Dragon Nest SEA Alchemist-Adept PvE/PvP Skill Build (T4) Level 50

I have been playing Dragon Nest SEA since the closed beta of the game. By then, the academic class is not yet available. After a while in the open beta, i quit due to boredom. The game only has Level 24 as the max level and it doesn't really have a lot of things going on. As an online gamer since 2003, activities like quest or a raid while online always keeps people interested and continue playing the game. If you run out of things to do, then, that is where boredom starts.

I went back playing when the maximum level was 40 and chose to play the academic class instead of the sorceress class that i played during closed and open beta.

I found the academic class interesting with its summon and the ability to choose between magic and physical attack. You can change to the first job at level 15 from the academic class. You can either be an engineer or an alchemist. Since I am a magic user at heart, my 1st job was to become an alchemist.

After the release of the level 50. The alchemist can either go Adept or Physician. The Adept is a class that has skills focusing on attack while the physician skills are more on support. I chose the adept class as my 2nd job because I feel that it would suit my playing style rather than the Physician.

The skills also had a tremendous overhaul as the requirement for each skill changed and new players must be careful in order not to sway from their ideal build.

For me, my ideal build can be found below. It also contains explanation why i did or did not add skill points to a certain skill.

Academic Skill Tree

Stun Grenade Lvl 9 - Higher Chance of Stunning and Higher Damage

Wax Lvl 5 - Higher Chance to Slip. Very useful if you are against warrior types and Archer types.

Dodge Lvl 5 - Faster Cooldown

Aerial Evasion Lvl 4 - Faster Cooldown

Health Bolster Lvl 4 - Increases Max HP by 12%

Mental fortitude - Increases Max MP by 12%

Attuned Mind Lvl 3 - Increases your MP Recovery by 4.5 every 2.5 minutes

Dispenser Lvl 1 - For random pots like HP, MP, Movement, Stun, Critical and Damage

Bubble Bubble Lvl 3 - To complete the 45 Skill Points requirement

Leave all other skill to Lvl 1.

You might be wondering why i did not add more skill to Bubble Bubble. For me i find it to cause delay when i am instead doing high damage skill. It is a very useful skill, however i prefer investing on damage based skills.

Alchemist Skill Tree

Scroll to Continue

Magma Punch Lvl 12 - For a stronger Magma Punch Ex

Magma Wall Lvl 9 - For damage

Magma Wave Lvl 7 - For damage

Mixed Infection Lvl 5 - For damage. Combo with Poison Break.

Poison Break Lvl 7 - For damage. Cast Mixed infection first then follow up with Poison Break. This must be done immediately after casting Mixed Infection to ensure maximum damage. If this skill does a critical damage, then you can be sure that you have dealt at least 30% to 50% of damage to a tank character.

Cocktail Lvl 4 - Increases Power, Agi(Crit), Int(Damage) by 18% and Skill cooldown by 12%

Eureka Lvl 1 - Increase 1% INT per Alchemic Bubble. Reduces 1.5% of Physcial Attack and Magical Attack Alchemic Per Bubble. Maximum of 10 Alchemic Bubbles.

Hypnosis Lvl 1 - Very Helpful in escaping Attacks. It will repel you backward once you are attacked and you have press the normal attack key. I was saved from certain death several times with this skill.

Elemental Bubble Charging Lvl 1 - earn an extra alchemic bubble once a fire skill is used. Help you get the maximum of 10 Alchemic Bubbles faster.

Chemical Bubble Charging Lvl 1 - earn an extra alchemic bubble once a dark skill(poison) is used. Once again to help earn the maximum alchemic bubble at the fastest possible time.

Icicle Expression Lvl 1 - Ultimate Skill. High damage. I only got this one even though you can also get Poison Pool. However, if one ultimate skill is used, the other will share its cool down. For me I feel the Icicle Expression is the right choice as it does not allow and enemy to escape once it hits.

Leave all other skills to Level 1

Adept Skill Tree

C2H5OH Lvl 2 - For more damage

Magma Punch Ex Lvl 1 - Available at Level 47

Ice Beam Lvl 1 - Available at Level 50

Overall I find my skill build ideal for PvE and PvP as it packs a lot of damage skills and a balance of support / assist skills. In Pvp I spam Magma Punch a lot as it has faster cooldown than any other spell and has a good damage in Lvl 12.

If you are looking for video card and has a few dollars to spare. Check out the following cards.

I chose them because of the power saving capability over Nvidia cards.

Gigabyte R9 280x

Asus AMD R9 280x

Hey I found this one that I think you should really get for your graphics card.

Gigabyte HD7790

Combine an Intel Processor and a AMD Graphics card for your gaming rig. So enjoy and have fun playing :)

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on November 20, 2013:

Napalm Bomb does not do a lot of damage compared to other skills. You are thinking Low Cd right. But if you invest in it, you will find out that you will not have enough to invest on your Main DPS spells like Mixed Infection + Poison Break Combo, Magma Wall and Magma Wave and of course Magma Punch with Magma Punch Ex that in my opinion is more spammable that Napalm Bomb.

