Introduction to Hearthstone

Hearthstone is an online game in which the players have to collect cards. They play the game based on digital collectible cards. The game is developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. They have taken characters of the cards from their very popular Warcraft series. The game was released back in 2014 and since then it has millions of players.

Availability of the Game

The game is free to download and play. However, players can use the money to download a new random pack of cards that are generated by the game. Moreover, you can buy these cards with the in-game currency and this currency can be bought by playing the game again n again.

Process of the Game

The game consists of two players facing each other in the game. Every player has a set of 30 cards in their deck and every player has a selected hero with unique abilities. The main goal of the game which players follow is to break through the defense of the other player and destroy their hero.

To play effectively, you must have four different card types. The four types are Minions, Hero cards, Spell, and Weapons. You can make your own strategy during the game and even before the game. Moreover, all the cards are arranged in the rarity order, i.e., legendary, epic, rare, and common.

How to Play the Game?

Before starting the match, you have to select one of the decks you have to play the game. After that, you can view all nine classes and select the kind of deck you want. Moreover, you can build your own deck but there are default-built decks present in the game from where you can choose. If you want to win the game and play an effective match, you must choose your play-style wisely and your deck accordingly.

At the beginning of each match, there is a coin task and the player who wins the task, go first. After this, the player is shown three cards from their decks and they can decide whether they want to start with them or not.

However, the player that goes second starts with four cards instead of 3 cards. The second player also receives a coin card which he can use any time as a plus card. Mostly this coin card is a spell card in the game to provide extra mana to the second player. Every round comes with a 75 seconds timer in which you can think of your next move.

Mana and the Cards

Every player starts with one mana crystal card and after every turn, the player gains an extra crystal card. Mana crystals are then used each turn to play your cards or use your heroes’ abilities. You also draw one new card from the top of your deck at the beginning of each round.

But remember, the powerful your cards will be the more mana crystals you will require. So, in the early game, you must play with less powerful cards and save your mana for the ending attacks.

Moreover, you can read the information on the card that your opponent has played. After you have chosen your cards and planned out a strategy, you can attack them.

How the deck is built?

You build decks by spending gold that you earn from card packs with randomly generated cards, or you can also use the micro-transaction store to buy packs without the need of spending in-game gold. Some of these cards are specific to a class, but there’s also a good amount of cards that are available for all classes.

Basics of Hearthstone Game Play

Well, if you have always wanted to know the basics of the Hearthstone game, then you are at the right spot. In this article, I will help you to understand the basics of the Hearthstone game with easily understandable knowledge.

What exactly is Hearthstone?

Hearthstone is an online collectible card game that is available for you to play on PC, Android, and iPhone. You will pick up the deck along with the kind of hero you want from the nine classes and the first player will play his card. The player will reduce the health of their opponents will win the game.

What is Mana and What it has to do in the Game?

Every move you make in the game, helps you earn some mana crystal. You can collect these mana crystals and can use them at the right time. These mana crystals will help you in casting spells and in summoning the minions. The powerful your card will be at the time of the move, the higher mana you will get.

However, at the start, an extra of 10 mana crystals are added to help the player start in a strong way. You can use spells to target the opponent's cards or the minions directly. Minions have attack and health scores which indicate how much damage they do when battling enemies.

How the deck is built?

Players build 30-card decks with cards they earn through gameplay or in-app purchases. Some cards are specific to classes, while others are available to all classes. Each deck can have up to two of the same card or one if it's a powerful legendary card. If your collection has more than two of a card or more than one of a given Legendary you can disenchant the duplicates into Arcane Dust, which can in turn be used to craft other cards.

Taking care of the Minions

Once you have started playing the game at a higher level, you will start to want more minions than your opponent. I know sometimes attacking the other player is not what will make you happy. But eliminating their minions from the games will surely make you happy.

The other reason why you must take care of the minions is that spells will end after a single attack. But the minions can come again and again to attack freely.

Moreover, you can save your minions by attack the opponent’s minions through spells. That means they can last longer on the board and do more damage turn overturn. Your own healing effects and spells can also help ensure your minions get good mileage before they're destroyed, so don't be shy about healing them instead of yourself.

Modes of Games

There are multiple modes of games which you can enjoy. However, if you are a new player to the game, and want to keep your sanity intact, then Casual Standard is your deal. These matches are less competitive which means you do not have to stress your mind more. Standard mode means you'll only encounter cards that have been released in the last two years.

But if you get into a match where Playing Wild is the norm, then the competition will come hard on you. If you ever feel the fatigue settling in, play some Solo Adventures. They have unique cards not available in multiplayer matches, producing some high-power, high-fun outcomes.

How to get a too strong collection of cards?

If you want a string collection of cards especially the hero cards to make a powerful attack, level up. With each card reached the highest level of 10, you will be able to make powerful attacks on the opponent’s card. If you're completing your daily quests and playing the full breadth of classes, it shouldn't take too long to get your heroes up to level 10.

Hearthstone Best Practices

Hearthstone has taken the world of gaming with surprise and millions of players are now playing this game. This is a free-to-play game in which you can play as much as you want. The game is an online collectible card game in which players have to choose one deck and play against the deck of the other player.

Each deck of the player has 30 cards and they can have a hero card that has unique abilities. The goal of the game is to break through your opponents’ defense and destroy their hero.

However, overall there are four kinds of cards in the game: minions, heroes, spells, and weapons. All cards are also ordered in rarity, from legendary (which is the rarest), followed by epic, rare, and common. Players then deal their cards with different strategies and counter attacks to finally defeat their opponents’ heroes to go for the win. Let’s have a look at the practices which are followed by players in the game.

Trust the Mage

The Mage is the default starter class in Hearthstone for a reason: The deck's core cards are pretty well-rounded and the class's play mechanics are easy to get the hang of. As a starter player, it is always good to start with this card as they are easy to play and understand.

Moreover, if you are thinking of the order in which the cards are unlocked or played, then follow this. Firstly, unlock or launch the Mage card, after that Paladin, Rogue, and the Warlock. But remember, if you are lacking the Mage cards in the deck, it will get tough on you.

Build the Deck and Class you want from the Start

The best thing about hearthstone is that it allows players to play multiple heroes at one time and you can arrange your deck accordingly. Moreover, what you can do is go after a single class, build them one by one and then move on to the next class. In this way, all of your classes will be ready for the match. Focus on finding a good mid-level deck for the class you'd like to play; worry about getting or crafting legendaries down the line.

Free Game but Purchasing Helps

This is a free game, that’s a surety, but purchasing certain items will increase your overall experience. Moreover, the new stuff which you will purchase through your money will help in defeating those opponents who do not have it.

Crafting to Strengthen the Deck

Now, comes the important thing which people are doing these days. You can get rid of all those cards which you do not want to see on your list. This will help in freeing up space for new cards. For this, you can do it to the crafting center and can start working on the cards.

If you want to add new cards to the deck, go to My Collection of the game and start adding whatever you want in your deck. If you're starting and building a deck for a specific character, you can get good cards for that character much faster.

Spending Gold in the Arena

Once you have unlocked all the Heroes, it is time for you to enter the arena and do more. In the arena, you will be able to earn more cards. This time it won’t be cards alone, but you will be able to get other packs too from the arena. Moreover, in the area, you will get a chance to draft one of the three random characters you want to use. Build it wisely by following a strategy.
