Pokemon soulsilver HeartGold

Nostalgia for some, a whole new adventure for others.

Most of us have been exposed to Pokémon, whether through the games, TV show, movies, plush toys, or trading cards. Nintendo and Gamefreak have done it again.

They have managed to enrapture young and old, experienced and inexperienced, with Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver.

HeartGold/SoulSilver are remakes of the Pokémon Gold and Silver games. They’ve taken the original maps and revamped them Diamond/Pearl/Platinum style for the DS. They also make it so that your lead Pokémon follows you around when you walk and you can talk to them.

This is reminiscent of Pikachu in Yellow. Gamefreak has also added a new gadget, the Pokéwalker a Pokéball styled pedometer, which allows you to earn watts as you walk. Although with all these upgrades they didn’t bother to update the sounds that the Pokémon make, sticking to the 8-bit sounds.

The storyline is the same as always, you are a young trainer from a small town and strive to become a Pokémon Master, to catch all the Pokémon (around 500-ish) and beat the champions. Gotta catch ‘em all!

25th Anniversary Set Revealed - & "Fusion" Pokémon Coming

The gameplay and storyline start off fast, it’s easy to level your Pokémon up in the beginning, but as the game progresses it gets slower. The game can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be.

You can either EV train your Pokémon for months or choose just to whizz through the game, playing normally. You can play against friends or just play against the characters in the game.

Navigation is smooth and easy, and gameplay level is your choice (EV’s or not). You can send over a Pokémon from your in-game PC Box to the Pokéwalker.

The watts that you earn with the Pokéwalker can be used to play mini-games to catch Pokémon, get items, or unlock new routes. You can now catch the Generation I bird legendries and MewTwo.

Gamefreak and Nintendo have revamped a classic and made it even better. This is a game one would definitely want to own and keep.

Hi evvy_09,

Welcome, you are the first one to comment on this hub, I appreciate for your visit and comments.

Yes you are right it is getting huge and it is millions of dollar business. I personally don't like these games. I like to play Poker, Chess and Scrabble.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year soon too.

My brother was so into Pokemon several years ago. I thought it was really cute and Misty was pretty cool. Now it's just so huge and more Pokemon are still being added. More than 500 now? wow
