Using Diploma Gear to Get More XP
Breaking Diploma Quest News
Many of you have already noticed that the diploma vendors are NO LONGER on the Island near silence. Do not panic, they have not been removed from the game. They have simply been moved to Greenmont.
This seems a little less convenient, but after I thought about it, I was cool with this change. I do not carry my diplomas in my bag. Since ther is no bank on the Island, you have to run to a bank when you want to get diploma reward weapons and trinkets.
The diploma vendors are now located in the north east part of Greenmont. The icon depicting them is a sword. It is located down the ramp from the central area. They are inside of a building next to the building whos icon is a comb (where you change the look and race of your toon).
Diplomas and Leveling
Diplomas gear might not seem that great, but all OAC players should still get them. A lot of people ask, " What is a diploma for? " For some odd reason, the answers show ambivalence. Personally, I think that even level 70s need to work the diploma quest.
Diplomas are a currency that you can use to buy XP gear. This gear helps you level. The xp buff stacks, but only if you have one of each type. Gear of the same type doesn't stack. Watch the gear mastery, some low level light purple gear doesn't give extra XP.
Diplomas are daily quests, the reward being the diploma. To understand why I think every player needs them, you have to look at the rewards. If you check out the vendors near the diploma quest, you can look at the reward. You can get a nice, sparkly weapon or trinket. There is a good video below.
The stats themselves didn't really impress me, it is the gear mastery that gets my attention. The diploma gear has a gear mastery talent that gives you 15% extra experience on enemies. What? That's right an experience gear mastery! Sweet.
If you are not level 70, you need to go start getting diplomas right now. Seriously, 15% extra experience on enemies can really speed up the journey to 70. Trust me, you want to take your time to get the diplomas. Because it's a daily, it means you can only do it once a day. It will take you 5 days to get a weapon and 7 days to get a trinket. Then you can level faster!
Level 70 to 74 Read This Part!
So, you're all like, "Man, I'm level 70 . I don't need no 15% experience. What are you talking bout woman!" You might be right. Or, I might be right, and if that's the case I will be beating you to 80, when its released.
Wait? Did I just say 80? Think about it!! Getting the level cap raised is something we have been waiting for for a long time. Now, I don't work for Gameloft or Vivendi, so I don't know when they will raise the level cap. However eventually, they are going to raise the level cap. And then 15% experience will seem pretty good.
One day, we will finally get our dreams come true. And here is Gameloft giving us a way to get level 80 even faster. But, there is the problem. The diploma quest is a long chain. Like it takes time to turn a mech pet into a mechanical mount, it takes a long time to get decent diploma gear.
I know I don't wanna be the guy, ( I know, I'm a girl, but whatever) caught without the experience gear mastery reward on day Gameloft makes the level cap 80. Then there is still the question of how long this daily will last? Is I temporary or permanent?
In case you care, I got the dagger for my assassin, who is now 61, Yay! I have to say, boy I wish I had started this earlier. All my alts, including my 70s are getting these!
How Diploma Rewards Work
The way that the Diploma quest rewards work kind of remind me of trading generators temple gear for blue 2.5 epics. You begin by collecting either 5 or 7 diplomas. Then you can trade them in for a weapon or trinket.
The first weapon/trinket you get equates to about level 35, in my opinion. It's not that great. However, it is mandatory that you purchase this first weapon or trinket. To get the next weapon or trinket you trade the first weapon or trinket in with another stack of diplomas. You will continue to trade in the weapon or trinket and a stack of diplomas until you have the best weapon or trinket possible.
As you can see, getting a decent diploma reward is going to take awhile. Now, going back to the wild guess that there will be a level 80 on Order and Chaos Online some day. You must equip the gear to gain the experience. If you only have the first levels your removing valuable stats. You will have a handicap.
If you want the experience boots, but also don't want to be set back in level 70-80 zones, you need the best weapon and trinket possible. It's the easiest quest in the world. You just beat a dummy. I see many of you already beating the dummy in Silence. So why not hit the dummy on the island near Silence?
Some Diploma Gear is Unique Equipped
Some of you might be thinking you'll get two daggers or trinkets. However, it does not work that way. Pay attention to the stats and wording on the weapons and trinkets. You will see it says unique equipped. I took a poll and an overwhelming 72% said the best use for diplomas were weapons.
