Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titans QR Codes List

Author:

Overview

Etrian Odyssey IV is the latest title in a series of Nintendo DS games, and the first to make the official jump to the Nintendo 3DS. One of the new features to the game is the ability to read (and generate! more on that below) QR codes which give bonus items in game.

The demo was released for the game on February 7, 2013 and, interestingly enough, is fully capable of reading QR codes just like the full game. Even more than that any progress you make in the demo can be transferred directly to the full game if you choose to get it when it is released on February 26, 2013. This includes any bonus QR content you activate.

There are two types of QR codes available for Etrian Odyssey IV: bonus cards and guild cards. The bonus cards are being released through various websites over time, and I'll do my best to collect them all here in one easy-to-find spot. The guild cards are user generated and contain information about their particular guild (these can also be passed along using StreetPass). This is a pretty neat feature, and so I'll also put up the QR code of any player who either leaves a link in the comments below of sends it to my twitter @suraph. The instructions for generating a QR code are listed below.

Reading a QR Code

The ability to read a QR code in Etrian Odyssey IV is not available right away, but comes along pretty quickly. You will have to complete the first mission the given at the Mark Grand Court to earn your airship (this mission largely acts as a tutorial and is not very difficult). Once you've earned your airship visit the City Gates and you'll be met by a mechanic who will ask you to join him at the Cargo Wharf. Go to the Cargo Wharf and he'll explain about QR cards, and give you a gift for your airship. You will also now be able to make your own QR cards and read QR cards by visiting the Cargo Wharf.

With that activated all you need to do is select "Read QR code" and then hold your 3DS up to the computer screen to capture the code. It will grab the code very quickly and give you your prize. Each prize can only be redeemed once per save, to avoid easily stocking up on very powerful items.

You can watch the video below, released by the game's publisher, Atlus, to familiarize yourself with the QR code process. (The QR code in the video is listed below, so don't worry about needing to pause it. The other three that appear in the video don't seem to register properly.)

Weapons

Weapons are, naturally, your primary form of offense in the game unless you're fielding an all Mages party (not recommended). These QR codes provide some good early game weapons to put at your disposal that will give you a boost. They'll get outclassed as the game moves on, but they'll shine early on.
