I'm an entrepreneur with a variety of interests that range from comics to anime.

What awaited us this year was bonkers.

What awaited us this year was bonkers.

Devolver knocked it out of the park with a great showcase. Granted some of the games don't have official dates, and I was hoping to hear more about Wizard With A Gun, but we'll get into that after the assessment.

Games from Left to right:The Plucky Squire, Desta, and Cult of The Lamb.

You get to shoot and kick stuff. What more could you ask for?

The Assessment...

First was Cult of The Lamb, a top down action game where you play as a lamb who runs own cult. You manage the cult and fight off enemies who threaten it. Cult of The Lamb will be available August 11th 2022 on Steam, PS4/PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Next was Angerfoot, a cartoonishly stylized FPS from the creators of BroForce, Gorn, and Genital Jousting. With that said, the showing of the primary weapons in this game being fire arms and kicks makes sense. You can add it on Steam Wishlist, as there’s no specific date announced, but will be coming out in 2023. There is also a demo on Steam available for Windows.

After that was Card Shark, a narrative driven game in 18th Century France where you play as a boy named Eugene who’s adopted into a noble family. From there the player learns 28 techniques in playing cards and swordsmanship to help through trials and tribulations portrayed as mini-games. Card Shark is available now for Steam and Nintendo Switch.

Next was The Plucky Squire, where you play as a young squire named “Jot” and go on an epic adventure. Your adventure takes you from the pages of a story-book to multiple surfaces in a child’s bed room, as 3-D and 2-D graphics were displayed in the trailer. To top that off, it’ll be available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. And I hope the developers take their time developing and programming, because this game looks incredibly ambitious.

Lastly was “Skate Story,” where you play as a demon made of glass and pain skateboarding through various environments. Amusing how skateboarding games are still being made, but makes sense since the niche still exist. Consumers can add Skate Story to their “wish lists,” as it has no announced date or platforms yet.

Why would a creature made of glass learn skateboarding? That just sounds suicidal.

No, there are no sharks involved in this.

Conclusion...

In Conclusion, this was another great showcase from Devolver. My only gripe is that we did not get any news regarding Wizard With A Gun and Demon Throttle which were slated to come out this year. And hopefully we do get some news on those eventually. And I hope we get news on official releases for Wizard With A Gun, Demon Throttle, Angerfoot, Plucky Squire, and SkateStory eventually. Again Devolver knocked it out of the park with new and interesting games, and I hope they’re able to do so next year.
