Halloween. A time to trick or treat, dress in the most disturbing, or disturbingly cute, costumes, and generally scare people. But if that's not your cup of tea, horror games are the next best thing. Will likely update this list with more titles soon.
What's a better horror/action game than one with zombies, that doesn't have Biohazard/Resident Evil in the title? I can name over 20, but let's go with Days Gone. With a good story, excellent gameplay that involves motorcycles and crafting, and some panic inducing sequences. Complete with infected animals!
Are you accusing me of going AWOL?
A NSFW game on Steam. More Dark Fantasy than horror, but still a perfect game to play. Especially with the prologue being free.
"Become a demonic priestess of lust and use her unique skills to take revenge on your enemies. Regain your kingdom, making hell tremble under your hooves! Leave no one alive if they won't bend the knee."
A game that can get your heart pumping in several different ways. It's also a spin-off of the horror game Agony.
A VR zombie game. What could be better than playing a zombie game in VR? Aside from making a fool of yourself if you happen to play the game on your 64" smart TV in the living room during a family gathering, while aiming an imaginary gun at everyone and yelling "BOOM! Headshot!"
Gorgeous graphics, jump scares, satisfying zombie kills and a co-op mode make it worth playing.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Of course, I had to add a RE title. Went with 7, because of it's horror roots, story and that one damn jump scare. Dropped the controller, and went "What the hell?!" And with Resident Evil Village coming soon, people need to jump on the band wagon, and figure out what the hell made Chris become the new Wesker.
We're all dead here!
Dead by Daylight
Wasn't going to put an online game here, but Dead by Daylight is something every horror fan should play. A 4vs1 game, where one person plays the killer, while the others play survivors trying to er, well, survive. Hey, we all dreamed of playing a game where we can play as a supernatural slasher hunting sex crazed teens! After this, it was Friday the 13th the Game, which came out a year later. Did Jason seriously get over shadowed here?
And with constant DLC, we can all live that dream.I recommend the Silent Hill chapter.
I admit, haven't had a chance to play this one yet. But trying to get my hands on it.
I do love the concept of it. You play as a newly turned Vampire, who is also a doctor. Being torn between duty and lust. Helping those afflicted by a flu, and feeding on those that you heal.
Thirsty. So thirsty.
