Hot Wheels ID Cars Full List: Collection, Category, and Class Stats

Joe, his wife, and son play with Hot Wheels as a family hobby. Experienced collectors & customizers, they own several hundred of the cars.

Hot Wheels ID: Truly Their Latest and Greatest Product for Bringing Generations Together

My family collects Mattel Hot Wheels cars as a shared hobby. Each of us specializes in a different interest and area of expertise. My wife is the hardcore collector who scours the stores, swap meets, and online retailers for unique collectibles. My son has cases, bins, buckets, and shelves of the cars which he races on a variety of mutant wall tracks we've built around the house. For myself, I was mostly just happy to share their hobby. I bought a few of the toys here and there to share their interest, but the way I'd played with them as a child has gone out of style in the modern toy and video game era. Luckily, the new Hot Wheels ID line of cars brings to life my favorite thing about the toys for today's generation of children, battling cars to see who could go the fastest, farthest, highest, and hardest.

These uniquely identifiable cars can be used with portable device apps to track their scale performance data. This level of detail goes beyond video games and toys, drawing the interest of car enthusiasts and auto professionals. Hot Wheels ID has something to offer anyone with an interest in gaming, toy cars, or real automobiles, bringing together even more generations of family and friends for quality play. These easy to read charts are helpful to anyone who wants to collect the Hot Wheels ID line, become competitive at the accompanying racing game app for phones and tablets, or master rigorously testing and racing the toy cars.

Hot Wheels ID revives my sepia-toned childhood by reinventing what I liked best about them. Endless battles of speed, distance, flight, accuracy, and "smash" on home made ramps and launchers. The app and portal replace the tape measure and stopwatch.

Hot Wheels ID Statistical Charts

If you're really digging into play with Hot Wheels ID toy cars or mobile games, eventually you'll want to know which ID cars you can buy from retailers or which virtual cars to unlock with game currency to participate in certain challenges. Maybe you just want to test all the Batmobiles against each other to see which one is the King of the Cave and want to know their individual attributes...

Either way, there wasn't a lot of detailed information available online. I took exhaustive notes from the mobile app to create these charts for myself and my family. I hope you find them useful and visit for updates.

Hot Wheels ID Mobile App Race Qualifications

If the video game aspect of Mattel's coolest new product is your primary interest, you'll need to know which cars qualify for special races. This way you can plan which cars to buy or how to spend your virtual game points to enhance your overall progress. Special race categories are primarily divided by Racing Classes S through D, and Special Qualifications (Spec). This chart will save you lots of time backing in and out of different races to see which cars qualify in specific categories.

Hot Wheels, my inner 8-year-old thanks you for the Knight Rider Trans Am. The Delorean Time Machine was also sweet. To complete my personal nostalgia series I'm going to need The Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino, The General Lee, and the A-Team Van.

Joe Capristo (author) from Greensboro, NC on November 06, 2020:

Andrew Sutton, an update will be up soon. I lost interest for a minute because it looked like COVID quarantine killed this product line before it really got going. I even ran into a Mattel rep restocking Hot Wheels at a local Walmart and she, too, gave me the impression it was doomed. But recently I have noticed the occasional rarely seen new ID car in stores. I have also seen a new version of the Smart Track Starter Kit in stores. It is definitely a new product because it has fewer track parts and an extra car. Whether this is a sign that Mattel is going to try to give the product line another shot this Christmas, or it's the last of what's out there making it's way to shelves, it has recharged my interest and I'm getting competitive with the app again. I'll be updating my charts with the latest info soon. Thanks, for reading.
