There are many benefits to upgrading to a Porygon2 in HeartGold. You either get one of the following abilities with your Porygon2 : Trace or Download.
Many Pokémon players would love to get this rare Pokémon to fill up the pokedex but don't know how. In this hub, we'll tell you how to upgrade Porygon into Porygon2 including how to get a Porygon.
Porygon: Everything You Need To Know
Porygon is a man-made Pokémon, the product of lots of research by Silph Co in Saffron City. It consists entirely of programming code, allowing it to convert itself back to program data. This allows it to move freely in cyberspace. The code that Porygon consists of is fairly restrictive, limiting Porygon to certain pre-programmed actions and reactions.
How to get a Porygon
First of all, you need to get a Porygon before you upgrade it to Porygon2. You can buy Porygon in the Celadon Game Corner Exchange for 9,999 Coins or trade from Diamond and Pearl. Unfortunately, this is the only way to get him in Heartgold/Soulsilver. Read on, to find out how to upgrade your Porygon to a Porygon2.
Handy for Filling Up Your Pokedex
Upgrade to Porygon2
Once you have Porygon, get a Up-Grade in Kanto in Silph Co which is in Saffron City. Talk to an officer inside of Silph Co. in the middle of the city and he'll give you an Upgrade, which you can give to a Porygon and trade it to cause it to evolve into Porygon2. Nifty! Trade Porygon while holding the Up-Grade to HeartGold/Soulsilver/Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. These must be separate versions on separate versions on separate DS's. To trade, go to any Pokémon Centre. Go on to the second floor and talk to the second reception woman. You will then enter the Union Room, then you may trade Porygon to another version of the above. He will then evolve on the other version. Trade him back to your version and you now have your very own Porygon2!
