Finding Toy Brands not Made in China
Each year at Christmas there seems to be a rush to find toys not made in China. And since Christmas is the biggest toy-buying season of the year, it only makes sense that there would be a huge rush to buy toys not made in China at Christmas.
The problem is finding those toys. A lot of the major American or European toy manufacturers actually have factories in China. So how do you know it you're really buying toys not made in China? Here are 3 companies who always have plenty of toys, not made in China, no matter what time of year you're shopping.
Our family owns and plays with these toys. I can recommend them. And I do!

3 Favorite Manufacturers Of Toys Not Made In China
These 3 toy brands are not made in China. Yet, because they're not made by the big toy companies (who just happen to own Chinese manufacturing facilities) you're probably never heard of them. And because none of these toys resemble a super hero or cartoon character, your child hasn't heard of them either. You'll find, though, that these toys are of much higher quality and your child will be able to enjoy them for years instead of just a matter of hours. All of them are made of safe, non-toxic materials and they're just plain fun to play with.
- Kathe Kruse: Kathe Kruse toys are made in Germany and distributed world wide. These top quality toys, puppets and dolls are suitable for infants and toddlers. All of her toys are made of soft, colorful fabrics with no small parts that can fall off and become choking hazards. Some of her most popular items include her grabbing dolls which help stimulate eye-hand coordination for infants, and her dolls which are loved by collectors worldwide.
- Montgomery Schoolhouse: Montgomery Schoolhouse has its manufacturing facilities here in the United States and their specialty is wood toys. Yes, you'll find old-time favorites like wood puzzles and building blocks, and even that cool red fire engine you had when you were a kid. And you'll also find safe, colorful baby rattles and toys for all ages.
- Kallisto: Kallisto has a wide variety of baby toys, not made in China. They're safe, cuddly, machine-washable, and on top of everything else, they're organic. The organic fabrics used in all of the Kallisto toys are environmentally friendly so you'll be starting your baby off right. And you'll find eco-friendly toys for toddlers, too, including a cute little stuffed animals with music boxes.

Care about the toys you buy, look at where they are made!
This Christmas, when you buy toys not made in China, look for toys that are also not made by the same companies that own those Chinese factories. There are plenty of alternatives out there. And now that you've heard about some of them, you should go buy their toys.

Green Toys, Plan Toys, American Plastic Toys, Playmobil, Bigjigs, Ravensburger, Hot Wheels (at least the cars themselves). It seems like several German toy companies do not manufacture in China. I found another called Klein or Theo Klein (gifted to us by European relatives). I am unsure if Klein and Theo Klein are the same company, and I am also unsure of how easy, or difficult, it is to find their products through American distributors (still working on this one).

Thank you, thank you for this hub. My son doesn't want his child to have anything made in China. It is so hard to find toys. Hope you can add even more finds.
