Sugar Cookie that Identifies as a Chocolate Kissed Peanut Butter Cookie
If you did not know this before, you would never know have known now that this started out as a package of sugar cookie mix, and with a few adjustments, turned into a star studded, peanut butter cookie.
Guess it could be any cookie it felt like it was.
Ingredients
- 1 package Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon water
- 12 chocolate stars
It's my fault. I initially wanted a sugar cookie with thick buttercream frosting, but then, I started changing my outlook and mindset.
I had all the ingredients to make the change. Just had to adjust a little bit.
I followed the instructions on the package, using the butter ingredients amount for my peanut butter. Yes. I substituted. There is no butter in my cookies today.
I added the water. Then, started stirring. It was a little crumbly, so I added another glop of peanut butter. I stirred again. It was still a but dry, so I added another glop of peanut butter.
Finally, it held together like cookie dough. I cut it into 12 equal pieces and placed one piece in each baking cup.
I baked them at 375 for 12 minutes, then removed them from the oven and pressed a star into each one. Then. They must cool.
Recipe on Back of Sugar Cookie Package
I substituted peanut butter for the butter. I started out with the quarter cup the package recommended but kept adding until my mix formed a dough. It was at least half a cup of the peanut butter. I added the tablespoon of water and did not add more.
I counted out one star for each cookie.
