Kids Playing Hand Clapping Games

Rhyming hand clapping game is a popular game among school kids, especially girls. The game requires two people and a rhyming song to go with the clapping. They sing the song as they clap their hands against each others following the rhythm. They sometimes would do some dance make body movements to go with the lyrics.

Some of the popular hand clapping game songs are:

When the children play the rhyming hand clapping game mainly for the benefit of having fun and making new friends, many people, including myself, find it educational and can help improve kids motor and cognitive skills. Most of the rhyming hand clapping game songs are short and upbeat. Kids can easily extend the song by creating the lyrics that rhyme. Or they can just simply create their very own silly rhyming hand game songs. One of the teachers I know even make it as part of the in class activities for learning rhyming words or poems because she finds this activity help the students master their rhyming words in an easy, fun and effective way.

Not only school kids find hand clapping game fun, some parents like to do it with their babies too. I've seen parents hold their babies' hands and clap with them as they sing the rhyming songs.

Hand clapping games make it easy for kids to learn rhyming words by clapping and singing in fun lyrics and upbeat rhythms. Have fun!

I like to do hand clapping games with my kids and I find that they absolutely love it. Besides the entertainment and playfulness they allow, I do believe that they can actually be used to teach rhyming as you have said. Some of the geography and history I learned as a child I did from such games and songs. Thanks for sharing.