But this is just your guide. You can choose to follow it or you can choose to make your own. It's just that this is the build that works for me.

lalala~ on November 19, 2013:

just wanna ask why leave napalm bomb to level 1? it's a good DPS skill anyway with its low CD.

hey im new player that play alchemist job but i didn't get it what is the bubbles mean?

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on July 02, 2013:

Hi been so long. This is a Level 50 build not 60. Magma wave is maxed for 50 in this build.

For 60, I will make a new hub a soon as I have the time to do so. Busy at work. I will of course focus on this build (Offense type)

@reyman cabela

Bubble charging is essential to get to 10 bubbles faster. Why is this so? For Eureka skill. The sooner you get to 10 bubbles the sooner you have those magic and physical reduction.

Concentrate on Magic Damage Build for armor combination. Scroll up also for Final Damage Combination if you want to know.

For plates, I am removing my Final Damage plate for 60 and would be replacing it with magic defense instead since the magic damage has gone crazy mad and my INT can't keep up with it anymore.

All major attack skills are in my first hotkey. Support skills are in the second hotkey

Armors with HP, Vit, Int for HP as well as Premium Health and Vitality Heraldry. Weapons are Magic Power not Int for higher atk rating.

If you want to solo ABN or GN then you have to have very good equips and high HP. This build will already do you some crazy damage. What's missing is your equips and of course as to any player, your playing style inside these dungeons

Alfredo and Slime is for Pvp. Advantageous over other characters.

The conversation about armors were for Final Damage. In PvE this will not be relevant since your damage multiplier is way too much already. In PvP, increasing Final Damage will ensure a good damage output wince final damage is added after all your attacks are calculated.

Magic Attack Build

In fact im using Twilight Manticore because of the damage boost in elements with matk hidden potential

All the major nukes in this skill build and Cocktail buff

The highest damage dealing combo would be Ice Punch + Magma Punch + Magma Wave + Mixed Infection + Poison Break. Do not move after you have cast Mixed Infection then follow it up with Poison Break.

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on March 01, 2013:

Killing a Paladin requires tactic and patience. The most important combo in killing a paladin is Mixed Infection + Poison Break. Cast Mixed infection then cast Poison break after. Do not move from where you are standing or you will no achieve the desired damage. This is because if you move then the poison from the mixed infection has faded thus lessening the damage of your poison break. If you do this right, then there is a chance you can reduce the HP of a paladin into 50% if it is a critical attack.

For hunter/acrobat. Get slime and alfredo out. This will be very beneficial since a hunters tracking arrow will hit the nearest target. Usually it will hit alfredo a lot since alfredo chases the hunter while the slime stays with you. In facing an acrobat just don't get hit with their combo, dodge and dodge and just cast skills.

Arif Yahya on February 27, 2013:

am playing dragon nest ina, it's still update lv 40 tough and tinkerer is new here

am using ur advice "those skill build alchemist" and it's awesome!!

i can kill 3 player at once, and they didn't even had a chance to get up

but it's hard to face paladin and hard to hit hunter or acrobat if my magma wall and magma wave are delayed

of course if those skill are ready, i can easly kill those paladin, still hard to hit hunter/acrobat

ghecik on February 25, 2013:

how about the heraldry?

ghellic on February 20, 2013:

how about going 2 hero's set as weapon, 3 immortal and 2 totems, does the final damage with this combination affected? my character is adept as well and im planning to have a set as mention above. what perfect pot should i after on my gears and armors, should it be INT, VIT, MAX HP OR AGI, VIT, MAX HP?

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on February 18, 2013:

If you go PvP then

2 Victor + 3 Immortal + 2 Totems. It would yield the highest Final Damage(510) that you need plus Magic attacks.

If you go 4:3 then it would yield a lower Final Damage(440).

However, this is a PvP and PvE build so you don't have to switch anymore when doing PvE. If you want pure PvP then I suggest 2:3:2 combination or 5:2 (Immortal:Victor).

But overall, Why not just do a pure Hero Set for PvP. The Individual boost per piece are so high.

keito on February 16, 2013:

i suggest 4 totems and 3 immos

if 4:3 compared to 7 totems = FD +55 , MATK - 15 , ATK - 15

only 15 less m.atk in exchange for 55 more FD... it's better, i think

ghellic on February 15, 2013:

how about getting 2 ladder weapons (victor) 3 immortal sets and 2 totems to boost a final damage. is this advisable for this kind of build?

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on February 11, 2013:

Final Damage is the damage added after all your attacks are calculated. In PvE you wont feel its effect. In PvP however it is a different story. Example, with a 500 final damage you will have an additional 500 added to your attack. If you magical attackis say 5000 then 500 will be added to it to make 5500 attack.

keito on February 10, 2013:

i don't quite get how the FD really works yet...

but thanks :D

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on February 10, 2013:

The thing with vit in an adept is that it adds a little bonus. Your max HP bonus however will give you a significant boost in HP. So what I am trying to do is maintain a significant damage as well as gaining the highest possible HP. If you have INT, VIT, Max HP then ok. But i would recommend an INT, AGI, Max HP Potential. It is important to boost crit for this build since crit is part of the objective. To attain the highest damage possible.

