Bacon and Chicken

Was it the word bacon in the title of this recipe that got you here? Every time I see or hear the word bacon my mouth starts to water and I can almost smell the sweet aroma of it sizzling.

The following recipe for Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breasts is not only easy but only requires three ingredients.

Flavor from the bacon intermingling with the chicken, while baking is an absolute mouth sensation.

If you're not a big fan of turkey you may want to consider making this recipe for Thanksgiving or Christmas this year.

Alternative Ideas

For this recipe I used Montreal Chicken Spice, but if you do not have this on hand Cajun would work well, or perhaps a mixture of garlic powder and fresh ground pepper.

Side Dishes

I served the chicken alongside fresh steamed broccoli, with a side Caesar salad. The side dishes you could serve are endless.

A Must For Every Cook

Casserole Dish

This cast-iron enameled casserole dish is perfect for baking, roasting or braising.

Clean up is a breeze.

I find mine so easy to wash. Before placing food into it I simply give it a little spray with vegetable cooking oil. Once you've dished up your meal soak the dish in soapy hot water for about an hour and give it a light scrub. This casserole dish never disappoints me.

So glad that you liked the bacon wrapped chicken breasts Rachel and thank you for letting me know.

Rachel L Alba from Every Day Cooking and Baking on January 24, 2015:

Hi Susan, I had to look it up a different way. It didn't show up on your HubPage. I made this tonight and really liked it. The only thing is I like my bacon really crispy so I had to put the temperature up to 400 and then under the broiler to crisp up the bacon. But, it was a great recipe.

Thanks for a different way to make chicken.

Susan Zutautas (author) from Ontario, Canada on December 19, 2014:

Rachel, Thanks so much and I hope you all love the chicken with bacon.

@HSP Connections: Have you tried the chicken or turkey bacon? Might be an option for you. Not sure of the salt content though.

Peter Messerschmidt from Port Townsend, WA, USA on January 11, 2014:

Sounds yummy... and yes, "bacon" brought me here. Being on a low-sodium diet for hypertension, I miss bacon... except for special occasions.

Susan Zutautas (author) from Ontario, Canada on January 08, 2014:

@JoleneBelmain: A lot of people are telling me that they've never heard of Montreal Chicken Spice. I love it myself. I saw a recipe online recently that you'd posted that I can't wait to try that was made with bacon and chicken.

JoleneBelmain on January 07, 2014:

Bacon is my middle name, or at least would be if I had anything to say about it ;) ....These look delicious!! I cook with Montreal Steak Spice all of the time, but have never seen the Chicken version. Guess that's now on my shopping list lol. Thanks :)

@Corrinna-Johnson: Maple syrup would be great as a glaze, and I'll have to try that. I often buy maple bacon that's quite delicious.

Susan Zutautas (author) from Ontario, Canada on November 21, 2013:

@kathy-noble-5: I like stuffing the chicken breasts too. My favorite is with spinach and feta, I'll have to try putting brown sugar on the bacon, sounds great!

Susan Zutautas (author) from Ontario, Canada on November 21, 2013:

@ChocolateLily: Then this would be perfect for you on Thanksgiving. I hope you enjoy the chicken as much as we did.

ChocolateLily on November 21, 2013:

This sounds delicious! I've pinned it and hope we can do it soon. (I think I would prefer this at Thanksgiving as I don't like turkey.)

kathy-noble-5 on November 21, 2013:

Corrinna Johnson from BC, Canada on November 21, 2013:

Bacon makes everything taste better! These look heavenly! I make similar ones, but I glaze mine with a little honey or maple syrup.

Yep, bacon is the reason I clicked the link and I'm so glad I stayed to read your recipe. Bacon and chicken is such a good combination, and only 3 ingredients - what's not to love about that.
