My Top 4 Gacha Games for iOS / Android

Johan is an undergraduate Computer Engineering student who likes Playing Video Games, Watch Anime, and Building PCs.

"Gacha" games are the real word equivalent of the coin-slotted-toy-collecting capsule vending machines found in japan and of course Gacha games costs way higher than the vending machines. In Video Game terms it can be closely related to what we hate the most known as "loot boxes", although not entirely similar to Loot Boxes, Gacha draws usually contain Collectible Characters and/or Weapons found exclusively in a specific Gacha game. Their rarities are usually represented with Letters denoted by B,A,SR,SSR (with B being the Common one and SSR the rarest) and sometimes by the number of stars floating above or below their names. With these being said, which of these Gachas is actually worth your time?.

Here's my top 4 picks of Gacha games:

#1 Brave Frontier.

One of the very first Gachas I've ever played on mobile specifically on android, and it's probably one of the first Gacha games ever. One of the main reasons i adored Brave Frontier was because of its pixel graphics, at the time i picked this game up i recently just finished re-playing Chrono Trigger on my NDS and was craving for that old-school adventure rpg type of game. The Art work of the characters are pretty good in my opinion, but the thing that really captivated me was its soundtrack the orchestra on the main menu was really soothing to listen to as well as the different musics that play on each continent and levels. Picking up the game wasn't difficult as well as the developers are really kind to new players giving out numerous gem, summoning tokens and energies for you to be able to play and catch up to the veterans. Numerous Collaboration with famous titles has also been accomplished by the publishers, titles such as "My Hero Academia" and "The King of Fighters".So if you're a fan of old school pixelated RPGs then Venture forth the world of Grand Gaia.

#2 Grand Summoner.

One of the most recent Gacha games i've played. it attracted me due to its similar art style with Brave Frontier with the difference of some characters have mouths. But the thing that i liked about Grand Summoner is its many variation and combinations in constructing your in-game team whether its for PVP or for PVE mainly due to the fact that each weapon that you can equip to your character has its own skills that you can use to further buff up your summoned warriors, skills such as increasing the Arts gauge which enables the use of a special skill unique to each characters that also has varying effects, a sword that deals a percent of elemental dmg, and even weapons that deal various status ailments to your opponents. It has also featured collaborations with titles such as "One Punch Man" and "That time i got reincarnated as a slime" .The Developers are also very generous in this game providing newbies with various boosts and tokens to be able to summon more units to get you started up, even giving a way to choose your very own specific unit rather than drawing it in gacha (So do some research on unit tiers before going in the game).

#3 Brown Dust.

Probably the most underrated Gacha game on this list and the most strategic in my opinion. I first discovered Brown Dust while randomly searching for Gacha games that fit my tastes in the App store. In This game isn't your typical turn by turn RPG mobile game The main mechanic of this game is optimal placements of units within a field in order to maximize the defectiveness of each of their own unique skills now this game captivated me due to this unique game play mechanic (its unique for me) and rather cute art style. Also it has hot anime girls wearing skimpy outfits.

#4 Dengeki Bungko: Crossing Void

My current Favorite Gacha game. If your a huge fan of Light Novels Such as To Aru Majustsu No Index, Hataraku Maou-Sama, Sword Art Online, Shakugan No Shana and many more, then you're in for a treat because this game features characters from various well known light novels as its gacha units. But thats not all, the game also features fully voiced characters by their respective anime counter parts (for those that have anime adaptations), unique strategic game play with their crossing void features which allows certain characters to have unique attack interactions with other characters along with some various status buffs and ailments, for example pairing Shana (shakugan no shana) with Misaka (to aru majustsu no index) will enable her to use a skill called "cute girls". That aside, The Developers are also very generous to both new and existing players providing them with Log log in bonuses as well as novice bonuses for extra gacha coins.
