, 2012:

Thanks for the support dude, if there's any guides you wish me too write just leave a comment. :)

John on July 27, 2012:

Your guides are amazing, many thanks! Helped me so much!