Any item which is unique equipped, such as daggers, can only be worn once. You can probably waste diplomas on a second dagger. However, I think you'll find that you cannot equip it because it is unique and cannot be worn twice.
If you don't know where to go for the diploma quest keep reading. The initial quest starts in Silence. There is an NPC on the left side of the road heading to the must traders camp. This quest will take you to the big island North East of Silence. Once you finish the quest, you no longer go to Silence to get the quest. You will return to the island.
I'm excited for my alts, and excited to know that if level 80 comes, the journey won't take as long.

Sisyphus, I just used my ranger to buy a one handed warrior sword for my tank. So yes, that is what bound to account means. You can mail diploma rewards to characters on the same account.
Sysiphus on January 27, 2015:
So quick question. Can I buy diploma items for one of my chars with a different character and then mail them? I assume that is what binds on account means but I can't find anywhere official to clarify.
Sork on December 28, 2014:
You can get a greater legacy item even at level 1, it will have lower stats but they do increase automatically as you level. It will say "requires levels 1-70 (1)" and whatever your level is, the number will change in the parenthesis to match your current level. If you mail it to another character it's number will change to their level and back when you send it back.
oacman on December 02, 2014:
You can have 2 or the same weapon... But only one trinket
Evilmonkey2148 on November 03, 2014:
Do you know if I get a high level diploma weapon(example..Greater sunfire longsword) with a low level character, first will the weapon stats be lower?, If so, will the stats increase as the character does.
jebjeb on October 27, 2014:
The diplomas are bop items and the gear is boa gear. So theory says you can do the daily on all toons then use the diplomas from others to max out the gear level. By mailing the item to the toon with enough diplomas to upgrade it.
Sork on September 26, 2014:
My name is Sork, not Dork... Dang autocorrect
Dork on September 26, 2014:
Warning! Do not buy 2 trinkets, they are unique equip, meaning you cannot wear both at once. The daggers and fist weapons are fine though, you can have 2 of those on at the same time
Jade Griffin (author) from Ohio on September 15, 2014:
Thank you sork! I appreciate your Accurate information! Boy I wish we had these back when I was leveling! Looks like you can buy diplomas in the nick shop, I wonder if they will stay, and/or go on sale. On a new toon I'd rather have these than a bunch of blessings!
Sork on September 15, 2014:
Good guide, I would add that the quest start NPC is floating blue orb very close to the silence training dummies and that 30% IS POSSIBLE with weapon and trinket, but it shows as two separate masteries, each stating 15%. Also, the third weapon is 30 additional diplomas, not just another 5. Finally, 2 handers are 8, 8, & 40 diplomas for all you monk healers, 2h warriors and mages out there.
Jade Griffin (author) from Ohio on September 05, 2014:
I see, I only have one. The weapon says it doesn't stack with other weapons and the trinket says it don't stack with other trinkets, do you have two? If that's the case they should be labeled that better!!! I'll look again, but let me know. I did notice that they actually labeled the trial ticket! Yay no n more getting the wrong one. The other thing that needs labeled better is the beginning crafting, I wonder if they fixed that???? Please get back to me so I can fix this!!! I don't want to recommend two if they don't stack!!! I appreciate the feedback!! I want the most accurate info, and don't want to misinform!
Rageturtle on September 04, 2014:
Yo, don't know if they changed it or if you made a misstake, the 15% exp boost don't stack with similar items so a trinket+wep wont give you 30% :)
Nick Deal from Earth on August 28, 2014:
Thanks for writing these! I'm still getting my feet wet in OAC but I'm sure I'll get there soon.
MrG on August 27, 2014:
Loving these guides, this really is one of the best sources for OaC I've found. Keep up the great work. :)
Jade Griffin (author) from Ohio on August 27, 2014:
Thanks, Alin. No worries, OAC is played in countries all around the globe. I'll put epochs and mechanical gears on my list!
Alin on August 27, 2014:
Hi, I like all your guides. Can you make a guide about how to make faster essence of epoch (or fragment of epoch) and mechanical gears.
Sry for my bad english, I'm romanian. :)