Main Priorities are:

Final Damage

Magic Attack

Secondary Priorities are:

Max HP

This includes your plates not just Hidden Potential ^_^

keito on February 10, 2013:

This is about your comment about the item build....

i am just wondering why is it not better to add VIT (for physical defense as well as hp) instead of pure HP or AGI ?

of course it's a given that Int and magic attack + crit is the priority

btw, best build that suited me so far

kuletz27 on February 05, 2013:

wat ur skill plate

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on February 05, 2013:

This is both a PvP and PvE build since it concentrates on damage. IN nest, you will be doing a lot of damage with this build.

EnCHant143 on February 05, 2013:

Can u guide me a perfect skill build in nest....

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on February 05, 2013:

I do not recommend an HP set in pvp for this build. This is an offense type build. If you build an HP set then your damage will be less than it should be. An INT set for the armors with HP for the gloves. Potential INT + Max HP + Vitality or Agi should be ok for the armor.

It is very important on how you actually play this build. You cannot beat everybody. But you have a higher chance of winning using this build.

cherryBoom on February 03, 2013:

in PVP which is better option in armor set HP or Int with will ?

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on January 31, 2013:

Yes I was thinking about the same thing of making a Hero Set for PvP

EnCHant143 on January 31, 2013:

HERO set can help ADePT???

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on January 31, 2013:

Lol . Somebody thought i was using cheat in PvP because of the high damage.

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on January 31, 2013:

Magic Attacks only applies to Enhancements and Potential. This is a DAMAGE build so you have to think where you can deal the most damage. With a Complete Totem Set, you will have Final Damage. In PvE, this may not matter. In Pvp However it makes a big difference. Final damage is a damage that is added after your attack, in this case magical attack, has been calculated. If say you have 1K final damage, then 1k will be added to each of your attack. Im not sure if it is possible but it is just an example.

TonG on January 29, 2013:

u say adept is magic att. why not wear 5 totem set and 2 immortal set?

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on January 28, 2013:

You will be surprised what aredo and slime can do in PvP. Effective against Snipers and Artillery. As well as Inquisitors.

Yes Adept needs to pump critical if you can. Critical is additional damage thus appropriate for this build. A mixed infection + poison break critical deals damage more than you can imagine.

I will Post my hotkey when i have time for screenshots.

Harlo on January 25, 2013:

Can show ur hotkey?

Tong on January 25, 2013:

adept need pump critical also ?

Tong on January 25, 2013:

i tot adept no add alfredo ?

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on January 25, 2013:

This is a PvE and PvP build. Alfredo and Slime are there for one purpose. To counter a Tracking Arrow from Sniper/Artillery. Only 3 TA and you are dead. A high crit Sniper/Artillery would kill you for less. Alfredo and Slime attracts the TA instead of you since they will always be near the Sniper/Artillery.

The newer skill build has changed but the concept remains. Pump up damage skills.

Watch out for the delay on magma punch. I noticed it is much slower than before.

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on December 17, 2012:

Just remember that this is a pure offense build. Once you start the combo of your major skills. Do not stop until you have already used everything. In between cool down, if the target is still alive, spam your magma punch ex since it is at max level. It will do very good damage.

Devian Ricko on December 15, 2012:

Nice guide, i think im gonna use this build. Thank! :)

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on December 15, 2012:

This is a skill build only. But if it comes to item. Since this is a full offense build. You should focus on a pure totem set with magic attack. The higher the item the better. The higher the HP with your magic attack the better.

For Armors : Intellect and Luck(Anti-Physical) with Int and HP Potential

Weapon: Magic Power and Intellect with Magic Attack, Int and Crit

Accessories : I still use a complete Twilight Years Manticore Set simply because they have % damage on Elemental Attacks. Hidden Potential should be Magic Attack, Int and Crit.

Richard Demalata (author) from Santa Rosa, Laguna on November 18, 2012:

It is very obvious that this is a Fire/Dark Build.Primarily Fire.

On the Fire side, we rely on Magma Punch, Magma Wall, Magma Wave, C2H5OH and of course Icicle Expression.

On the Dark side. We rely on Mixed Infection + Poison Break Combo.

The Ice skills are there for support. Icing Mass to slow enemy and Ice Palm to disrupt skills and combo. They are not used for damage but rather to control the environment.

I suggest u bind all the skills that i mentioned above in your primary slot. Those are effective in PvE as well as PvP.

I have slime and Alfredo as a counter against the Bow Master's Tracking Arrow skill. It will hit the summons instead. In pvp, 3 Tracking Arrow = dead. So be very careful when facing a BM who has a very high critical rate.
